Lasted 2 years and 4 months then died. Has had very little use, mostly just run a few minutes to warm or defrost. Westinghouse not interested when I contacted them. I bought all new Westinghouse items for my renovated kitchen. Never again, they can stick their products. Show details

Badly designed – Works ok. Odd "Menu" selections. Touch screen hard to read. Pale grey on black background. What were designers thinking? Maybe they didn't.

Impressed with performance, aesthetics, and affordability – I purchased this microwave one month ago and am really impressed with it. The stylish black colour adds a modern touch to our kitchen. The microwave's quick start features make it convenient for our busy family. At $199, it offers great bang for buck. With its 40L capacity, it easily accommodates our family of four and surprisingly fits my rather… Read more

large plates. Overall, I highly recommend this product for its performance (note, we only use to reheat, not to cook meals from scratch), aesthetics, and affordability.

Disappointed – Of course this microwave suddenly started sparking two months after one year warranty ran out. I thought Westinghouse would be a great product. The bigW microwave I replaced it with at half the price has a two year warranty .It pays to shop around and don’t just trust a brand Show details

A disappointing microwave from a trusted manufacturer – Back in early 2019 we went looking for a new microwave to replace the then 9 year old LG unit. Requirements were large capacity cavity, large glass rotating plate, high power, preferably old school touchpad and a kitchen timer. Advanced cooking features were not required, even though they can't be avoided, just wanted to enter a time and press go!… Read more

Choices came down to the then current models Samsung, LG NeoChef and this Westinghouse.

We ended up choosing the WMF4102BA Westinghouse as it was the simple old school unit that met all the requirements. Unfortunately after purchase we found a number of disappointing shortcomings.

1. After about 7 to 9 minutes of cooking time it goes into longer and longer cooling periods during cooking cycle. It eventually gets to a 20 to 30 sec off and 30 to 40 sec on split. Westinghouse say this is normal and just means everything takes longer to cook. What used to cook in 14 to 15 mins became 17 to 18. 2. Doesn't heat evenly. Try to heat a cup of water or milk and it will heat the top half of the cup to the point of boiling over while the bottom half remained barely lukewarm. Required a stir of the contents every 60 or so seconds. 3. Tried the sensor cook and reheat once. Just overcooked the food and dried it all out. Never used it again. 4. Just over 2 years old, and just out of warranty, the plastic covering on the touchpad started to ripple, stretch and tear through. Looks terrible. 5. Requires you to press the "Cook Time" button before entering a cook time. 6. Can't use the cook function while using the kitchen timer is running and vice versa. A big let down compared to the previous LG. And was the main reason the new LG got the flick, even though it didn't have a keypad, it has no kitchen timer at all.

And now at just over 4 years old as of this review, it died. A very loud buzzing noise followed by a weird smell alerted us to its death before anything worse happened. Got it just before it let out the magic smoke.

Which is a overall a massive letdown in itself given how little use its had. Would average maybe 2 cooks per week under our ownership.

If half stars were available I'd give it a 2.5, as I think that's what it deserves. I toyed with rounding down to 2 stars, but felt that was a little unfair so rounded up

Regret the purchase – You have to physically turn the turn table when placing the item in so that it turns when operating. If not the turntable doesn't move. The power lever, I can't get it to always operate at level 10. Most days it will, then all on it's own it only operates at level 8. Even if you set time then set power level at 10 it will only operate at 8. Show details

Great microwave with good bargain – I bought it for $160 during black friday sale, Good replacement for old Sharp carousel. Bigger and better. I use Sensor Reheat to defrost my meats very quickly. The stands slip and no grip on any surface no matter where you put it. I guess we will see how long will this microwave last. Show details

Great microwave – Choose this microwave based on choice review and user reviews. Only machine that had few issues for users in the real world and scored above 80% in professional tests. Also it has a timer for other uses independent of microwaving food. Not inverter but much more powerful than last oven. It also has a full time keypad with option of quick 30s… Read more

cooking increments. The Black is nice but easy to scratch if that's a worry. Also don't like the fact you can't turn off noisy keypad or fin timer.

Good Choice – Very satisfied with the microwave. Bought from the good Guys during ebay 20% off on top of the already reduced price and I am very happy with the decision. Heats the food evenly and there are no cold spots. Sensor re-heat is a good addition. Easy to use and is not loud. Overall no complaints and a very good product.  Show details

Every house needs Westinghouse – ...that's how the slogan goes anyway. Replacing my old LG was not that easy but after 10 years or so it had rusted out, no turntable or light working, so i figured it was time to put it in the shed - Hey! It still heats stuff so why put it in the tip? The new Westinghouse WMF4102 I chose was not as noisy as some others I looked at. It seems… Read more

the new microwaves use thin tin boxes that rattle and buzz annoyingly but this one seems to be solidly built for the price and the door shuts firmly!

It is an easy clean 40 litre and has a couple of "favorite" menus you can set up easily as well as handy one button defrost along with other presets. The veggie preset is handy. Press "Veggie" once and it will cook fresh veg on power level 6, press twice for frozen veg on level 7 (70%) for a a typical 1 or 2 cup serving.

The 'Soften' and 'Melt' presets are also useful auto settings to have when you are being creative.

I found it pays to read the user manual to get full advantage of the custom cook features; for example showing you how to adjust cooking times for different weights, but you don't need to be an astronaut to drive this!

We have had no problems with this stylish microwave and we use it every day.

Purchased at Good Guys when it was at a keen price.
