Never again – Aqua trim gloss. Goes on like milk, thin and watery with little coverage. Three coats is still not enough. Dries so quickly it's almost impossible to lay off without leaving brush strokes. Doesn't level itself. Not impressed Show details

Good quality paint – I used Wattyl Aqua Trim on my window sill. I'm an amateur painter but the Aqua Trim is so easy to use that it looks like a professional painted my sill. The paint glides on timber without effort. Very happy with the result. Show details

A great paint! – Just about the best paint I have ever used. Much better than Solagard. Goes on really easily and leaves a magic satin finish. Used it on the exterior of our house around ten years ago and its still in perfect condition. Highly recommended. Show details

Unacceptable for professional painters – I'm a professional painter in NZ. The contractor I am working for has specified Wattyl paints throughout the 5 retirement units I have just finished. The wall board sealers and finish coat low sheen were ONLY just adequate to do the job (apart from Wattyl mistiniting 160L of paint). The Aquatrim however failed in every aspect. Upon opening the… Read more

first bucket it was found the paint was full of skin and lumps (all Wattyl products on this job had to be strained for brush, roller and spray application. Time consuming so costly). Upon application Aquatrim had excessively poor spreading and had to be really worked to make an even, consistent coat. The opacity of Aquatrim falls way below par, in fact it's unacceptable. After the first unit we decided an extra coat of sealer was needed to get only just acceptable coverage. 5 coats in total. 1 factory primer, 2 sealers and 2 Aquatrim. Aquatrim has extremely poor self leveling. We don't expect a lot from water based enamels but this was by far the worst. The overall finish, accepted by our clients, falls well below of what we expect of ourselves as tradesman (nearly 80 years experience between us). We have advised our contractor we will no longer contract to them if they continue to specify Wattyl.

Window panes made easy – I had to paint three new windows and knew Nothing about painting. Aquatrim with a good brush went on like a breeze, two coats made them pop. Easy apply and clean up, looks like a professional painter magically appeared and painted them. I’m so surprised I did them with the help of the Stratco staff.  Show details
