Weber Pulse Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedIs it possible to buy a new aluminium bottom shell for the Weber 2000. I just cannot get the residue off the shell. I have tried everything.
Hi Jan, yes we have spare parts available for the Pulse and we may be able to help with some cleaning troubleshooting before having to look at a replacement part. We can look further into this for you if you are able to send through some photos and your Pulse serial number to: ANZ_social@weber.com and we can see how we can best help.
Hi. I have been using my pulse BBQ regularly for the past 1.5 years however I noticed on my last use that the LH side is not controlling the temperature. The readout is working correctly but the element just stays on flat out. Any ideas?
Hi Simon, to clarify is the element heating and after adjusting the temperature the element is staying quite hot? It could either be the element itself or the control panel.
Yes, the LH element stays on full unless you turn the control knob to almost nothing. I suspect the controller as it never seems to get to temperature and beep like it used to. It's creates a very uneven cooking experience as the RH side shuts down because of the excess heat coming from the LH side. Any thoughts? Cheers
Thanks for your reply Simon. It does sound as if it could be the controller in this instance, but there is a slight chance it may be the element if it is not adjusting in temperature. We would love to look into this further and troubleshoot here to determine the cause and see what will be the best option here with warranty and spare parts. Be sure to have your Pulse serial number handy when you contact the team. Thanks
My drip tray and liner keeps getting blown out by wind. There is no detent in the tray design, similar to the 2400Q. What do you suggest to keep the tray from being blown out?
Hi Thomas, thanks for your question. Once there is a little bit of fat and drippings in the tray, that should be enough to hold it down, however when you have a fresh tray in there and aren't planning a cook soon, I'd suggest something non-combustable such as a small rock or paperweight to keep in there until your next cook. Also, if you have a cover for your Pulse, that should provide some additional protection for the drip tray.
Yeah it had quite a bit of fat and grease. It went all over the deck. That’s not going to work. It’s a design problem. Maybe I can put a nub on it so it doesn’t slide out so easily. Do you know the dimensions of the slide rails.
Hmmm the more I thought about it…an engineer wanting you to compensate for a bad design with a rock or paperweight just “says it all!”
Surely Weber is better than that!
Please offer an acceptable solution or commit to improving the design.
Hi Thomas, apologies, I was offering a solution that was over and above as this drip tray and pan are designed to withstand a breeze and it shouldn't fly out. You can also try adjusting your barbecue to a different position in your yard so the wind is going in a different direction. If you've got any further questions, we'd be happy to help.
I have a recipe for pork belly that is slow cooked in foil with the skin exposed. The oven temperature recommended for the oven is 140 centigrade then increased to 220 for the last half hour to crisp the skin. Can I use my pulse 2000 to do this by placing the foil wrapped pork belly on the trivet and using the indirect method at around 150 degrees then 230?
I bought the BBQ Pulse 2000 and need an extension cord. The Pulse 2000 requires at least 13 amps (per WEBER's website), but heavy-duty cables over 13 amps aren’t available under 4 meters. My options are:
A 10-amp cord under 4 meters. A 15+ amp cord over 4 meters.
Which is the safest choice?
Hi Jess, thanks for the question. The Pulse 2000 uses 9.5 amps at full power, so a 10-amp cord under 4 meters is the most suitable. We hope this helps.
I purchased the pulse for hubby 4 months ago and he's loving the change from gas to electric! We live in a coastal environment and although we keep the BBQ cover on when not in use, I'm concerned that the control panel will be effected by the salt air. Should it be stored? We do use it the BBQ almost daily.
Hi K L, so glad to hear you are enjoying your Pulse electric barbecue! It is recommended as per the Owners Guide that the "Temperature controller should be removed from the barbecue and stored indoors when barbecue is not in use." We would advise to remove the controller after your cook to ensure the longevity of the controller.
We hope this helps!
Any update on a flat plate for the pulse? The griddle as eluded to previously takes up a lot of space for little cooking area
Hi Chris, at this stage there are still no plans to bring a hot plate in for the Pulse. We appreciate the feedback on the griddle and have passed this onto the team.
