My Westinghouse Dishwasher won't power up – I have another "no power at all" case of the Westinghouse WSF6602XR Dishwasher to report. It appears that many of these are destined to this fate. I have a all Westinghouse kitchen and was extremely happy with all the appliances, particularly the problem dishwasher, which was so quiet. Now it is eternally quiet. This machine is in my holiday house… Read more
and I would have used is less that 50 times. I was so happy with it I recommended Westinghouse to my mother, who then bought one., and I bought a second one (a later model) for my main house.
It completed a cycle wonderfully before the fault, on immediately starting a second load it failed to power. Can you please help? I have used this machine seldomly and it is of mint appearance as it has completed less than 50 cycles in its lifetime. Please restore my faith in your silent dishwashers so I may purchase a fourth Westinghouse dishwasher.
Disappointing – Went ok for the first 6 years then encountered the dreaded .20 error. I checked all the hoses and ran another cycle fine. The next time it was used was 2 days later and wouldn't turn on at all. Repair man said the main board needs replacing, unsure of cost but will be expensive. I would expect a dishwasher to last longer than this especially as we… Read more
always rinsed the dishes first and only used it every couple of days. We also have a Westinghouse oven which also had issues, so this will be the last time we will be buying Westinghouse.
No Power WSF6602XR Board Issue – Hi I have experienced the same issue where the board is faulty.I also got this mid 2012.Expected more than 5 yrs for this product. Have been trying to get in touch with customer representative about the issue.Strongly believe its product issue and they should either recall the product and give the customers a brand new product or replace the… Read more
part free of charge. Very disappointed with the product.
Called customer service today.Got told that they were going to send a tech to come and check the appliance out .As I am an electrician by trade they would not accept that my faultfinding, that the power board is faulty. Also I would have to pay for the technician's call out.Very disappointed when the product is faulty, and lot of customer complains falling on deaf ears.May be Kodak moment coming of Westinghouse products.Another customer gone!
Expected more – WSF6602 purchased late 2012. It was a good machine in until it just stopped working. The technician seemed clueless as to what had caused the problem (maybe he should read these reviews) They suggested taking it for further investigation at $110 collection and $35 per 15 minutes to which I declined. I expected more than 5 years out of it and… Read more
better service from Electrolux. After reading all the reviews, I wouldn't own one again. They have offered me a new machine for $698. I told them to go jump.
Garbage – Bought a westinghouse because of previous reputation for quality - our previous fridge lasted 28 years. First 3 years perfect. ...Then the control board completely failed. Bought a new one, worked for about a year (just after warranty ceased). Then the error 20 code started coming up every wash. Cleaned every hose and filter. Cleaned the… Read more
actual drain. Confirmed no kinks anywhere. Used dishwasher cleaner repeatedly. Whining noises progressively worse. Bought a new drain pump. Error noises continued, whining worse, error code 40 intermittent. Sometimes all controls locked and it runs without asking, like something out of a horror movie. If I replace the board again, I will have spent as much as a new dishwasher on repairs. Garbage.
Just over 2 years of use and I've joined the club. No power! – While our dishwasher (WSF6602XR) was fitted around 2012, it has only been used for just over 2 years and now we have the same problem as most of the other reviewers here, no power. We purchased a high end Display Home and leased it back to the builder until we moved in around 2 years ago. The dishwasher wasn't used prior to us using it and in… Read more
fact, wasn't even plugged in. Two years of using it 3 times a week, for two people is just RIDICULOUS . We won't be replacing it with the same brand, that's for sure. If you're only going to get 2 years out of a dishwasher you might as well buy a cheaper model and replace it every couple of years. Disposable dishwashers, great for the environment????
Very satisfied to begin with...for the first 18 months. Then, panel board was flashing...so called o – I have written my comments in the review section...my apologies. I've spent hundreds of dollars to technicians on 2 occasions for flashing/servicing and resets. STILL flashing after recent service, now having to purchase a NEW dishwasher. Very disappointed and very upset. I've been vigilant keeping up the cleaner cycle...I bought 4 Westinghouse… Read more

