Good idea but unreliable – Started out fine, easy to use, convenient and quiet way to make a cuppa. Now after a few months the water only comes out lukewarm when set to 100deg. Resetting doesn’t seem to do anything. Back to boiling the reliable ol’ jug! Show details

Gee I gave it 3 stars, given that we haven't used it for months now, in hindsight I should have given only 1 star. Really want my money back.

Has worked really well for 2+ years – Bought this for a small office, used all day every day and not missed beat, a lot better than a kettle. Show details

Buy a new Kettle. They are just as fast, don't have child locks and can do more that 300ml at a time – When you make a cuppa with a kettle you push the button and it starts and with better kettles around, by the time I've run my coffee through the grinder, grabbed the milk and sugar the kettle is ready to make the cuppa. With this you have to stand there and hold the unlock key and If you cup is bigger that 300ml you have to wait to adjust it and… Read more

start again if you don't make it back in time it relocks and you have to unlock it again. For instant hot water its about as far from instant you can get and my kettle doesn't need a child lock. I came here because ours just broke after 7 months and was looking for a fix but after thinking about it I don't want it back.

Poorly designed – We bought this hot water dispenser in May 2021. It worked fine for 6 months until the day it malfunctioned. There was smoke & a burning smell so we took it back to Harvey Norman. The technician said it just needed to be reset. You are given this tiny plastic key, have to tip the unit on it's back (after emptying all the water out) & try to insert… Read more

this tiny plastic key into a tiny hole underneath the unit. This done the unit seemed to work ok for a couple of weeks. Then it started malfunctioning on a weekly basis, for no apparent reason. After resetting it continuously for the last six weeks we returned it to Harvey Norman for a full refund. Would not recommend this product at all.

Handy machine but – A little dissappoining as the cup levels are odd sized, as too much for some and little in other mugs. Little bit steamy on front of machine when using.. After 3 months the display lost some information such as 100 degrees now reads 00 and the lock screen is blank. Im following it up with harvey norman now but will be buying one for my elderly… Read more

parents to avoid lifting heavy kettle for them. Would buy another and hopefully no more screen issues. Update...returned to harvey norman and was replaced.. have had new one with no issues at all for almost a year so far. This one dosent even get screen fog.. brilliant will buy another.

Westinghouse Hot water Dispenser – Bought one of these the other day as I am tired of the sound electric kettles work. It’s a good unit, easy to use and works quite well. Couple of things they could do is make the ability to have 50ml increments. I find 200 a bit to short and 300 a bit to long. Also I measured the water temperature and it hovers around 90 degrees Celsius, which falls in the +\- as in the instruction book. Overall happy with the unit so far Show details

Dump your kettle and move into the future – Huge capacity, energy saving and near silent, this has kettles beat every way you look at it. Instant hot water for coffee/tea/filling pots and simple to use. Suction cup feet ensure it won't be pulled off the bench by little people, and choice of drip trays cater for small or large mugs. Easy to fill, just lift the lid and pour water in from a… Read more

jug. Only caveat is that it should be descaled monthly to keep in tip-top shape, which is slightly less convenient than a kettle, but well worth it the occasional effort for the daily convenience.

No Brainer Heating Baby Bottles – Made life so much easier, especially for bottle feeds in the middle of the night. No waiting for kettle to boil. Hold lock button & press start (previous temperature & volume stored) no thinking required & only takes 7 seconds. Impatient baby happy & cut night time feeding times. Great for a single cup of tea or coffee. Much less wear & tear on kettle. No fuss & don't bother with fiddly bottle warmers!! Show details

Poor Temperature water Luke warm disappointing – We have bought this to replace a Tefal one cup, the water that is dispensed is not 100* no where near, we are having to microwave it. I’m going to try resetting but if nothing changes it’s going back. Show details

Worked fine at first but only warm water now – Seemed great for the first month or two ... but eventually we found ourselves pre-heating the cups or the drink would only be lukewarm, even then, it still wasn't producing a hot cup of tea. Using a digital thermometer the water coming right out of the spout was 76 degrees Celsius when the temp was set for 100. We'll check the warranty and see what happens. So far ... disappointing as it was a great idea and worked well at first. Show details

Perfect hot water dispenser in the kitchen – No wasting electricity on full jugs. This kettle gives you a cup of boiling water in less than a minute. It is easy to set up for different cup sizes and you can also adjust the temperature with a push of the button. It has an elegant finish and would blend with most kitchen decor. A very efficient and functional kitchen aid.

Convenient, safe, energy saving. Love it! – After my Tefal died, I was distraught to discover they had been discontinued and there was no reliable replacement. Then along came Westinghouse. Pros: Great 4 litre capacity (Tefal was only 1 or 2); looks pretty (silver squarish shape fits better in the corner than Tefal did); quiet (MUCH quieter than the Tefal which sounded like a possum… Read more

on heat); variable volume options (100, 200, 300 mL); variable temperature options (up to 100 degrees C); last temperature and volume request stays in memory so next cup is just a matter of unlocking and pressing "start"; can't be accidentally activated as system locks after use and button needs to be pressed and held to unlock.

Cons: Need a jug to refill from the tap as the reservoir is not removable but at 4L this is not much of an issue; spout sits quite high so needs the supplied extender under the tray for most cups which could slot together a little better than it does; measuring window is on the right hand side of the tank only which may be obscured in some placements.

This product is pretty, convenient and faster than a kettle for one or two cups. It is also more energy efficient and much quieter if you have an open plan kitchen/living area. I want all my friends to have one!

PS you can also get a saucepan under it if you want to start with near boiling water.

Fantastic First Model - Fast and Easy – We upgraded from a regular kettle to this Instant Hot Water Dispenser and although it has a few kinks to work out, it's far and above an electric kettle. For one, I can just press the button and choose the temp and quantity, and either choose to fill a cup for tea, or fill an entire pot to put on the stove, and it's ALL instant! It's so much… Read more

quieter than a normal kettle so it doesn't wake up everyone in the house if someone is getting a cuppa early. I love that it has a 4L water tank, so I'm not always having to fill it.

Some kinks it needs to work out:

1. The quantity (100ml, 200ml, 300ml) isn't always accurate, so it can vary from cup to cup. Not sure how to calibrate this. It's only minor but it does make a difference when your cup gets too full.

2. The display words are very hard to read - the lights are fine, but the actual "buttons" themselves. Anytime a friend is over they can't figure it out on their own. It's fine if you are the regular user though.

Overall, we are very happy with this purchase and are considering buying one for my elderly mother-in-law to prevent any possible hot water burns with the kettle as she gets older and not as strong.
