Westpac Low Rate

I’d rate this zero if I could. Westpac still owe me money. I called 5 times to sort a balance transfer issue as an existing customer to no resolution. They advertise 0% for 24 months interest free, they didn’t apply that to my balance transfer. No one could help, the last person who tried just left me hanging on the line and transferred me… Read more
elsewhere because they had no idea. Customer of 15 years + and they can’t even fix a basic issue. Unbelievably incompetent overseas call centre. This resulted in two complaints being generated, the second one I didn’t even ask to lodge one, they just automatically made a complaint without asking me haha
Basic Straightforward Credit Card – I’ve been using this credit card for the past few years. It’s a straightforward card that has served me well without any issues. However, it does have a couple of drawbacks: it doesn’t offer reward points and charges foreign transaction fees. Show details
I won’t apply for their credit card ever again! – Be careful applying for Westpac credit cards! I do have both my residential and my investment home loan with westpac, I had credit card with hsbc for many years with no issue, yes rate was a bit high, but I found them pretty safe and secure, decided to close my hsbc credit card and get one from Westpac that all my salary and rental income and… Read more
others go into and my total income is not low at all, believe it or not bank rejected my application even for 3k, my credit score was excellent, with no specific reason! Which ruined my credit score :( not happy with credit team at all!

So far so good – Signed up a few weeks ago for this card on the back of their spend $800, get $250 cashback promotion. The only hiccup was I didn't receive the card, so I had to call to cancel. But within a few days the new one arrived and I have started spending. I will probably only use it to make the spend amount so I can get the cashback as I don't really need… Read more
another credit card and as far as I'm aware this one doesn't earn points. But for the cashback it's definitely worth it if you think you can meet the spend criteria within the timeframe (90 days I believe).
Hassle free application process – I applied for this card because of $250 cashback on $800 spend back in August, still worth it after all the annual fees. Application process is hassle free and quick, which is very important in making the whole experience. Show details
Best cashback – This card i applied for cashback purpose. Though there is fees but still cashback is very good i.e. 250 aud on 800 spent. and if we less 59 aud fees then it would be around 190 aud i.e. really good amount. Show details

Westpac card services are subject to fraud – On the 16th May we paid our car registration renewal using one of our Westpac Mastercards and utilising the S.A. government EZYREG payment system via my wife's mobile phone. Both Westpac and the S.A government tell users that phone banking is a secure method of account payment. IT IS NOT! As soon as that payment was made, a charge of 51c came… Read more
through from a Great Britain site called 'ausvehiclecheck.com' which Westpac honoured and released. Within a few days transactions from Great Britain, Spain and other countries started showing up on this card, all of them accruing foreign exchange fees. The fraud department staff pointed out to us exactly when the fraudulent activity started but Westpac took no action for more than a month to alert us that fraudulent transactions were happening. To make matter even worse, Westpac Card Services fraud department claimed that this activity was the result of a 'scam'. and Westpac do not cover scams! As the funds were not recoverable our card account would not be reimbursed, we as pensioners have to suffer the loss of many hundreds of dollars. A scam indicates that the user has released personal details and has given them to a fraudulent source. I cannot understand how paying a government account through the Westpac promoted secure payment system can be classed as a scam.....we didn't give details away, Westpac released them. these transactions were clearly fraudulent.
And to completely rub salt into the wound, Westpac staff tell us that we will be charged and be responsible for interest on these fraudulent transactions that we did not make or condone.
Think twice before you use Westpac Cards services, you will not be supported, their payment system is NOT secure and and you will not be reimbursed for any losses accrued by using their system!
Rates are bit high – I have this card for a while now. No issues with the card while shopping. The only thing is the rates are on the higher side which can become an issue while you fail with your payments Show details
High interest rates – I have a Credit Card and its handy but I try really hard not to use it to much as the interest rates are so very high and because of the convienence you can overcommit so easily before you know it especially at Xmas time, then your paying off this debt with high interest as well for the rest of the year only to start all over again next Xmas. try to keep my credit card Very very low so I know I can pay it off without suffering the rest of the year.

