Best buy straightener – Wow what can I say. I'm an old lady. No not really 55. But never used to straighten my hair but my daughter bought me this one. Changed my mind straight away. It doesnt dry my hair out does an amazing job I'm so happy with it. I think I'd be lost without it. Great buy highly reccomend it to anyone.

Overall a pretty good buy – Overall a pretty good buy, but not something I'd want to use for more than a year or two. Would most definitely rate higher if it had wider plates (please!!!) and was safer to use.

just so so – The Wet and Dry Style Straightener uses unique technology so that when you pass the tool through your hair, moisture escapes as steam and your hair becomes straight and smooth as it dries. With variable heat ranging from 140°C to 235°C, you can control the temperature to suit your hair and the style you're after. However it still harmful to my hair.

Nice hair straightener – I have slightly curly hair. Saw this straightener on sale and bought it to try out. It has temperature control. I normally set it on 140 degree. Don't want to burn my hair. It does the job. My hair is straightened in a few press. I would recommend it to everyone.

Good value for money – Good price with good quality. Been using it for more than 2 year now and I'm still very happy with it. Very easy to use and it heats up immediately

Does the job – It straightens your hair but can take a while to do. I like the wet and dry feature but I rarely use it on my wet hair. I think it's just a basic straightener.

Snaps hair – Nope! "Not happy Jan", I purchased the VS Sassoon wet dry hair straightener today and it's going straight back to Priceline where I got it from tomorrow. It heats up really quickly which is great, however it does not glide through my hair nicely at at all and I found it grabs my hair leaving breakage, if I used this every day my hair would look thin and damaged. Hopefully the next brand I buy is better.

Not as good as others – It does heat up quickly, the temperature is adjustable and does have an auto turn off. Although, I wouldn't say I would use this hair straightener over others. I found it to tuck on my hair quite a bit, and I had to go back over sections to get it perfectly straight and I have fine, thin, wavy hair. I haven't used it on wet hair yet, I'm actually… Read more

quite scared too but will give it a go. If you have a low budget this hair straightener may be for you but otherwise, you're better off buying a better model.

Great – I am quite happy with the straightener. Don't have to dry my hair before using it. Great quick results. Has a hair protect mode too. Easy to use. Heats up in a few seconds. Auto turn off also if not in use for some time. The only thing negative would possibly be the width of the straightener

Can't recommend – Bought this from Myer before knowing it's discontinued. It seems a good idea to be able to use it both Wet and Dry. Temperature is adjustable. Has a lock to keep it shut when done using it. However, the most uncomfortable part is the exterior plastic gets really hot after a while. If I want to use my other hand to help hold it when pulling down, I… Read more

had to be careful not to burn my fingers. I have used my friend's GHD before. I don't remember having to do the same.

Smooth plates, high heat and fairly reliable – I bought this straightener in mid-2014 to replace a disastrous Remington Hot Pink and, latterly, a secondhand old school Italian thing. The positives were immediately evident: smooth plates, high heat and a fairly quick straightening time of about 10-15 mins for my long hair with moderate waves/curliness/frizz. Although this product does a… Read more

better job than most economical straighteners on the market at the moment, I do have some difficulty with the very frizzy fringe section of my hair; however, that's not saying it's ineffective--just not amazing. I bought it at Big W for $50 and although I occasionally pull out the aforementioned GAMA straightener if I want a quicker and more even iron, this one is okay for general use and is, in my opinion, the only cheapie worth your time or money.

On the downside, the design isn't the best. The straightener is a little awkward to use as the on/off button is directly where your fingers will fall and the temp is often lowered inadvertently. Also, with the slim design it doesn't want to sit flat on the bathroom counter top and will most likely require a towel or heat mat to rest on. Mine slipped off the counter and onto the floor quite a few times, missing my feet by a frightening few milimetres. Not the safest. Also, I've found it has no side guards and I've burnt myself a few times.

I should point out that my hair seems to display a huge amount of damage since switching. If you're a straightening desperado like me though, you'll put up with it and go heavy on the conditioner.

Overall a pretty good buy, but not something I'd want to use for more than a year or two. Would most definitely rate higher if it had wider plates (please!!!) and was safer to use.

Bonus: dual voltage, so it's suitable for travel.
