Poor service – Purchased ring as gift with option of exchange. Poor after sales service. Store gave impression they'd made the sale and weren't interested in providing any after sales service. Sales person was very disinterested and less than helpful.

Disappointed! Looked like the work of an amateur – I went to Warringal Jewellers in Heidelberg to get a ring altered to stop it catching on things. I was so disappointed when I got the ring back. You could see the soldering where he'd joined the metal. It looked like the work of an amateur. He's not in everyday so when I picked up the ring he wasn't there for me to query it. As it looked so tacky I was too embarrassed to wear it so I had to pay more money and take it to my regular jewellers who had been away. He did a professional job which is what I expected from the Warringal Jewellers.

Will not go to again and would not recommend!!

  Warringal Jewellers

Bad customer service and they mangled my ring – I had a ring which I had bought the wrong size but I loved the ring and stone (smokey quartz and sterling sliver) and it sat around for a while not worn. Later I took it to a Melbourne city jeweler to have it re-sized up to fit the finger I wanted it to be worn on. After having it re-sized I wore it once and the stone fell out which I had heard could happen, so the ring was left unworn with the stone sticky taped to the ring for a couple of years. I finally pulled my finger out and decided to have the stone re-set, so looked for a jewelery store nearby to where I live. I remembered seeing Warringal Jewellers in a local shopping mall in Heidelberg so looked them up online and saw they did repairs. I took my ring in for a quote, when I first spoke to the female store attendant I asked were all repairs done onsite and was told yes. The jeweler came out from the back room and looked at the ring and quoted me a flat fee of $120 to re-set the ring, I was under the assumption it had been a new ring when I bought it from a shop I knew well, but he told me that the stone had fallen out because the claws were "worn", he ignored what I told him about having the ring re-sized and this was why the stone fell out. I had just had ankle surgery a few days before and was on heavy painkillers and not thinking clearly, so just handed the ring to him and agreed to the $120 fee and accepted that the ring was "worn". He told me that it would possibly be ready in a week if I was lucky, that he had to cut the claws off completely and put new ones on and then send it to a 'setter' at another location. I had expected that all they would have to do was to put a little more silver onto the claws to secure the stone, but I didn't question it. I left the store but returned to speak to the girl (the man was gone) to ask her to make sure that the new claws would be as close as possible to the original ones, they were extremely subtle and suited the ring and stone. She said something I could not understand, and a bit worried I left the store again. I had already paid the total amount in full by debit card so it was a bit late to change my mind. After I got home I decided to email the man to make it clear to him what I wanted the new claws to look like, I received back a very curt email telling me if I didn't want to continue with the repair of the ring, I could come back in and pick it up as it had not been started yet. I said I wanted the work done, but just wanted to make sure about the end result/design. I waited about a week and heard nothing, so I emailed again asking what day would my ring be ready for collection. I received no reply. I emailed again and got a very curt response telling me that the ring was at the setters and that when it was back in the store, I would get an email. I got no expected day it would be ready and was left up in the air. All contact with the store made me feel like I was bothering them and should leave them alone. They were very unfriendly, except that first time before I paid. I waited another week and was starting to panic, I contacted them through their Facebook page and asked that the guy get back to me. A couple of days later he did respond and told me my ring was ready to be collected. I went straight in to pick it up and he said it had been there for several days but he thought he had emailed me but hadn't because they had "had a flood" and things had been hectic. I looked at the ring and saw that 2 of the claws were larger than a third one (the stone is a triangle cut and there are three claws, one on each point of the stone) it looked like one claw was not touched but two were. Also, the sliver setting where the stone used to sit in the ridge of, had been bent all out of shape and turned inwards, and the stone had been sat on top of it, and even the underside of the stone which was not polished and should be sitting inside the silver, was now exposed a bit, the stone is now not sitting on the ring properly, in fact one side of the ring setting edge is crooked and goes on an angle. From the top the ring looks fine, but if you look at the edges of it from the side, the whole stone is sitting on top of the ring instead of sitting into the setting with only the very top showing as it had been before, and one side is very obviously crooked and all sides have been bent inwards where before they came up flush to the side of the stone. When you put the ring to your ear and tap the stone gently with your finger you can hear it click which means it is slightly loose and moving, and because they have bent all the silver inwards for the stone to sit on and show also the un-polished part at the bottom of the stone, now less light goes into the ring through the top of the stone to bounce off the 'housing', as the edges are bent inwards and preventing all light from entering, especially on one side of the triangle. It is a very beautifully cut and faceted stone, but now does not sparkle as much as it did before because not as much light is entering the housing due to the bent sides all around. I am furious and disappointed with both the customer service during the process (they made no effort to understand how important it was to me that the ring stayed looking the same as before) and made me feel like I was being a pest even asking questions, and that they left me waiting and not knowing when the ring would be ready, and I am crushed that the end result is so bad, I now will have to take the ring to another jeweler somewhere and have them take the stone out again and re-make the housing which has been bent and twisted all out of shape. I would not recommend that anyone go to this jeweler for any kind of repair work, they give bad customer service and their work is dreadful.

As a postscript to my experience with this business...... Three weeks after writing this review (to the day) I was wearing the ring (still waiting to find another jeweler I trust to fix it) and leaned forward to grab something from the adjoining lounge chair to me, my hand accidentally bumped the fabric padded cushioned edge of the arm of the chair and it knocked the edge of the ring as it happened. The stone flew out onto the floor. Not a hard surface and not a heavy bump. So besides looking awful and being slightly loose, their 'work' didn't even manage to hold the stone in place for longer than three weeks.