Hi I am new to the 2000 pulse, simple question, if I am cooking a whole chicken what temperature should I set the 2000 Pulsar at??
Hi Peter Thank you for reaching out, we hope you are enjoying the Pulse. We would recommend preheating your barbecue for 15-20 minutes and then setting your Pulse to medium. It should sit at 190-230 degrees. Please let us know if you have any further questions
Thanks is medium one click back!
I am going down a path that I see others have gone before me. I have just bought a Pulse 2000 and found I needed an extension cord. I read the instructions in the manual about buying a 14-gauge one that is no longer than 4 m long. Go to electrical stores, no clue what I am talking about, ring the Weber support number from the manual "Why are you phoning us?" Do I have to stick with the recommendations from manual or can I buy any <=4 m 10 amp extension cord that is not going to get wet. Why does the manual state what is needed if it is unavailable???
Hi Clare, Thank you for reaching out. You should be able to purchase a heavy duty outdoor extension cord that will work with your barbecue, just make sure it is no longer than 4 meters. These can be found at places like Bunnings. If you have any other questions feel free to send us a DM on Facebook
Wish that was true. Not at John R Turk, not at Bunnings But I note that you say heavy duty and not 14 gauge. Is that no longer a requirement? One Weber store told me just to get an ordinary 10 amp extension cord.
Hi Clare
Our apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We would recommend an outdoor standard of extension cord. Something that is durable for all types of weather. If you have any other questions please let us know
If an extension cord is rated for 10 amps and is 6 metres long the internal wires will be rated/sized accordingly, ie they will be thicker if they need to be. Just by a extension cord the length you need .
Hi I purchased the Weber Pulse 2000 , it keeps tripping my power point , electrican states nothing wrong with my power supply
any suggestions
Hi Martin, you really only have 2 options. It could be earth leakage (which could be cumulative with other appliances on the same circuit) or over current for the same reason. I cant run the BBQ and the dish washer for the same reason.
Hi Martin
We are sorry to hear this. Please contact our customer service team on 1300 301 290 (AUS), and they will be able to troubleshoot this issue with you. Thank you
why doesnt the electric Pulse bar b q have a flat plate
So you can buy one
No you can't buy one, I tried in the Weber shop. Only a dish for cooking eggs or onions. Not a flat plate
Hi Louise We apologise for our delay in getting back to you. You can purchase a Griddle: external link or a Grilling Stone: external link . Alternatively you can browse our Qware range and a Baby Q or Q hotplate would fit on your Pulse external link . If you have any other questions please let us know
Where can I purchase a suitable extension lead for my Weber Pulse 2000
Hi Darrell We apologise for our delay in getting back to you. For your Pulse 2000 we would recommend purchasing a shorter extension lead, around 2 meters and a heavy duty outdoor grade. This will ensure the barbecue stays as hot as possible while you cook. If you have any further questions please let us know
Just bought a Weber Pulse 2000 BBQ. When I switch it on, after a couple of minutes it keeps tripping my RCD safety switch. It appears it's a faulty appliance. I am very disappointed, I thought Weber were better than this.
Hi Paul, thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you're having some issues with your Pulse! I'd love to help you here if possible, as it sounds like there might be too much load on that circuit and it's causing the trip.
Can you give us a call on 1300 301 290 and we can talk you through the best way to connect your Pulse in your home to avoid this issue. Some questions may include what type of outlet you're connecting to (i.e. straight into the wall, through a powerboard or extension cord, etc), what else is on the same circuit as the barbecue, how old is your unit, etc.
This has just happed to me.

How many AMPS per hour draw as an average from the 2000 series if running on caravan inverter / batteries
Hi Chris
Thank you so much for reaching out. The Pulse uses around 230 volts so we conducted a conversion and believe it would use around 18 amps per hour. Is there anything else we can help you with?
