Stainless steel quality is pathetic – Took it out of the box and wiped the dust off with a damp rag and that alone left scratches. I don’t even think it’s stainless more like aluminium. Absolutely pathetic quality of material.

Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $990.

Do not purchase! – I am very disappointed with my Westinghouse gas cooktop as it’s the second one within 12 months. The first had scratches & replaced under warranty. Now rust & other marks are appearing on the second cooktop which cannot be wiped off. The stainless steel is definitely not of high quality as simply cooking veggies in water should not cause this damage! I’ve followed your recommended cleaning instructions but these marks are permanent & cannot be removed using soap & water. The stainless steel appears pitted just from everyday cooking. Our house is newly built 1 year old & our kitchen is fitted with Westinghouse appliances including 702L French Door fridge, dishwasher, pyrolytic AirFry oven & rangehood. It is unacceptable to have this happen especially when I am taking the upmost care. Cooking rice or boiling some vegetables, a mess free simple task should not result in the stovetop forming rust & other marks. How did this product pass a quality control test?
