Vegies frozen and failed to cool in 5.5 yrs – The vegies were getting frozen mostly as the insulator from the freezer was not good. In 5.5 years the fridge just stopped. I had to replace a new fridge. Easy to open and close. Show details

Sample title says it all! Can’t live without it, I’d give 5*’s but for noise – I fell in love with this fridge. Being (a lot) space constricted in new Reno and having been coveting a bottom mount for ages, (I've never understood humans and top mount, you’d think we always ate out of the freezer!) The fridge is to die for. It’s only for one but could easily service small family, the freezer not so much, but I’ve always had a… Read more

problem with that balance.as I also like to freeze a lot. However, freezer does consist of drawers, ( a must) and not useless or jammy. It would not be able to hold past 2 maybe 3 large veggie bags, maybe a pack of sausages, maybe cutlets, (couldn’t hold a roast) and some icecream and bottle of water I was surprised how long food was kept fresh in really impressive crisper, that even has diagram chill guide and EVERYTHING is adjustable. It’s a little on the loud side but not enough to keep you up at night OR have the.neighbours knocking at your door, lol, GREAT FRIDGE

Westinghouse Fridge for 3 people. Bottom Freezer WBB3700WG – Great design. Spacious. Good for 3 people particularly if you use a freezer a lot. BUT -surprisingly noisy. Sounds like a train sometimes. Fine if your fridge is away from a bedroom or quiet living room. Show details

Great fridge – Very happy, looks nice and sleek, so far works perfectly well, enough space for three adults. It might be a little noisy but that doesn’t bother me. Vege Drawer slides off the rails when you open it – Love the fridge for space but a major problem with the vege drawer always sliding off its rails when you open drawer. Its tricky to put back on especially if you have a few vege like carrots with some weight in the drawer. The other thing that is annoying is the strange sound it makes every so often. I guess it the fan as it is a loud whirring noise that goes for a bit then stops. I would not recommend this fridge for these reasons.  Show details

Nice fridge but room for improvements – I bought this fridge since it is the only one under 600-650mm wide category, which is very essential for my tiny cabinet space for fridges. So far, about 3 years, I cannot fault it much, apart from the poor temperature control, i.e. you can never know what temperature you are setting at, that sliding thing is just useless. And the construction… Read more

quality inside seems a bit poor, the shelves and crisper often get stuck in the position, and off the railing; but the newer model has exactly the same problem...

Only the best – As usual, Westinghouse comes up Trumps with this superb model. It maintains a flawlessly good temperature in all compartments and keeps fruit and veggies nice and fresh. It is super quiet which we have found is a beneficial trademark with the brand. It is also very easy to clean with nice rounded corners and removable accessories and shelves. I cannot recommend WESTINGHOUSE highly enough.  Show details

Can't complain - it keeps my food cold! – Perfectly good fridge, no complaints at all! Doesn't leak, break-down, freeze things (in the fridge part, of course it does in the freezer). It is the perfect size for a small apartment and stops you from over filling it. The shelves are moveable so you can customise the fit. Thanks!  Show details

Love it! – We bought this fridge/freezer combination in March 2015 and it is still working very well. I really struggle to fit things in, esp. when I buy meat and want to freeze it.

The silvergrey colour of the front doors really appeal to us. The ONLY thing I have to complain about is that the veggie compartment often gets its drawer bottom frozen up - so there must be some insulation issue. I have had carrots and other stuff in the first layer frozen from time to time.

Great fridge for small space – The fridge has a surprisingly large interior for its size. Shelves are easy to move and the capacity for bottles is generous. Vegetable tray has a variety of settings and leafy greens stay fresh for a week. The exterior is easy to keep clean and finger narks are removed with household spray. It is a bit noisier than the expensive European fridge it replaced but at 1/4 of the price I can easily live with that.  Show details

Multiple issues - not happy with this fridge – I bought this fridge a few years ago and now I’m having multiple issues. My crisper freezes the vegetables despite efforts at changing temperatures and settings etc. The far bigger issue though is the fridge is making a loud buzzing sound intermittently throughout the day and night, it seems to be getting louder and there must be a fault with the fridge. Great Fridge – Great fridge!! Temperature is even throughout the fridge and freezer. It is very quiet and glass shelves which just need a quick wipe over to clean in the door movable trays you can also slide them to any position in the door. Overall the freezer is a bit on the small side but with careful management, you can fit a lot in.

Old dog can learn new tricks – An ancient writer credited with the adage, You can't teach an old dog new tricks, seems to have got it wrong! That's how I feel after settling in with our brand new Westinghouse refrigerator and freezer. For the first time, we opted for a 'bottom freezer' design - and that meant changing a lifelong habit of reaching for the top door handle to… Read more

access the freezer.

