awful – I intensely dislike this frig. Sick of the noise, the blasted crisper is useless unless you store "nothing" in it. Sticks and does not run in and out properly. I am in the market for a new one and there is no way I am buying westinghouse ever again. I have an old Simpson in my garage must be 20 years old and never misses a beat and the crisper… Read more

works fine "with" food in it. Westinghouse...if you read this...redesign the blasted crisper please.

After an extensive search, I was thrilled when I found this Westinghouse Top Mount fridge/freezer to replace my similar 28 year old Sharp fridge. This one is more superior in design, functionality and appearance, just hope it matches the life expectancy of my old fridge. This fridge is fantastic value considering the quality and features, such… Read more

as: - the brushed stainless steel finish, worth the extra cost for its elegant look and easy cleaning. - very spacious interior with a generous height between the adjustable clear glass shelves that enable placing various sized containers or food items anywhere and still be easily seen wherever they are. - functions efficiently throughout without freezing any food placed at the back of the fridge. - being handles free, the fridge looks seamless and there’s no risk of handles breaking off. - no annoying alarm if the fridge door is left open for longer than the manufacturer’s deemed correct time. - brilliant operations – no noise from motor running, doors close gently, large crisper glides smoothly, generous bottle and container compartments. - the rear rollers make it easy to move the fridge for cleaning or placing it elsewhere. - the 2 year warranty is peace of mind and shows the manufacturer’s confidence in the product.

After two months of use, I love everything about the fridge but think it would have been helpful if there was lighting in the freezer section as well but not a deal breaker for me. Feedback from my friends and family has all been very positive.

Buying from AppliancesOnline couldn’t have been easier with next day delivery, the special sale price of $1,241 included cost of delivery, free connection and removal of my old fridge. The delivery guys kept me fully informed about arrival time, they were friendly, courteous and when finished, they took the packaging with them. I highly recommend AppliancesOnline and have and will continue praising them to my friends and family.

Still a great brand – Purchased November 2019. Works well with many good features, negatives being the slide-out crisper which doggedly refuses to slide straight out and gets jammed, creating much cursing on most occasions, whilst the entire fridge had a tendency to skip over the floor after opening and shutting the doors when first installed. It's stopped doing that now thankfully. Despite these issues I would recommend it. Show details ·  1

Love it, very quiet and spacious – Easy to clean, non spill shelving, interchangeable shelving and a great veggie draw which keeps produce very fresh. Spacious freezer and very quiet. Has an ice tray which you turn to fill a tray which is handy for summer. Has a draw in the fridge which is great for the cheese and other dairy. Can’t fault this fridge  Show details

freezer door keeps ricocheting when you try to close it – we have been having issues with the freezer door as it seems to want to flick open. We use a gently push to close it but it gets to a certain point, about 30 cm from the closed position and it bounces back as if there is a spring in the hinge and it ricochetes back at us. The support desk is useless and keep telling me the fringe is not level… Read more

or hang up on us. we have checked the levels top and bottom, front and back and everything is fine but they don't want to listen.

The user manual is pretty minimal and does not contain much information nor does it state that this feature is an indented design feature

The staff at the desk treat you like an idiot.

The fridge was purchased in April and installed 2 weeks ago. We want this resolved asap as this is not good enough.

BTW forgot to mention the design of the handle. Its a right hand opening model but it is definately NOT a bar handle but a cut out in the door which means that you have to twist your arm elbow and wrist to get a grip on the door to open. And if you use your left hand to open it you have to swing your arm across your body to open the door. Very poor ergonomic design.

I would definately NOT recommend this fridge to anyone as it is poorly designed and makes it difficult for the user to open and close both doors. I have given it 1 star because there is nothing lower. Shop elsewhere !

UPDATE : Westinghouse finally turn up and had a look at the problem. Now they want to REPLACE the door instead of replacing a brand new / faulty fridge which is 'DEAD ON ARRIVAL'. They treat us like fools and we should comply with their company policy when clearly its UNLAWFUL.

EDIT : its now resolved after much angst and threats to refer it to Consumer Affairs. The appauling behaviour by your staff, demonstrating lack of respect and integrity. Your representative suggesting that the fridge I paid full price for and dead on arrival will be 'repaired' ......... what a pathetic attempt at ripping people off and hoping customers won't have the energy to fight your crap.