Low Rate Suits Needs – I wish it didn't have fees but the low rate has been good to do a balance transfer and cut the interest rate that I was paying. Happy with the service. Show details
Gets the job done – Signed up for a cashback program and received the cashback in the time frame specified. The sign up process was simple enough. This card gets the job done, allowing you to make purchases online and instore. Also supports paywave. There are better cards out there though as this one has an annual fee. In summary, if there wasn't a cashback program to offset the annual fee, I wouldn't have signed up. Show details
Good value and make use of Westpac benefits but has annual fees – It's good value card but has annual fees. Some bank like commbank low rate waive fees when used more than $1000. I found Westpac has rigorous security and they block my card when I entered wrong password multiple times. It's bit annoying to visit branch to unblock the card. Show details
Awesome card – Great credit card as my first one. Use it for pretty much everything and then pay it off each fortnight. I love that I don’t have to worry about bills or transferring from savings. Overall great card with basic features so it doesn’t tempt me to spend for rewards etc Show details

Ok for a first credit card – This card was very basic, low rate, low fees, but that's about the only things it had to offer. I was approved at 18 with a low income so it's more a first time credit card. Show details
Very easy and quick application – Very pleased with this credit card, so easy to apply and fast approval and quick card delivery. Website very easy to navigate, the incentive of the $250 cash back was very appealing. Show details
Great Card to start off with – It’s a low rate credit card that is an entry level to cards with Westpac. It’s very basic so it doesn’t have any reward points attached to it, however it does have cash back offers. They run promotions with other stores where if you spend x amount they credit your card with a certain amount back for your purchase. Overall my experience has been… Read more
great, it’s very easy to transfer to via BPAY or usual online transfer. I’ve used it in Indonesia and didn’t notice any international fees however they do charge a 3% fee when paying to an overseas store. Happy to have my card through westpac
Grab it with a promo – A basic card with basic features, but the sign-on cashback bonus makes it worthwhile. Otherwise, what do you get for the annual fee...? nothing really. Plenty of other (better) $0 cards out there once you've cashed in on the cash-back especially given 3% Foreign Currency fee, no rewards, no apple pay, no insurances. As a current Westpac customer sign up (and cancellation) processes very easy - great app. Show details
It was a great, low rate credit card – I had this for a year and it was good. I signed up when they had $200 cash back. The application process was very easy and straightforward, I got mine approved right away. I honestly can't say anything bad about it. Get this if you're looking for a simple, hassle-free, low rate credit card. Show details
very helpful and affordable – What I like most about my Westpac Low Rate Card is that it only has a $59 annual fee and I can use it with google pay and Samsung pay. Show details
Great card! Works as intended – It's a great that I've been using for the past five years that I pay off in full at the end of every month. It works anywhere in the world where Visa is accepted. I've also taken out cash at global ATMs without any hassle. Only negative point is that the card breaks after year and I have to order a replacement. It's probably because I use it a lot and it stays in my wallet which is in my back pocket. Show details
Mehhhhh – Repayments are on pending for days. Poor customer service on social media and over the phone. They're unavailable to provide and clarify correct information in terms and conditions for current $250 cashback promotion.
Other than initial cash back, not much benefit – Had the offer of $200 cash back when I spent $400 which was nice. Other than that no other benefits. Just a regular straightforward low rate credit card that's OK. Show details

Good low rate credit card with cashback – - cashback which will cover the first three years fees. - has nice offers with some of their partners - initial card activation requires branch visit or waiting on phone with customer care, once done you off to enjoy the card. Show details
Nothing special – Took out this card based on their deal of free cash. Application process was painful. Application form told me I had to go into the branch to verify my ID. I went to my local branch in Richmond with my reference number and they had no idea what to do with it. Took ages to get my ID verified and the guy from Westpac called me several times. frustrating and not worth it.
Their app and website is dated, it's hard to know how much you need to repay each month.
I'm sure there are better cards out there.
Affordable Credit Card – What I like most about my Westpac Low Rate Card is that it only has a $59 annual fee. Although I do like cards that offer rewards, I cancelled my other card that offered these because it was taking me ages to build up the points to be able to earn a gift card. This is a simple credit card without silly gimmicks. I like it. Show details

This is perfect – I have been using this card for 10 years. Absolutely best card with low fees. Go Westpac Go. I have used it overseas as well and it charges minuscule transaction fees. Show details
Not the lowest rate out there but easy to use – Easy application to apply for the card. The app is also easy to use once set up, unfortunately Westpacs everyday account has fees so I will only every get a credit card with them. Haven't used the card overseas yet and I probably never will due to fees but its good to have in case of an emergency. No reward schemes in place which is a shame through. Show details
Is fine. Have used it for many years – Have had it for many years. its good. Can see all transactions on the westpac website. The website also displays my savings account and superannuation account. so its all in one place. They have a good call centre and all queries handled well.