Many times during the first few weeks I found myself opening the wrong door - not a serious error, of course, but a little annoying.

Another wise old owl from the past, who suggested old habits die hard, was pretty accurate because they do eventually 'die', and I am now enjoying the easy access to the top fridge compartment with the less-used freezer being relegated to the bottom.

It makes good design sense to have the fridge sections smack back right in front of you, without any need to stoop or squat and peer into the shelves, or rummage through the vege bin.

The drinks and milk shelves on the door inside are now right beside me. I expect the ease of access to translate to a saving in energy as the door is open for shorter periods.

This would hold true for the freezer, which has three drawers and a handy ice-maker. The drawers not only allow some necessary organisation of the contents but protect them from exposure to the ambient air when the door is open. Every parent and grandparent knows how toddlers love to have some ice cubes.

Now we can let a three-year-old feel just oh so grown up to get his own ice :), withpout any panic to get the door closed in a nano-second.

But let's get back to the top-of-fridge, and mind, issues ... The Westinghouse WBB3700WA is a marvellously narrow 60cm wide but still has a 370-litre spec.

For us, the width was crucial as the previous owner allowed a fridge bay of just 70cm wide, with a pantry one side and a wall-mounted oven on the other.

We moved in with a much-loved Westinghouse Silhouette, a gentle giant that served the family faithfully for probably about 15 years. But at almost 80cm wide it was too fat to fit in the kitchen, so for quite some time we had it running a few metres from where it was needed.

Oh, it has been glorious to find a good fridge for that narrow bay. And the plate on the WBB3700WA says it has 256L food storage capacity up top and 87L down below.

The fridge interior is well lit from a big panel at the back and the glass shelves are handy. The old fridge had plastic-coated wire shelves, which had some breakdown over the years. Ah ha, this issue is now passe.

Spills are inevitable in any fridge and the glass shelves in our new unit catch them and make the mop-up simple.

A ventilation guide on the vege drawer to show the setting for the various produce is handy. We noticed ice forming in the bottom of the vege drawer, just above the freezer, so adjusted the freezer temperature, which has solved the problem.

I guess the 10-egg tray is tolerable, even though we buy them by the dozen in Australia. Not an issue. There's space on the shelves for a carton ot two (eggs, I mean).

Industry practice is to describe units like the WBB3700WA as 'bottom-mount refrigerators', which puzzles me a bit.

Shouldn't they be called 'bottom-mount freezers'? Oh well, who cares? We're happy.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK – This is my first upside down fridge & I love it. It is so much easier to access all levels of the fridge & the drawers in the freezer are fantastic. It is quiet, stays frost free & has excellent movable shelving to accommodate even the largest bottles. I will never go back to a "normal" fridge again.

Design fault in the water draining system – We recently purchased a 370 liter bottom mount fridge freezer WBB 370 WF. After the first week we thought it may be a good idea to check the water draining system and it was just as well that we did!!. The system that is installed on the 370 litre fridge freezer looks like something that would be a general purpose fit all fridges type of… Read more

thing, obviously a cost saving measure.

When we managed to remove the container from the top of the motor it had quite a lot of water in the center part, which was not surprising given the design of the water catching container.

The water catching container has two partitioning ribs dividing the container into three parts, the problem is that the ribs are full height, the water drains into the center part and the drain tube is in the right hand part ??, someone had not thought this one through.

There is no way the water could get from the center part to the right part where the drain tube is without running over the edge onto the floor, which was highly likely because the container was on a lean and impossible to position so it was level, whoever designed this water draining system needs their head read.

If we had not looked at our fridge, we would very soon have had a rotten floor because of the water running over the sides of the water catching container, if it had been left in place for 22 years like our old fridge it may have disappeared into the basement when it fell through the rotten floor.

Who would have been responsible for the repairs ?, after all it is a design fault with the fridge, would Westinghouse be responsible for the repairs to the floor ??

It is fortunate for Westinghouse that we found the design fault and fixed it!!

I cut a piece out of the partitioning rib between the center and right side container, then cut part of the drain tube stand pipe away, now there is very little water accumulating in the center part or the right drain side, and the water runs down the drain tube into the evaporator tray as it should.

I also managed by the use of a packer and foam pads to position the drain container so it is level and firmly in place, it no longer vibrates on top of the motor, and the fridge is now quieter without the annoying vibration noise.

Also when the fridge was installed the adjustable foot cap on the hinge side was the same as the non hinge side, it would not adjust because it was too deep and was jammed up against the hinge flange, the instructions for the hinge reversing kit showed the feet caps should be different, there should be a deep one and a shallow one.