March 5th 2018 Update: Very Disappointed
I bought the westinghouse dishwasher, oven and cook top hot plates when we renovated five years ago.
The dishwasher has had three call outs in four and a half years...Now dead.
The oven ... Works now and then...Although fanforced...Uneven cooking.
The cook top largest hot plate has now died....
These westinghouse products have all failed within 5 years. Very disappointed and frustrated with these.
Worked until it didn't – The unit worked well for about 3 years, which is pretty good I guess in this day and age. Recently it stated leaving the dishes cold and wet, requiring hand drying and producing fault codes and stopping mid cycle. I then contacted westinghouse for a service manual or a way of deciphering the codes so I could either fix it my self or buy a… Read more
brand new machine.
The reply I got was they do not give this info to customers and i would need to pay $200 for a Tech to come out and do this....
$200 plus any parts pretty much make this a pointless exercise and I might as well buy a new new machine- A Bosh
Disappointed – Our dishwasher is only three years old and I see that it has been discontinued. We have been plagued be the error 20 flashing on the ECO cycle. The plumber has checked the water supply and the drain, all fine. Several times I have put a dishwasher cleaner through on the 30 minute cycle. It is spotless! Still flashing 20. I am so disappointed.… Read more

Going well so far – Bought this dishwasher about four years ago, and have been impressed with it so far. We specifically purchased this model due to its ability to wash large plates (we do a lot of entertaining at home). Had one small issue with the latch on the top drawer which broke, but managed to purchase a new one from the dealer and replace within three days (brilliant service from the NZ importer). Yes would buy another, or the newer model. Show details
Failed after 4 years - Does not power on at all – Has been working well for the past 4 years. A few nights ago I loaded the dishes, went to turn it on and no power at all. No lights nothing. There is power going to the dishwasher as I checked this with my ac voltage tester. Very disappointed that we purchased this product and its failed after 4 years. Expensive to purchase at the time and were… Read more
told that Westinghouse is a good brand. I now beg to differ especially spending well over $1000. Reading the comments it is probably another motherboard issue. Feeling very disappointed

Cheap product and no care for the customers - Westinghouse – I have lot of Westinghouse gadgets at home but now regretting as why did I choose this company, I spent a fortune and have had a good faith in the company. But recently my dishwasher broke down, no power nothing. I hardly use it 2 times a week and such kinda behaviour wasn't expected. the tech is $150 which is ridiculously high price, I agree to pay for the parts. Now I have called another company who charged me $80 call out which is acceptable. Westinghouse are you building a good rapport with your customers? I have to buy a new set of appliances for my another house , should I go with Westinghouse ?
4 years.. hot burning love and some dirty late nights (Now A Fire Hazard!!) – 4 years seems to be the magic number for issues with this model. I too bought all Westinghouse appliances for my brand spanking new kitchen and it was love at first sight but the love has faded over the years as it has had to be repaired 3 times in those 4 years. I love having errors thrown in my face when all I need is love and kindness and… Read more
clean dishes.
So right now it has this really cool feature where you turn your dishwasher on before bed because you can't be passed hand washing dishes after working all day, making dinner, helping with homework and baths. And during the night as if Outlander's Jamie Fraser was standing in front of it, the pump on the dishwasher turns itself on magically without anyone touching it. I wake in the morning to a burning electrical smell, it seems pretty toxic and has me worried, has it been going all freaking night? Why did it not wake me or was the hum of it's motor lulling me into a false sense of deep sleep? The only way to stop it is to crawl in under the sink, move the stinky bin where my 8 yr old has put meat scraps instead of the freaking freezer (srsly!) and turn the switch off. Having to open all windows and doors and turning fans on megablast to release the fumes before the family wakes is not my ideal 5am morning start when I should be sipping on chai tea and reading the latest news on my ipad before my family wakes and wreaks havoc on my peace! Can I just say at this time that the dishwasher is cleaned regularly (to the point of OCD) and used 4 to 5 times a week. I have checked hoses and tipped the dishwasher forward to empty out any water (thankyou youtube) with very little water actually coming out. This all night pump disco has been happening around every two weeks and I've gotten to the point now where I have to get out of bed in a half daze after falling asleep trying to watch for the 5th time one meagre episode of anything (I'm sure all parents can relate) to fight the stinky bin monster to turn the switch off at the wall.
The other wonderful thing that it has started doing is not cleaning... yes.. you heard right.. a dishwasher that doesn't clean the dishes. The dishwasher seems to be very picky with what it wants to clean. Is there a magical bigot fairy in there that will only clean the china dishes and anything else can just suck it? Pots and pans you can just forget even putting them in to wash.. they will end up staring you in the face when you open the door with their greasy faces and you end up curled up on the floor in tears at the thought of having to rewash everything when you paid for a reputable branded dishwasher, hoping for a lifelong relationship... I think we need to break up Westinghouse.

