Poor Lifespan – 4 years in and suddenly the freezer wont get cold enough. I suspect the motor for the fan has died. Paid $1,099 for it back in 2020 and its already out of warranty, which means i'll have to pay a $165 flat rate(+ parts costs) to call someone out to fix it. I'll be looking into my options under Australian Consumer Law as this is a unreasonable amount of time for a refrigerator. Show details

I wouldn't if I were you – You know how when a fridge came into your home it would last for years and years then go to the garage as a spare for christmass then to the kids when they left home. Well, if you are unlucky enough to buy a WESTINGHOUSE fridge, it wont make it to that point in time when it needs a jolly good clean out before you are off to the shops to buy its… Read more

replacement. Honestly these so called appliances are absolute rubbish. The problems we had from day one, the lack of warranty help, the repair bills etc etc. We are now loading a 3 year old fridge, that looks brand new, into the back of the ute to take to landfill. Maybe the other brands are no better but I know WESTINGHOUSE is crap.

Not happy with Fridge – Had the fridge for only 3.5 years and had to get it repaired which cost 50% of the original price. I would never buy a Westinghouse fridge again. Show details

A fridge that only lasted 3 years and 4 months. Very disappointed – I am very disappointed that this fridge only worked 3 yrs and 4 months since we purchased it from Domayne. It just decided to defrost everything in the freezer and the fridge temp was 10 as I always have a temperature gauge inside. We unplugged and check the back for dust etc, it all looked good and plugged again but it still didnt work,… Read more

compressor didn't make that initial loud noise and there's a buzzing sound all the time. Called the customer service and we have to pay $165 call out fee for someone to check what's wrong. I will not waste $165 that I don't readily have as that can be used to buy a new one, a different brand. For a fridge with a popular name and cost $888 (discounted) we expect it to last a bit longer than that..can you please improve your product, we dont want to be throwing a massive fridge every 3 years or so because you are not making them to last the way they should. We have 2 Westinghouse fridges and one is only a year and a half yrs old, hopefully the second one last longer than the other, otherwise the government should charge you more for the rubbish you contribute to the environment..for anyone looking at new fridges, shop around and read reviews and stay away from this one..our last fridge lasted 15 years (different brand). It's not fair to be spending that much money for something that will only last a year after warranty when the expected fridge life is 10 years. Do better and dont waste our hard earned money.

Traditional looking fridge THAT WORKS --- – We bought a new CHIQ at Hervey Norman in January 20--see another review. I did not cool down in two days. We are restricted to a 75 cm wide fridge - no many to choose from. When the Westinghouse was plugged in a audible fan could be heard when you opened the freezer door (not outside).-and within hours it was on minus 17 degrees. The manual is… Read more ·  1

for several models and once you have found out what you have and going from the front of the book to the back again you get an idea how to set the temperature --I started with "quick freeze" -it stays in that mode for 2 hours and rapidly brings the temperature down. We have the hottest days ever --and this thing is "cool" - setting is "colder". No temperature indication - we have thermometers top and bottom. It is minus 17 and 4 degrees- as it should. 4 star energy rating. A simple white box made in Thailand with a Westinghouse sticker on it. Owned by Electrolux. Old brand - they must know a thing or two by now being decades in Europe too. Why Westinghouse?? No idea-shall that instill trust? It does the job = for now. Lets see in 5 years - if it last that long. $850 is a lot of money for a simple white box -- 24.11.25 now. Runs quietly in its corner. Always freezing cold upstairs. We at times have 30 degC here in Qld. Nothing to complain at all

Cutting corners but not to bad – After 10 years of the reliable Westinghouse fridge going strong its time was up. We did the research and come up Westinghouse still the best in the price range and size we wanted. We had no concerns due to the other fridge serving us well. Being from a country town neither of the 2 appliance shops had this model in stock for us to look at making… Read more

it challenging. Once home we noted the quality of the interior compartments have declined they feel and look flimsy and the vegetable draw is not as deep as the last fridge and does not hold a lot for a fridge of this size, The shelves runners are not grooved all the way along the slide in making it a hazard when pulling the shelf out to clean, all items on the shelf need to be removed.

