We have a wsf6602xb Westinghouse dish washer. No matter what setting we try to wash on, it only allows us to wash on P1. I have tried resetting it even hard, resetting it by switching it off but it keeps doing the same. Any suggestions to fix this?

I have recently purchased a WSF6602XB and it's the worst dish washer I've owned unfortunately. :( It never washes dishes properly I have to put it on multiple cycles to get dishes clean. Why could this be?

Check the easy stuff first. Is the filter clean? Are the holes in the spray arms clogged with food particles? Are you adding the right amount of detergent? If all these are fine, try to establish whether the water pump enables a good flow through the spray nozzles - just open the door during a cycle and you should be able to see and hear water falling from the spray arms. You might also need to check that the water heater is working - is the water during a cycle actually warm?

We have a Westinghouse WSF-6605 dishwasher. We have had error code 10, 20, 40 as well as FO. The manual doesn’t describe this last one. Now the water isn’t draining. Any ideas? The washer is about 6-7 years old.

I have a Westinghouse Dishwasher WSF6605XR which has ceased to function and shows a fault '.20' on the screen. The appliance was in the unit when purchased 2 years ago so not sure of age. It has been fine until now. The manual describes this fault as being due to an inability to drain or lack of water supply. Checked the filter in floor of appliance and that is squeaky clean. What can the problem be? No trouble washing until yesterday, water supply fine. Any other causes/fixes?? Mike

Hi guys same problem as everyone else dishwasher just stops working have pulled it apart and taken out the board and did some research seems the board configured EDW isn't working another cost of $173 seems like this should be replaced for free as there is hundreds of cases of this board stopping working I can put it in myself and save $150 tech guy coming down but still seems to be priced over-the-top for something that shouldn't fail so commonly.

I keep getting error 00 on my Westinghouse wsf6605xr what is the fault

A number of people have flashing 00 and 40. I had this. I suspect it’s to do with one of the circuit boards. Mine had vermin excrement fouling tracks and components. Nice place for cockies to live. This type of issue is likely to show as an intermittent fault over time. Electrical items get bridged by excrement. Excrement gradually eats away at coatings. Varying moisture in the excrement provides electrical bridge. If you’re handy you can pull the 2 boards out and inspect. They’re housed in the door. Make sure power is unplugged. Take plenty of pictures as you go to help you relocate everything. Remove screws along inside edge of door. The lower 2 or 3 secure the door skin. The others secure the plastic control panel piece. From memory, don’t remove the 2 big ones at the top, they secure the door catch. Once you have the thing apart, the boards are in white plastic housings. It’s pretty obvious how to remove and access them but a bit fiddly. Just make sure you know where to plug everything back in.

If you can see vermin crap all over them, probably black smears, carefully clean them with methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol. You can use a clean cloth and/or cotton wool bud. Use a magnifier if you have one. Check forensically along all component legs, tracks etc.

I have another "no power at all" case of the Westinghouse WSF6602XR Dishwasher to report. It appears that most of these are destined to this fate. I have a all Westinghouse kitchen and was extremely happy with all the appliances. Particularly the problem dishwasher which was so quiet. No it is eternally quiet. This machine is in my holiday house and I would have used is less that 50 times. I was so happy with it I recommended Westinghouse to my mother, who then bought one., and I bought a second one (a later model) for my main house.

It completed a cycle wonderfully before the fault, on immediatlely loading a second load it failed to power. Can you please help? I have used this machine seldomly and it is of mint appearance as it has completed less than 50 cycles in its lifetime. (Probably about 30 cycles in its entire life time). Restore my faith in your wonderfully silent dishwashers so I may be responsible for a fourth Westinghouse dishwasher purchase.

Regards, George

Our wsf6602 Westinghouse dishwasher power switch is not working. There is power to the machine - it shows on the multi meter. We are now in lock down due to Covid-19. Any ideas welcomed. :( No repair people.

Same symptoms here. R10 on the circuit board tests as open circuit and I'm trying to find out what value it's supposed to be - the colours are quite faded.

What is error .40 on a 6603 unit? This code is not mentioned in the manual

Rohan
Rohan

I think this is a problem with the dishwasher and like you said the error code is not in troubleshooting guide. What I generally do is turn the dishwasher off and after a little while turn it back on again and it usually fixes itself and finishes the cycle. If it persists and hoping you are still under warranty call the tech in.

Dishwasher will not drain. Its likely 5 or 6 years old. I think too old to gamble on a service tech. So before i go replace it I thought id do some DIY investigation. Machine makes a ticking niose as well as the usual hum. This made me suspect maybe something that is interupting the impeller. Eventually it shows an error20 but it tries to operate for quite a while before it faults. So having disconnected everything and tipping on its back i removed the plastic cover underneath then removed the drain pump. The impella is in good condition and moves freely. Motor has slight smell but I expect if it were burnt out it would smell more. I could pour water backward through the drain hoes and no blockage. I cleaned all filters but don't think there was anything that I cleaned off that would have cause a total blockage. I also removed the door panel to check all wiring was in tact and all is well. It all appears fairly clean and orderly. What do you think the chances are that it is a faulty pump? How many other causes of the problem could there be? I am deciding if I should order a pump and wait a week for delivery or just replace it now. Thanks in advance. Mark

I had the same problem and did basically the same steps as you. The pump seems to be working just fine so I think it's a sensor that isn't working properly. There was some gunk blocking a little hole in the sump cavity? I cleared that out and the machine worked like a dream for a week or two, unfortunately it's started again last night so I'll try it once more then it's time for a new dishwasher.

Jason C.

The King is correct, there is a small tube coming off the bottom sump which has a sensor on the end, This tube gets blocked up with grease/fat and the machine cant determine if the water is fully drained and continues to whir. Simple fix to pull sensor off and blow down the tube. Requires it to be done every year or two....less often if you use washing machine cleaner every now and again.

Our Westinghouse Dishwasher WSF 6605 WR will not complete a cycle but throws an error code - .20. It is 4 years old. 10 months ago we had a problem. Repair man came and replaced pressure switch and main P.C. board at a cost of $411, This latter is still under warranty. However, we have just been told that the callout fee now is $120 and that is before any diagnosis or cure. If we go ahead with this, we have spent almost as much as a new dishwasher. Westinghouse, what should we do?

Hi Claire, This dishwasher was used in a single male household where the occupant is away with work for over half the year , so over the 4 year time frame it has had very little use. Did not think I wold have had much luck with a warranty claim so I decided to cut my loses and purchased a basic Beko unit for $500 delivered. Beko are offering a 5 year warranty at the moment so that swayed me. Credit to Westinghouse though , as they did ask me to contact them through this website , however , I had already purchased the Beko. Also had a small Westinghouse fridge that also died after 2 1/2 years , but again to their credit , they replaced the unit without a question. I think their Australian staff are very well meaning in their endeavors to help the customer , but I don't feel comfortable purchasing their appliances. Think the actual manufacturing arm needs to lift it's game.

With dishwasher turned off. Try laying dishwasher on its side for a few minutes this does a number of things. Its a sensor issue. You may have to do this every 3-6 months. Repair person will charge you hundreds of$$ for this simple trick.

I had this problem. Coincided with a problem with the pressure relief valve for my house water supply (in my case located next to the Hot water cylinder) which resulted in lower pressure was being supplied to the dishwasher. When I replaced the pressure relief valve, higher pressure in house and the dishwasher problem (error code .20) also resolved.

Sam W

Update to above: Convinced I've nailed the problem now. It was a combination of low pressure, kinked outlet pipe, and filters that were not entirely clean (keep them like new). Problem is now solved!!