Taken to the cleaners.... Unreliable, expensive, disapointing – Our WSF6602XR was our pride and joy when purchased, no more dishwashing in the sink! Not for long! We spent extra on new appliances with a 'Good brand name' so they all matched in our kitchen, Westinghouse dishwasher, stove, range hood, oven etc. Most appliances have been good but this dishwasher has ruined what I believed to be a good brand… Read more
name. It has been plagued with a trifecta of warnings of course never appearing witnin the warranty period.
A so called quality machine like this should give more than 4-5 years of hassle free service.
.20, .40 and .00 sometimes a couple appearing at the same time. For the past 18months we have battled to keep our dishes clean, with the machine rarely completing a cycle.
Often a cycle will not start, other times stopping midway or near the end usually producing a .20. You can sometimes get through a cycle by pressing program button each time a error a occurs which will continue the wash. This results in an average clean.
Very rarely the stars may align resulting in clean dishes and an uninterrupted cycle.
When the .40 and .00 appear together the machines pump (I'm guessing) will run constantly And after a while if you haven't noticed in time, starts emitting a hot burning electrical type smell. The cancel function on the machine will not fix this or stop the machine from running with the .40 error. It can only be fixed by turning it off at the PowerPoint for a minute or 2 before turning back on. You then need to run a different wash program to get the machine to wash again or it will just .40 again.
All up it is a headache, a battle to keep the dishes and cuttlery of our family of 4 washed. I can now not let any other family member use the machine as I class it as dangerous.
Any potential buyers beware. Do not buy this brand!

Not Happy!!!!!!! – This Dishwasher is about 4 and a half years old and i would say on average it would have been use 2/3 times a week at most and the first 2 years of its life probably only got used once a month if at all as i was away from home working on FiFO basis. Died after only 4 years – Used about 2 times a week, so no excessive use, then on New Year's Day with it fully loaded, nothing, no power to the machine when pressing power button. Plug socket is working fine. Bought all new Westinghouse appliances for a new kitchen 4 years ago, can't believe the limited amount of work I got out of it compared to the other appliances that are either continually running and used everyday. Very disappointing. Show details
Burnt smell, trips breaker on heavy cycle – Has worked well in the 4 years we have owned but ONLY using "ECO" mode. If we use heavy, it smells like it will catch fire and always trips the circuit breaker. Will not buy a Westinghouse/Electrolux again if this is common quality out of the box. I've only bothered writing this now as I tried heavy mode again recently and it actually… Read more
destroyed my circuit breaker. Had no power on that breaker to anything and had to call an electrician. Wouldn't have to do this if it worked properly to begin with. Something clearly not correct if it smells like burning on heavy mode (70 degrees).

I would "NOT" recommend a westinghouse dishwasher – Came home last night to put the standard load of plates in the dishwasher to find that it would no longer power on. After reading further reviews it seems westinghouse have some explaining to do with a common issue face with the WSF6602XR model. When your spending $1200 on a dishwasher you would expect it to last longer than four years when its… Read more
used one to twice a week.I have already emailed westinghouse linking my complaint to others listed on productreview. Stay clear of this model and other westinghouse dishwashers.
Suddenly stopped working. Doesn't power up any longer! – Four years old and suddenly stopped working. Had no issues and without any warning is not turning on any longer. Reading the comments probably another motherboard issue! You would expect longer life for a $1200 dishwasher.. What a shame as was working fine until this and doing good job in terms of washing results as well. Show details