Shocking – Bought this fridge brand new, after a month the light on the panel to adjust the temperature won't stop flashing. Won't run and nothing I do can fix it. Apparently the temperature control on the front of the fridge was faulty from the start and when I tried to get a replacement, they said that part is no longer available. Show details

When handle comes off then what? – First the fan in the freezer stopped. Replaced under warranty. Now the fridge door handle has come off. The bottom clip has broken (black plastic piece fixed into door somehow) and it appears that it isn't a replaceable part without getting a new door. Fridge is only 3 years old. Terrible quality, puddles of water every morning, broken crsiper drawer – Very disappointed with the quality of this fridge. My parents' Westinghouse lasted over 20 years and was still going strong before replacement. We all know these are built to a budget now. The main issue is the water accumulating underneath the bottom crisper. Very large puddles, not just drips. Must be dried and mopped every morning. … Read more

Another issue is the badly designed crisper drawer (not wide enough to even fit in side rails) A number of reviews on this site have already pointed this design flaw out.

Also, very noisy compressor, freezer constantly frosting....

It is only 3 months out of warranty, not happy at all. Have contacted Consumer Protection and a case has been lodged.

Worse brand ever – wtb5404sa Model A year in I had a dead evap fan. just out of warranty for 250 dollars later. Now that evap fan is on constantly lately. I had cleared the frost of the evap coils. I think possibly heater element or something related to it. Worse model. Would never buy a westinghouse again. You expect it to work more than a year to two years. Show details

Poorly made Fridge – Had this fridge for around two years. The vegetable drawer was an absolute nightmare to pull in and out. Eventually discovered that this was a known fault on the fridge and a technician came out to replace sliders on side of fridge. It didn't solve the problem - I think the drawer had buckled by this point and it STILL did not run smoothly.… Read more

Aaargh. Gave up. Also - shelves cracked easily, plastic things which held larger items in place broke off. So lost a couple of shelves (the smaller condiment ones). The fridge also developed cracks inside in the plastic at the base of the fridge. Not sure what that was about. Fridge seemed to still work okay. But basically, we gave it away after 2 years. Rubbish product. Don't waste your money. Didn't last 2 years. PS- I've been looking for the list of know defaults online again (vegetable drawer) - it has been removed and I cannot locate it any more, but the technician knew about it and it was replaced free of charge.

Worked OK until 2 years and 5 months old. Then died – This fridge worked OK for the time we have had it with the usual caveat about the crisper drawer that drives most people who owns nuts. Then at 2 years 5 months old the compressor has died. After I've dealt with an essentially useless 3rd party extended warranty provider I'm making a complaint to the ACCC/Consumer Affairs on the basis that a fridge should have an expected life of greater than this pathetic period of time. Show details

properly. Now the runners miss the drawer completely and the front comes off when I try to open it. Rang Westinghouse and they told me it was out of warranty. Went back to Harvey Norman where I bought it and they said the drawer was similar to one they had in the store. The model similar to mine has had the runners changed so they slide better but it still doesnt look like it slides easily either. The stainless steel model in Harvey Norman has been updated with metal runners and glides easily. Clearly there is a design fault in this model. What can I do . Ive paid good money for something that is really dysfunctional? I

Crisper needs re-designing – I bought this fridge in 2016. It works perfectly except for the crisper. It does not remain on the track and becomes most frustrating to pull out and push back. Good fridge – Bought this fridge 15 months ago. Didn't have any problems with it so far. It is large, not too noisy, looks really good, the temperature is easily adjustable from outside (you don't need to look for it inside the fridge which is quite useful). Pretty easy to clean. Big capacity - being tall rather than wide is great for a small kitchen – We retired our old Westinghouse after 25 years of reliable service, hope the new one does as well. Worst crisper draw I have ever used – This fridge's crisper draw is extremely bad. It doesn't slide open at all and has to be lifted off the rails to make it move. Fantastic Fridge from a bulletproof brand – After 18 years we finally have to say goodbye to our previous Westinghouse fridge and not because it broke! but it was just so old couldn't keep food cold enough. Anyway about this fridge in particular

-The LED lighting is nice and bright and will light up all the levels

-Very quiet operation

-Quick cool function is fantastic

-plenty of space for stuff

- As for reliability only time can tell but if the last two Westinghouse fridges we've had have held for 15+ years I have no doubts this will too.

aggressive and threaten to charge you if you call out a technician and there is no real fault. So I bought some freezer and fridge thermometers to keep track of temperature, and the problems with the freezer continued for the next 2-3 months. The freezer would fluctuate between -22 and -5. Then at the start of summer, it started to completely die, as the fridge temperature went above 10 and freezer started melting.

I decided to call in the technician who detected there must have been a gas leak and that the entire fridge should be replaced under warranty. I've had no problems with the new fridge for the last 3 months, fridge is locked at 4c and freezer around -17 to -19c.
