Nice little unit. Value for money if not looking for fancy features. Easy to install and great coverage across the house and outdoors too. Long cables, handy when travelling. Reasonable battery life, using same unit for 2nd child after 3.5yrs. Show details ·  1

I have owned this camera for 1 year, & have had constant issues with a) the battery never charging past 2 bars, b) the battery depleting after 2 hours and c) the parent unit randomly turning itself off at night when plugged into the mains - sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after just 20 minutes. We replaced the battery with a new one and it… Read more

made no difference to any of these issues at all. All in all, a very flawed and ultimately useless product. We replaced it with a Uniden BW2511 for the same price and it's a night and day difference in reliability and quality.

Would have asked for a refund but I lost the receipt! – Monitor cuts out occasionally for no reason , button pad for volume and navigation very hard to press correct button. Easy setup but you need these items to be reliable and this item is not. Show details

Utter crap – Returned and replaced, both units were faulty. Neither ever fully charged even after 18 hours! The parent unit only charged to 2 bars and would last a whole 20 minutes. I am returning the replacement. It's been about of muck around for something that should have just worked. Having to cart a newborn around to return is very difficult. Avoid at all costs. Show details

Never buy a Vtech baby monitor – I have the pan and tilt Vtech 7inch screen monitor bm7750hd it has had issues from about one week in, the monitor screen would drop out of signal and then turn off and not turn back on again, I called Vtech and they said reset and try again and it continued to happen and then didn't happen for a while so I kept using it. Then one day I was using… Read more

the monitor and I heard my baby screaming from the other room, and on the monitor my baby appeared to be peacefully sleeping, I went into the room and she was on her front very upset crying and still the monitor showed her to be happily sleeping. This is when I decided to contact Vtech again, but because there's a tiny chip on the plastic cover where the back stand attached to the monitor which has happened purely from using the back stand, they have said that voids the warranty and they won't replace the monitor which has been a problem from the beginning. It feels like a really dodgy tactic to me, making a monitor from such brittle plastic that they can void the Warranty on a product that has technical problems. What a total waste of money and a disappointing company that is making money of technology for babies safety. funnily enough they thank me for my loyalty to their company at the same time as Refusing to help me out AND put a link to their online store at the end of the email, what a joke.

My issues with this device – This baby monitor works well but it has a few issues. What works well - It has one of the smallest screen sizes and it’s fine. You can if baby is awake or asleep or if they are in a weird position. Don’t need anything more. It has night vision which I’m sure is mandatory for a baby monitor - The audio is more than good enough. You can set it to… Read more

only turn on at a certain volume (it doesn’t turn on unless baby makes a lot of noise) - The temperature is really an essential feature we found.

What works badly: - the lowest screen brightness is SO BRIGHT. It’s so bright I can use it as a flashlight at night. If you want to check on baby in the night it’s like shining a flashlight in your eyes. Good luck sleeping after that. This is also the only way to check the temperature - The lowest sound level is pretty extremely loud. I get that it’s meant to wake you up but it wakes you up in a panic it’s so loud. - When you turn on the screen it shows the last image it has for a second. So you might see an image of an empty cot. This is a very minor issue once you get used to it. Just a bit weird. - The battery is ok but not great. I think this is acceptable given the price point.

The more expensive models offer a lot if fancy features you don’t need but none mention the ones I want. A screen that can be very dim at night. More adjustments on the audio. Multiple screens/monitors so I can check on baby from a different room if I want to. Extra long battery life. USB C charging so I can charge it anywhere (this would be a good substitute for long battery life)

Do NOT BUY – My baby is 5 weeks old and this baby monitor is extremely bad. It worked well for 2 days after that screen an noise cuts out. The screen is literally blank. You have to speak into it to get screen to turn back on. Picture quality is really bad. Its definitely not work even $2. Someone's baby could wake up and you wouldn't even know because the baby monitor does NOT WORK AT ALL. Show details

Exactly what I needed – Very satisfied with range Very satisfied with audio and image Screen is good, battery is bad Plug and go kinda set up ao all in all its pretty good. I was nervous to get a monitor because I've read some news articles but I put myself at ease and just decided to get one because I needed to watch her sleep instead of getting up 5 times during an… Read more

episode of whatever we were watching. We've had no security breaches and it's very easy and reliable other than the battery life but the house is small so don't need to take it everywhere. If you have separation anxiety then get one!

Exactly what you need to monitor bub – Pros: - Basically no set up required - Camera has good range of view - You CAN change the VOX sensitivity so that noise only comes on when bub makes noise - You CAN change the screen setting so it either stays on with or without sound or turns off until bub makes a noise - Charge seems fine - you can definitely have parent unit off charge for… Read more

several hours - Video and speaker is clear day and night - I can see bub breathing on the non-zoom view - parent unit has a stand

Cons: I can’t say I’ve experienced any issues. Screen is small as per the image of the monitor, camera image isn’t super clear but it’s clear enough that I can see if bub is breathing. Zoom function is pretty basic but it’s a $99 monitor!

Great – Battery on the modem part runs out fast, has to be on charge a lot. But other than that I love it. I use it every night, great picture. adjusts to the lighting very fast. Definitely recommend! Show details

Works better than expected! – Easy to use and great quality, had never used a baby monitor before so was nervous about spending a lot of money on something without knowing how well they work but it's exceeded my expectations and well worth it. Show details

Good value for money – Great price and works pretty good for our small house. Does not do very well for distance and sometimes will loose reception at times. In general though great for the price and would buy again. Show details

Good unit – Just trialed the Vtech BM2700, sound works, camera for both colour and night vision looks good without being exceptional but when paying $74 for the unit I wasn’t expecting CIA type camera tech here. Keep it basic - if the sound works and the image quality allows you to see what your baby is doing or isn’t that what you need. No requirement to… Read more

spend $300plus on 5inch + parent monitors (screens), 1080p video, audio songs blah blah blah you get the drift

4 out of 5 stars it does the fundamental things you need (audio and video)

Battery life is quite short on the parent unit.

Better options out there especially for battery life – Easy to use, average video quality And audio crackly. Night vision better than colour/day and appauling battery life 2.5 hours Max. Wouldn't recommend, better spending a bit more for better battery life. Show details

Love it – Easy to use and set up. Good choice of options/preferences in settings. Battery life and reception was better than expected. Video is slighly grainy but does not affect the visability of baby. Show details

Not too bad – Good monitor have never had a problem with it. One bad thing is the battery doesn’t last long on the parents monitor when not plugged into the wall. Good sound, alright video quality. Good distance range aswell. Show details

Poor video quality – All vtec baby monitors only have a 3 hour max batt life on parent unit (as per email from them). The quality of the video is terrible. Night vision needs improvement. Sound sensitivity better than previous model but it beeps even on mute?? Show details

Very happy with it! – Purchased Vtech baby monitor BM2700 in August 2018 from Target. Has been using it for 4 months and love it! It is easy to use, has coloured hi-resolution LCD screen, that also works very well in the dark. Monitor has 2-way talk back intercom and shows temperature in your baby's room. I can't hear my baby breeth in this monitor, but any time she… Read more

moves I can see and hear it, which is enough for my peace of mind. I use it when I do gardening (about 10-15 metres from baby's room), the range is sufficient for that and a battery lasts long. The camera angle is easy to adjust, so you can move it whenever you move your baby. I move mine between her cot and my bed and adjust it accordingly. I also take it with me when we travel, even when we go out to a friends house.

The price was affordable ($99), compare to other monitors. I was impressed with it!