The biggest concern for us is there is no light now if the freezer!!! Why do they design these without a light? Both our past Westinghouse fridges have had this feature one just takes it for granted there is a light in a freezer. On asking the store which we purchased they said most fridges don't now... Most frustrating not having this ease of looking into ones freezer... Another cut back is the wine/bottle steel shelf that used to be supplied with the fridge this is no longer on offer.

The good points are it is slightly bigger and the freezer which holds more. The fridge is very quite when running the light in the fridge is bright and makes it easy to see in. Overall the fridge is fine, it is noticeable the cost cutting measure manufactures are making now to save money.

Terrible quality fridge with abysmal support – Fan died after 2 years. Manufacturer tries to claim it's out of warranty contrary to Australian Consumer Law. Technician replaces the fan with one way louder and claims it's normal noise. I can hear my fridge buzzing from every room in the house now. Show details

Brand decline – Always bought Westinghouse and so replaced our 12-year-old Westinghouse still efficient fridge with (our third) new Westinghouse model. Didn't investigate as these fridges have always served well. This new model is obviously made in China or maybe just cheaper. The big square box looks clunky and much less styled. The vegetable crisper seems too… Read more

small for the slides and keeps popping off the tracks if over two-thirds filled. A real struggle to get it back on - but the alarm will tell you you've taken too long and the door should be closed. The front of the crisper also comes apart while you're doing this. The plastic here is verty thin and brittle looking. The buzzy noise the unit makes is pretty constant and not as quiet as the old fridge, so not looking forward to its struggles over the summer. The temperature adjustment took some time to settle but seems OK now if a bit patchy. All in all, it's like a machine from a totally different brand. Our bad for expecting the brand to retain some quality. We should have researched as I now see others have noted the poor quality of the new Westinghouse products.

Two flaws that can't be overlooked - crisper drawer and the door – Reliable fridge, but the crisper draw literally falls apart when you pull it out to access contents. I have resorted to sticky taping it together to keep it intact but even this doesn't work properly. It has been designed to come apart presumably for cleaning, but it does not stay together properly and constantly comes apart. It is also very… Read more

difficult to get back in if you pull it out entirely. Also, the door to the fridge is designed to stop before closing so needs a hard push to ensure it closes. Again, this is how it has been designed although I can't see the reason for it. It means often the fridge doesn't close and you don't realise until you hear the very soft alarm beeping to let you know the fridge has been open to long.

I wouldn't be bothered to negotiate with either the Good Guys nor Electrolux, and just went ahead and bought a new one of different brand . Didn't want to go through all the waiting for someone turning up to fix the fridge and broke down time and again. I am sure there were major frauds with this fridge!!!

lighting. The adjustable door bins are great, but apparently there is a fault with the crisper drawer jamming and leaving its tracks, that I haven't encountered yet. The adjustable freezer temp is good, more than can be said for the temp adjustment in the lower fridge section.

There is NOTHING stylish about its exterior. It is just an ugly rectangular box, unlike my earlier 15 year old model that had rounded corners and far superior paint finish. On the paper-thin sides and top the paint finish is woeful. It is rough and mottled (cost saving?) so I assume they are designed to be recessed (hidden) within cupboards.

Once you have wasted your money as I have, good luck reading the Manual. For the tiny print you will need eyes like a hawk or a magnifying glass. Zero out of 10 here for cost cutting.

Noisy Fridge – The fridge maintains a consistent temperature and does what a fridge is supposed to do. However, I have noticed the fridge makes an irritating buzzing noise from time to time. This has a lot to live up to - replaced our 42yo kelvinator – Received an email asking for a review on our recent purchase but the link appeared to be locked. Very good apart from the crisper draw – Have had previous Westinghouse fridges which lasted for 19 years and longer for one prior to that. this saves on running costs which is handy as there are times where there are different products in it and it may not need to be on full power, illustrates great versatility. The fridge is generally very quiet except on the odd occasion when it makes a slight noise which sounds as if it is entering a temporary defrost mode or is part of the standard functionality. The fridge is also very easy to clean and I have had times where even the most stubborn food stains etc can come off with some basic hot soapy water, the space between the shelves gives the user plenty of room to clean comfortably.
