Best hair straightener in the world. Lasted for 13 years! – This is the best hair straightener and curler I have ever owned! After 13 years of daily use, mine finally broke. It saw me through my high school days and into my late 20s. I have course, thick hair and the curler allowed me to straighten at the top and then flow into lovely loose curls in the ends. I’ve always been complimented on my hair and I accredit it to my very old and cheap straightener. Buying another one to replace it asap. Show details

Does the job – I have been using this straightener for a staggering 6 years, surprising. It's not often used as the curler, which I understand is why so many people have been attracted to the product. My hair does often suffer from static after using this straightener, but it's bearable. I don't know much different as I haven't used many other straighteners. I… Read more

have just ordered a new straightener, and it is yet to arrive, but I feel like the moment I use it, I'll realise how bad it is.

Bad in all ways – This is a horrible straightener and an even worse curler. The flat irons catch on your hair and feel like it's ripping your hair out while the curler is confusing and disfuntional. A traditional straightern works better for curler if you only want to buy one device. Glad I bought a GHD does both jobs perfectly.

I only kept it because it has dual voltage – Before the other TV brand came out I bought this one. It catches on my hair which is annoying but it does straighten. My hair is fine and curls easy so I can make it work for me. I use it primarily when I travel because it has the voltage range I can plug into an adaptor and use in the states (USA). But when I use a straightener/ curler at home I reach for the rotating one instead..

Really good! – I'm actually surprised to read the bad reviews. I needed a straightener a couple of years ago, so my friend gave me one of her ones (this one) to keep for myself. I've used it almost everyday for 2 years now and it's worked really, really well for me. I like to straighten my hair then give it a flick at the end, and the style always holds well.… Read more

It's only last week, after using it solidly for 2 years, that it finally died. I jumped online now so I can buy myself another one and I was shocked to see how cheap it was. I had no idea! What a bargain!

Useless!!! – Bought a few years ago and have tried to curl and straighten my hair with this product about 10 times with little to no success. Takes a while to heat up and the hair gets caught in the plates regularly. Doesn't hold or even really make curls or waves. I have normal to fine shoulder length hair. Waste of money and time. Do not buy!

terrible!! – I bought this 2 years ago from kmart it was $55.. I hate this product it doesn't heat like other straighteners its probably the weakest straightener in the market it doesn't curl or straighten my hair ..I have very frizzy curly hair so I tried to blow dry it straight then straighten it but its just useless!!!

Not too bad – I was looking for a dual purpose tool, and decided to try this out. I have super fine hair. My hair was messy and frizzy from a digital perm gone wrong. It straighten out my hair nicely and gives it volume. Was able to get some nice curls at the end, but didn't last long though. Straighten, gives volume and easy to handle Curls don't last long, Need to use a few times to get straight hair.

Ineffective – When I saw this product I was amazed that it has two purposes- straightening and curling. I thought I'd give it a shot but it turned out to be the worst waste of money ever! First of all, it does not curl your hair, it just leaves it limp and flicky at the bottom. Secondly, it does not have the right temperature I need to straighten my hair even… Read more

though I kept it on the max heat and it simply does not straighten your hair. When I have just finished doing my hair it is straight but the second I leave the house, it frizzes all over the place. I know it is not the humidity because when I straighten my hair with another straightener it stays perfectly in place. I suggest you save up for some real quality products like GHD or Cloud 9 because this product does a poor job.

Does not work

Useless! – Ive been looking for a decent hair curler and straighter for ages and came across this. The actual device is a nice color and it's packaging seems pretty legit. I was quite excited about this because I like that beachy look but this was just terrible. It held my meek, half curl for about a minute before it disappeared! Not only that but it doesn't… Read more

even straighten! Another thing is that the instructions on the packet don't work either. My friend ( who is a hairdresser) played around with it for a while and managed to get a curl ( that didn't last), the instructions are completely off! There is no point in this product, it's worthless and should be discontinued.

