Best charcoal bbq – Great charcoal bbq. Quality is great as all weber products are. Roasts turn out great, does great wings and also does a good ol Aussie bbq. Solid construction, sturdy legs and I love the folding grate to add extra beads if needed. Cant fault this bbq as it is great  Show details ·  1

Very Solid, my go to BBQ – I bought this second hand 9 years ago. I have added charcoal baskets to make starting then separating the coals (for indirect cooking) easier. The only thing that has perished is the wood handles (my lack of oiling or painting is the real problem), it will not be hard to fashion some new ones out of wood. The new ones have different handles. I… Read more ·  1

love cooking with charcoal (heat beads or Mallee). I have roasted, grilled, used camp ovens and even potjies on it.

Fulfills its functions well – I bought this one for $49 at Bunnings, have used it twice and have not been disappointed. I wanted a charcoal bbq because I have trees & giant bamboo in my yard giving ample fuel to start the fire. I also wanted the smoked flavour of charcoal. This basic model has two grills allowing food to be placed on the top grill when coals are very hot or… Read more

wood fuel is high and, a smaller lower grill for re-situating food when they start to die down(if they are placed together with the larger one underneath, food does not have to be move, only the grill). Unlike our open bbq, the lid of this one traps heat well ensuring efficient use of heat. Holes in base & lid are well located and have an open/close lever for effective control of the fire. Bowl is deep enough to place a lot of fuel. Wheels & handles are well located for easy moving and hanging utensils. Being charcoal, it can't be used on the veranda but otherwise it does everything I need well.

I have just taken the rating down to 3 stars because of deterioration of the plastic wheels on the bbq. The metal parts remained in okay condition but the plastic wheels just deteriorated, cracked & fell off after about 8 months Pity, the rest of it was good.

Good BBQ – Solid construction. Not flimsy at all. What I like most about is that it is deep. The other shallow ones which i have used previously need some bricks to prop the metal grill up so that it doesn't burn the meat. I also like the flip side on the metal grill so that I can re-adjust the heat beads or add more heat beads without lifting the HOT metal… Read more ·  1

grill. Deep kettle Can take up a bit of space. One needs open space to operate this, can be difficult in apartment.

Simplicity and quality – When the manual says you only need to clean it once a year, that can only be a good sign! So easy to use and the results are amazing, best steaks I've ever cooked. Beats the Weber gas BBQ hands down, let alone the stove top! Putting it together was simple enough, but could have used with a bit more detail for orienting the ash cleaning lever.… Read more ·  1

The kettle itself is solid as a tank.

After cooking, you can simply close the bottom and top air vents to extinguish the charcoal, ready for use the next time!

I bought the $199 version from Bunnings which misses out on the easy-light charcoal grill (mine is just a plain straight grill), the charcoal baskets, the hinged cooking grill and the cookbook. Except for the book (which you can buy cheaply on eBay) you don't need the other accessories at all. Much better value than spending $299 at other shops...

The only advice is to buy a charcoal chimney straight away, it will make lighting charcoal super easy and from there you can only get good results from the kettle. Well designed, solid, easy to assemble, makes the best steaks ever

Excellent – At around $400, it’s pricey, but with the amount of use I’ve already got out of it in a few months, it’s well worth it. If your guests are hungry, then fire up the gas barbie instead – cooking on a weber is an art, and art does not happen in 20 minutes. Highly recommended! I love my weber. I use it more for direct cooking with the lid open -… Read more ·  1

that’s how we do it where I come from because it gives you more time to stand around and drink beer whilst watching the coals getting ready. I thought indirect cooking would be daunting, but cooked a perfect 2kg lamb roast and 2kg pork roast at the same time for Christmas. Really easy, just follow the books. The ash catcher is a bonus especially if you’re using the Weber in a decked area or alfresco and you don’t want ash all over the place. None.... er... wait, maybe one – it didn’t build itself when it came out of the box, I had to do it myself and the wait was agonising...

Great design – Firstly let me say that I rarely write feedback about products I own. Secondly let me say that on the occasions I do it is almost always because I am so infuriated by the poor quality of the product that I am compelled to take time out of my day to give them a piece of my mind. What a pleasure then, to be happy to write to say that I haven't even… Read more ·  1

used my new Weber once yet and I am mightily impressed. I just purchased a One-Touch Silver and the assembly was a complete joy for three reasons. First, design - the design of the unit is extremely well thought-out both structurally and for ease of assembly. Secondly, manufacture - the components all appear very solid and are machined to good tolerance so that everything assembles easily yet soundly - and this is not an expensive unit. Thirdly, easy-to-follow instructions - so often the instructions for self-assembled products are frustratingly difficult to understand and/or poorly illustrated, which is definitely not the case here. All up a great pleasure to put together, and I congratulate the design, manufacture and documentation people on an excellent job. I can't wait to start cooking with my new Weber! Design, manufacture, ease of assembly, good instructions

Excellent – The best investment I have ever made. I have owned mine for around 14 years. I got it when the model came out with the 'V' in the lower grill where you place the firelighters and the it has the 2 coal baskets. It initiated our Xmas tradition of a leg of pickled pork for Xmas dinner every year. I also never new what crackling was until I had some… Read more ·  1

off the Weber. I am about to get a 2nd Weber so I can cook the vegies while cooking large roasts on the other Weber or when I am using Weber open with direct fire for Steaks etc...

The ONLY reason I will part with my Weber is IF it wears out. After 14 years and nothing replaced I am confident I will get another 14 years without replacing anything. I cannot praise my Weber high enough so if anyone is contemplating getting one, I can offer one piece of advise... JUST DO IT ! Everything and everything!

The taste was why we originally purchased a Weber but will say the ease of it.

I upgraded my gas BBQ to one with a hood and I don't use it as it is awful to use and clean and doesn't give any flavour. Nothing like a Weber. I am contemplating getting one for my Daughter so they can experience true flavour. This is a hard one... the only thing that comes to mind is the plastic foot split and fell off after about 12 months and I have never replaced. Truly, that is the only con I can say.

Excellent – Wonderful. Stores and moves easily. Economic to run. Durable with many years of use. Neat and tidy. Cooks beautifully tender roasts with wonderful flavour that exceeds what can be done indoors. Our Weber cooked 2009 Christmas lunch for 9 adults and no-one left hungry. We prefer the fuel to gas as we love the taste and the slow cook tenderness of… Read more ·  1

the meat.It is compact and stores easily. This is the second Weber we've had the last one was used for over 15 years so durability must be added to the pros. My family love it. I can't really think of any cons. Maybe best for roasting than grilling.