How many AMPS per hour does the 2000 use as an average?

Can you leave the control panel attached to your Weber pulse 1000 if it is covered with a Weber bbq cover and it sits on the bbq cart? In case of rain? Many thanks Jorgen
Hi Jorgen, you definitely can leave the control unit attached to the barbecue when storing as long as the cover is on. However you do have to consider the placement of your barbecue when outside even with a cover as extreme weather conditions (heat and rain) can still impact the barbecue.
We do reccomened to remove the control unit when not using the barbecue for periods at a time to help with the longevity of the control unit. Which you can best store in the provided box that came with the barbecue.
Many thanks for the advice
Yes but keep it undercover preferably
I have a Weber Pulse 2000 and so far, I like it as it is easy to use. Cleaning it however, is another story. I lined the bottom under the cooking grates with aluminum foil and that worked well for cleaning. I did not line the inside of the lid though and now it is so coated with grease I cannot get it clean. Any suggestions?
Hi Joan, great to hear you are enjoying your Pulse 2000. We do not recommend lining any barbecue with aluminium foil as this can increase the risk of a fat fire starting in the barbecue. For daily and general cleaning of the Pulse we recommend using a grill brush before or after each cook when the barbecue is hot. Then also a cook box scraper to use when the barbecue is cool to help scrap any debris that has remained in the cook box, which hasn't fallen through to the drip tray.
We have a a great video which takes you through the extra steps of cleaning the Pulse by removing the cook box and lid liners, you can watch this here: external link
When your barbecue cooks and creates that beautiful smoke to enhance your foods flavours this does create carbon and grease within the barbecue, but this normal and expected. But if you follow the steps in the above video for your Pulse this will help with continuing cleaning and maintenance, and keep your Pulse going for many many years!
I have always lined my Weber grills with Aluminum foil underneath the cooking grates and have never had a problem with fire or excess smoke because I have changed it often enough to keep it clean. With this Electric grill, the Weber Pulse 2000 I have also lined the pan that is under the cooking grates with aluminum but I have a very big problem keeping the underneath part of the grill lid, which is aluminum, clean. All of my other Weber grills did not have a lid lined with Aluminum. This is very difficult to keep clean.
Hi I've purchased webber electric pulse 2000, also purchased additional hot plate for eggs ect, is there another hot plate compatible to the electric 2000? We feel the hot plate is a poor design, takes up unnecessary cooking space, could we purchase a half hot plate from a different webber series
Can I use my Webber Q convection trays and tin foil dishes in my new Webber Pulse Thankyou
Probably not for the convection trays, but small tinfoil dishes would be ok. Weber says on the website that the maximum safe size for solid plates is 40x28cm (for the pulse 2000)so check the size of your trays.
Hi Sylvie, the Pulse barbecue does not require a convection tray as it uses a heating element and if you were to use a convection tray this can act as a deflecting agent and impact the heat circulation through the barbecue. This is also why we don't recommend using alfoil trays from the same reasons as it can impact the performance of your barbecue. We hope this helps.
Hi WBA! I would like to do roast beef or small half leg of lamb in my Pulse 1000. Can i use a small tinfoil tray on top of the grate to catch the drippings? I was thinking of putting the roast on top of a trivet on top of the tinfoil tray.
We just got given a pulse 2000, we immediately noticed that the right handed dial didn’t have the clicks/detents of the left left dial. Didn’t think much of it, buuuut we’ve now noticed that the right dial is stuck on full power.
The dial will rotate and hit the hard stops of the same as the left dial, but it’s like the spindle isn’t engaged.
Have tried to slide the dial off, but it doesn’t want to come easily.
Help.
Get in contact with Weber and they’ll help you straight away. They’ll probably send you out a new controller and you’ll likely get it the next day.
Hi Grant, we're saddened to hear about this and we can definitely help here! Are you able to send through some photos of the control knobs to social@weberbbq.com.au along with the serial number of the barbecue and your best contact details. We will be able to best assist from there - Thanks.