Multiple issues, buy a different brand – When it works it's fine but you can see that not a lot of love has gone into the design and function. The filter is awkward to clean and parts have broken off it already. $50 to replace this bit of plastic. If it's not cleaned every time you get an error .20 message. We've had the repairman out twice for this 4yo machine - have easily spent the… Read more
same amount we paid for it again on repairs. Failed control board almost immediately. We spent good money on a 'quality' machine to avoid this. Westinghouse has really gone downhill (our rangehood packed it in immediately too, when a cockroach walked over the electrics). Now my dishwasher has an .40 error message - as far as I can tell the manual doesn't even tell you what that means.
Disappointing to say the least – Sorry to say I am experiencing the same as everyone else. Unit will not power up at all, checked for blockages, etc. but still no power to the unit. I also bought 2 Extra Years warranty from the store when I purchased it in November 2011. Thought it would last a lot longer to be quite honest. I also have a Kitchen full of Westinghouse products including oven, cooktop, refrigerator.

Disappointed it didn't last longer than 4 years. I thought Westinghouse was a high quality brand? – We had this dishwasher installed as part of our house and land package. We were assured that we were getting a top brand dishwasher so we expected to get several years of use out of it. Turns out we did a lot better than some people on here but at almost 4 years to the day since it was installed, we started getting the i20 error too and it stopped… Read more
draining. We did the usual troubleshooting and found no blockages. Instead there is a black scorch mark up near what we assume is the drainage pump. The pump seems to have shorted out. Luckily it didn't catch fire is all I can say.
Called Westinghouse and the want $145 just to come look at it. I assume they will want us to pay for parts etc too even though this seems to be a common problem. Consumer Affairs have said that it should be covered still as it didn't last a reasonable amount of time and shows a lack of durabilty. Someone has suggested we'd be better off just buying a new dishwasher. If that ends up being the case, I'll be staying away from Westinghouse.

Same as everyone else – Warranty has not long run out. Same problem as everyone else, went to use it, no power. Hasn't been used too extensively either, not sure what to do now based on all the comments below, bin it or pursue Electrolux for a fix. Hope the same doesn't happen to the Westinghouse Oven, came as a pair when we renovated the kitchen. Might let our kitchen reno guys know for future reference.
Poor quality dishwasher and Worst brand to deal with – Negative ratings should be created for this product. Brought new and now just 2 years old and this unit has the error 20 appearing. Found out from this website that this is a common 'feature' (DEFECT) others have experienced. Customer service doesn't want to know about it as it's just passed warranty. repair cost will be $200 + parts and it will probably fail again in a year so undecided if I should fix it or not. Real lemon !!!

E20 – Hi, Bought the dishwasher 3 years ago, was happy for 2.5 years, now E20 starts appearing like happens for everyone else. Contact customer support over the phone with no reply, now also emailed them. Need Electrolux to fix it for all of us, can't buy a new dishwasher because their quality is bad. Amit
Once again - Same as others - Main PCB failed after only 3 years – So very disappointing. It seems we have the same issue as everyone else, dishwasher just died after 3 years. Along with very poor service from Westinghouse. When I contacted them a few weeks ago, it seemed they were surprised we had this problem (when they are obviously aware of the issue). Its about time to admit there is a problem and rectify it Westinghouse. I will NEVER buy products from this company again either!

Same as others - Main PCB failed after a few years - not good value – Only a few years old (3 or 4). Stopped draining - Service found main control printed circuit board faulty, similar to other's experience. The cost of the repair will likely be more than a new dishwasher. Very disappointing. I would not expect this model to fail in such a consistent way, which suggests a manufacturing issue.
Same Old Story – Bought the dishwasher in Feb. 2012, it's used maybe twice a week. One day power wouldn't turn on so I called the local repair mob. They took the unit and called me a couple of days later saying the main board needs to be replaced. Going to cost $405.50 plus labour. It's three and a half years old and it seems to be a common issue. Piss-weak.

Disappointed – Same story as everyone else So the dishwasher has had the '20' error in the past which I have had fixed by a repair man under warranty, which has ran out now and now the machine won't stop, the motor continues to run unless I turn it off at the wall. I have a '30' error with this and can't get it to work! Was very happy with the cleaning and timeliness and the quietness but the reliability is extremely poor. Not good enough!
