Fantastic product. It's been working for me for over 5 years without any issues. Easy to use and quality of water is excellent! I use it once a 2-3days Just FYI Show details
Great product for about a year...at that point it just isn't working consistently. I can get it to work only by resetting it over and over again until it seems to take. I have sought help from the vendor I purchased from, no reply, WaterLovers itself..no reply. Not a cheap date. I thought I was buying a quality product. Show details
I received the item today, and like other reviews, I found the water tasted like rubber. This is bad. I have organised a return. Honestly, this is just a waste of time and I think people should avoid this product. It has been plagued with issues over the years as per the reviews, and I wish I knew this before buying. UPDATE: it has been 2 weeks… Read more
since I received this product and I'm changing my review from 1 star to 4 stars. I took a chance and decided not to return the product, but I am not sure why. Probably because it looked so well made and solid. The weird rubber taste in the water is now gone, but it took about 12 full uses of the machine AND cleaning it with citric acid before the taste went away. I think this is a great product and I'm glad I kept it, but there are two criticisms that the manufacturer really needs to take on board:
1. They need to make people aware that it can take a long time before the rubbery taste of the water goes. 2. They need some actual decent customer service. I contacted them two weeks ago via the form on their website and they didn't bother to respond. Looking at other reviews here and on YouTube, this I a very common complaint. Just taking people's money and then ignoring them after that means that I doubt I'll ever buy anything from them again, and can't recommend anyone else do so either.
Waterlovers MKII was a replacement unit for the failed earlier model. Waterlovers MKII failed even faster – Copied from experience with older model - This is a review of the replacement unit which is a Waterlovers MKII. Update Jan 2025 *Judging by recent reviews of the 'newer unit' i was fortunate to be sent a replacement, as per my update (above). *This 2nd unit failed permanently in a very similar way. It would have provided about the equivalent of 9… Read more
months daily use. As with other Customers in my position, I treated the 2nd device with absolute care. Studiously ensuring it was clean and dry on electrical contact before starting the cycle.
I now have two units that will contribute to landfill which is probably the most regretful element. I could imagine they both could be easily fixed by an electrician but obviously I wont be taking that risk. Here is the update email i sent to Waterlovers in VIC:
--- I'm sorry to report that the replacement unit you kindly sent to me failed in September this year. I was away from my home since then and have since retested multiple times.
The issue with this unit is almost identical to the original issue. From my layman perspective, it appears an over-sensitive switch. Maybe due to the high AU voltage. The unit was well taken care of and used every day. I've tried many tests, including swapping in the older unit's water vessel out (as I didn't throw out the prior model).
It is a shame for me as I feel you have a great design which is a pleasure to use, while it works. It seems nothing matches the reliability of a genuine Megahome from Taiwan.
Do you feel there is anything I could try at this point? I'd be most happy to send you videos of both models. ---
At this stage, no response from Waterlovers. Been a month. If they were willing to acknowledge, I'd even consider one last try. It is 2025 and should not be hard to produce a robust unit capable of 5-10 years operational value and/or modularity to repair at a low cost.
I might start looking at industrial units from the USA. Or a genuine Megahome from Taiwan. Cannot recommend.
LOVE IT – Just like the other review on here, i was sceptical at first as i’d heard negative feedback from the 2800 model and didn’t want to invest in something that could possibly stop working. However, i looked further in to the brand and found that they had recalled all 2800 models and completely upgraded and targeted the issues by changing the sensors?… Read more
ect to ensure that the MKII would be problem free. And I can’t stress enough how glad I am to have made the purchase, as someone who has been drinking distilled water for over 20 years, i can testify that this distiller is by far the easiest to use, effective and most reliable on the market, not to mention i love the grey colour option!! Absolutely love my distiller
MKII is amazing!! – Let me start by saying, I was a little hesitant after hearing 50/50 reviews about the previous model the 2800, however the MKII model is without a fault!! I use my unit every single day, my family and I can't live without it! I honestly couldn't recommend it more.