I cut 5mm off the top of the foot cap on the hinge side and it works well, it now has room to roll up and down the adjustment screw.

I am guessing the foot caps were the same because the manufacturer ran out of the correct foot caps for the hinge side and decided to fit the wrong foot cap anyway, after all who would notice ?.

Other than that the fridge is OK the freezer is a bit small, the fridge was one of only two that would fit into our space, the other was the two drawer Mitsubishi which would have been nice, but hindsight is always 20 20 vision.

If you have a Westinghouse fridge check the water drain system and the state of your floors.

Rubbish...either everything in the crisper freezes, or you turn the temp up and everything is warm – I bought this fridge as it was the only one that could be taken up our stairs. Better than expected: good size, smart simple looking, 3.5 star! low electricity use, cheap price! – This inexpensive, excellent 370 litre Bottom Mount Westinghouse fridge at (was $899 at GG's) has many good features and as much space as fridges that are $1500 or more and still don't offer this. This fridge offers a lot more space than the Westinghhouse 340 litre one, but for not much more money. It is available in white and silver. We got white… Read more ·  1

as a match an all white kitchen.

The best thing is it is 3.5 star rated on the new system and uses only 344 KWhr/yr power!! So the Westinghouse WBB370WF is very cheap to run. That is less electricity than many of the best expensive, inverter fridges such as the LG and Panasonic!

The fact is also has separate temperature control in the fridge and freezer parts is great, this also saves you money too, as you are not powering the whole fridge, if it is just the freezer that needs to quickly chill something.

There is more space than expected in the top refrigerator, which is exactly what we were looking for, as the freezer is not too big, as a 370 litre fridge, it has a 270 (267) litre fridge and 104 litre freezer.

(It is worth considering that nearly all 450 litre bottom mount fridges have 150 or 155 litre freezers, which leaves you with a comparatively small 300 litre or less fridge. For these other brands of 450 ltre what you think is a medium size 450 litre fridge is a small refrigerator with very big expensive freezers at the base. Really can't see the point of paying around $2000 for that.)

Another pro is this slim, medium size Westinghouse bottom mount fridge has concealed integrated door handles on BOTH sides! The fridge has an absolutely plain front face, there is no detailing fashion to date, which is a great clean look, and with no handles protruding there's no parts on the front to get dirt around them plus these doors are easily reversible for the future.

Yes it has a handy, basic twist and serve ice maker in the freezer, that works fine.

The freezer also has 3 pull out drawers which are great as it's very easy to see what's in them, but sadly they are not on rollers either. Never-the-less this makes the fridge easier to maintain. It was good that we could completely removed all shelves and drawers without any fuss to wash them and it was very easy to clean them and reinstall them.

This fridge has solid, easy to clean, glass shelves.

The Crisper is solid with a humidity vent (but there are no slider wheels for the crisper, that's a real shame) and same or better than high rating Mitsuibishi fridges which we checked...they had been on my wish list until I discovered Mitsuibishi have surprisingly rattly cheap loose drawers.

Lighting in the Westinghouse Bottom Mount 370 litre fridge is sufficient and is tower style but I'd like it to be a bit brighter. No light in freezer but the clear acrylic drawers pull out, so it is easy to see into them.

The Alarm feature works well, we found the beeper is clear to hear, but not too noisy or obtrusive.

The back has full metal panels that covers the workings at the back, and protect them from dust - there is just a very small area 300mm from ground is open for ventilation. It also has wheels at the back of the fridge making wheeling into small spaces a breeze.

This simple, urban, good fridge is popular, it had sold out around Sydney and GG's only had a few white left. The size suits a 2, ideally, or 3 person household, that do not need vast freezer space but want a good size fridge for everyday foods. The egg shelf has a top egg holder bit we removed - so now have an extra door shelf. Eggs are happier in cartons.

You are warned that the thing we hate is the subtle stipple leather plastic look of the sides either white or grey depending on what color fridge you get, you'll find the same sides on the very expensive current LG inverter fridges and some others that also have this - why? it is horrible finish - but not a problem if putting into a cavity in the kitchen. Given this Bottom Mount Westinghouse WBB3700SF fridge has a nice plain metal front and back why, why could they not continue this on the sides? Yet I am less concerned by having this on an inexpensive fridge but it would be totally furious and unaccaptable on a more expensive one.

We are finding the Bottom Mount Westinghouse WBB3700SF or WBB3700WF runs quieter than our old Fisher Paykel that used to sing and sigh, and it fits as much in it as our old 450 litre fridge.

All round it is a really good value at under $900, for a reasonable size, simple, modest modern fridge, suited to small households with a lovely plain front, without any fashion detailing on the front exterior that will date, it is easy to look after and move, and super economical to run, using very little electricity.
