Wellbuilt constructions Avalon license 57181C are not recommended – Well built constructions ( Simon King and 2 apprentices) were employed to erect a sunroom at my property. The job started reasonably well, however it rapidly deteriorated . There was almost no communication from the builder and what little there did occur was largely irrelevant or inncorect . I made the mistake of not having a contract in writing,… Read more

but we had verbally agreed I would pay for 1 hour of travel each way per person to my job site. At the first invoice this doubled to 2 hours travel each way, and there was no opportunity to discuss this. Response was “like it or I’ll leave. “.

The builder failed to follow verbal and written instructions from the engineer, certifier and myself as the client on multiple occasions. Structural beams were just left off as he forgot to instal them. Expensive commercial grade aluminium windows were fitted incorrectly and subsequently leaked significantly. ( I acknowledge the windows were missing a sil, however the builder should have known this and waited for the correct aluminium sil to be on site). Regardless, flashing was not installed and windows were never tested. Refitting the windows after the sil was fitted was also faulty as windows were out of plumb, again leaked although less and incorrect sealing compounds were used. All correspondence regarding the job went unanswered. I have documented many pages of faults, some of which are minor, but when there are so many, it all adds up.

I wouldn’t recommend wellbuilt constructions unless your job is very simple and you are not fussed about cost and attention to detail.