Did not curl, did not straighten, any attempts I'd not hold, not enough heat settings, bad instructions

Terrible – I used this 3 times before upgrading to a much better straightening iron. Such a waste of money, I have no faith in V S anymore and will not be buying another thing from them. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, its like a cheap kids toy. I can't really think of anything...not worth buying in my opinion. It just doesn't work at all. The iron… Read more

doesn't heat up enough and heats slowly, it doesn't glide through your hair, it is so frustrating to sit there for an hour trying to straighten or get curls out of this.

Not hot enough to do anything! – I'm only speaking for my type of hair which is fine, flat at the roots and naturally straight except for slightly kinky ends. This product doesn't work for me. First of all it takes FOREVER to heat up and even at the highest setting it's simply not hot enough to do anything which bottom line, it's the biggest problem with the iron. A GHD or my… Read more

trusty old Remington curling tong goes over 200-220°C so it only needs a quick stroke through my hair to curl it. This product only goes up to 180°C which is not even hot enough to straighten my kinks properly much less curl my hair!

After 2 minutes of usage and a few weird limp strands, I put it back into its box never to be seen again. It's a shame because the idea is there but it has been executed poorly. The cheap toy plastic feel of it doesn't help either. I'll stick to my Remington curling appliances thanks. Nothing. Nice shade of purple? Not hot enough, doesn't work, more cheap plastic toy than appliance

Awful - Not a single easy stroke ! – Awful - I have fine hair, and couldn't even make a decent wave!! It is not as easy as a single stroke with the iron to make a curl. Each time, my hair came out the same as it was when entering the iron. I am seriously considering returning this to the store. Don't waste your money. cheap price - and that is what you get !!!! Didn't work as described. No curls, very little change to the hair at all.

t'is ok – It's ok if you want to have loose beach curls, which was what I was after. It works well for me because I can straighten out my often untame hair with it and then apply a scattering of beach curls to get the effect I want. It's not a matter of 'one simple stroke', though - you seem to need to target the same pieces of hair continuously to get some… Read more

sort of desired effect. It was cheap - picked it up for $45 - and it was worth the risk as opposed to a job a once off job a hairdresser may or may not have done for similar or more money. It's marketing is a bit deceiving - there is a little more work involved than a simple stroke to get any kind of result other than a straighten.

Terrible – I am so so disappointed with this. From the marketing it has had it showed such promise but I feel it is a complete waste of money. Guess I'll go back to curling tongs which as so much easier and quicker. The idea!! It just doesn't work. I tried and tried and then got my Mum to try for me. We watched the online video and read the instructions… Read more

over and over again. I bought this with the promise of it being simple to use - as easy as straighteners. I never managed a single curl. Just very random bent hair!! When looking at the product you can see its not going to work.

Also traps individual hairs and pulls them out.

Terrible – Don't waste your money...this product doesn't work and you'd be better off raiding your mums house and finding an old set of hot rollers!!! There are none It doesn't work, I tried over and over again just got some slightly bent hair and lost quite a few hairs in the process as it tends to get tangled and pull out strands

Terrible – I wouldn't waste my money on this product. it is okay to straighten your hair. I have curly hair anyway, but i like to blow drow straight and then have a nice soft curl, like the hair dressers give me, and thought this product would do the job. Ahh, no! dollar value can't get the curl.

Terrible – The packinging is trendy and the design channels GHD. I was not impressed by the performance of this product. Some others may get it to handle better than me, but I can't justify the money when it doesn't perform as well as other cheapher products i have used. I purchased this product to get a particular look (large loose curls), I chose this one… Read more

because the box shows the effect I wanted, and I thought it looked innovative; seeing i've been using my straightener to curl. It seemed huge and cumbersome when I tried to use it; not made for the uncoordinated. I couldn't get it to curl my hair; the best i could get was random triangle shapes. A perfect waste of $70.

Bad – It doesn't work well. I'm an amature at this sought of stuff hence I wanted something easy, I find this to be extremely annoying and difficult, and find it easier to curl using my friend's straightener. Was advertised well. It's a waste of money and doesn't work.
