White Knight Rust Guard Quick Dry Advanced Enamel

Poor coverage, poor product – The surface of the steel fencing was prepared as required with White Knight Rust Guard Primer. This coat adhered to the surface fine. When dry, as specified, we then set about using the White Knight Rust Guard Topcoat Advanced Enamel. Rubbish product. The paint is so thin its like water, it slides over the surface and even after 2 coats the red… Read more
oxide colour of the undercoat can still be seen. It appears that the top coat enamel is completely incompatible with the primer. Id say White Knight do no product testing and simply dont care that they are putting rubbish on the market. Do not waste money on their products. I will never buy again.
Great for aluminium windows – Used it to paint all my aluminium windows. In summer doesn't need thinning, all other seasons it needs water. Once you've got a good consistentcy it's great. Used 2 coats, no undercoat just sanded, vacuumed and wiped with turps. Water based, easy to use and clean. Not cheap but I suppose it's a special product? Show details · 1
Worst paint I’ve used – Brought this accidentally, was looking for their epoxy which I’ve used with good results. Way too thick to get anywhere near a good finish. Doesn’t seem to stick as well as normal enamel After 2 coats the coverage was crap, I then proceeded to throw the remaining paint away. Show details

Absolutely terrible – This is a terrible product and it borders on misleading advertising. Lets start; Positives: No odour at all. Clean up with water. Drys fast*. Negatives: Thickness - its so thick you could use a trowel to apply it I am not kidding. With this it is terrible to work with with a brush or a roller. It skins so quickly that any pass over with wet… Read more
paint will remove any semblance of gloss and leave streaks. As a direct result they say thin with water up to 10% to spray. This is laughable. The viscosity required by an airless or compressor with spray gun means you need to thin by up to 40%!!!! just to get it to spray . The arrogant call center rep said "any more than 10% voids the warranty and will cause rusting of the material surface". I asked "How can I spray it then?, should I buy an industrial sprayer?"
Drying time / Working time - Drys way too quickly.... it skins in the tray or pot halfway through a small job. Using less paint in your tray or pot means it skins faster.
Durability - dries like a condom on your metal surface. Weeks after applying it is still easy to chip or scratch off with a fingernail.
Gloss level - its nowhere near gloss. Semi gloss at best even with a one stroke brush job.
Think of this product as a roofing membrane for your metal with durability of a regular acrylic house paint. This is a joke of a product.
