Only after an extensive search on the Internet looking for “real” chocolate did I find Whittakers. It is simply remarkable how good their quality is. It is almost insulting to compare it to the rubbish that the “big boys” manufacture. I for one will… Read more

never purchase another product manufactured by Cadbury, Nestlé, Lindnt or Darrell Lea. The worst part however, is that I can’t stop eating it as it is just so so good.

 Follow-up  · I’m to find a Whittaker’s chocolate I don’t like. They are the best.

I really love Whittakers chocolate, no matter what type but those big blocks which I get given ever year, you can't break them and you can't successfully cut them without shattering so you end up with lots of bits. It looks like the line they create for breaking off isn't deep enough (like other brands) to get a clean break no matter who you try it. I would give 5 stars except for this.

What Chocolate Should Taste Like – Whittaker’s costs more, but there’s a reason why there are heaps of Cadburys at half price everywhere. Whittakers doesn’t need to discount. You can taste the difference. It tastes how chocolate should taste with creative a novel flavours- not the simple Cadbury jelly rubbish or here’s something creative: air. If you haven’t gotten onboard yet- do it. Unless you’re on a diet. Then stick to Cadburys. It’s easier to hold off on! Show details

Really like this one – Tastes very nice, my favourite at the moment, been coming back to it for a while now when i feel like chocolate. Higher quality than lindt and cadbury, has more actual cocoa content, very smooth, doesnt hurt the throat after eating a few rows like the lower quality stuff Show details

Careful if you eat Cadbury – If you like chocolate and eat this you won't be able to go back to Cadbury. As someone who has tried countless brands and types of chocolate bars this is in my top 3. Cadbury is the lowest ranked. The generic chocolate from Woolworths or Coles beats Cadbury. The cheapest chocolate at Aldi beats Cadbury. Cadbury has gotten so bad and shrunk it's portions so small I will turn down Cadbury chocolate even for free. Show details

Got some for my mornings rice flakes – I did a review 2 years ago, back when I could enjoy sweets daily and as much as I want. Nowadays I’m sugar intolerant, but I don’t let that spoil the fun. I’ve been using another chocolate for my brown rice flakes mornings and that one was really good. I saw this one in store and I was like this should be better than the other as I used to call… Read more

it the best chocolate ever.

Hmm well something has changed.

It tastes like that cheap stuff, I ate a piece on it’s own melted it on my tongue and was disappointed.

Maybe I got a bad batch or something, but Whittaker’s should never taste like cheap chocolate and yet the one I have does.

It ruined the rice flakes I made 5 mins ago, their taste was not pleasant like with the other chocolate.

The other chocolate made the flakes taste like chocolate pudding, with this it tasted like cheap hot chocolate, which is not a flavour I want my flakes to taste like.

Probably won’t buy it again and I’ll just stick to the one that makes the flakes taste like pudding.

It’s a hazelnut one with a lighter purple wrapper that’s sold in the overseas section of some Woolworths or Coles shops, not sure which one it was as there’s 2 stores in that area.

Alone that one doesn’t taste that great it’s very sugary, but yeah add it to bland rice and it really perks up the dish.

Very good Chocolate – If you prefer Cadbury Chocolate over Whittaker's then I would suggest your tastebuds reside somewhere South of your waist.

Cadbury can go shove it. Whittaker's to the rescue! – Whittaker's chocolate is what Cadbury used to be. It's a great shame that Cadbury turned into pig urine but luckily for us we have still have the option of Whittaker's. This stuff is smooth, creamy and all round delicious. The blocks are super generous so they last a lot longer as well. Truly yummy!!

Best chocolate ever – Rounded, bold, subtle. It doesn’t get better than this. Cadbury is trash compared. All Whittaker’s chocolate is complex and delicious. Very high quality and great to see it coming on the shelf regularly at coles and woolies. Show details

Real chocolate taste – This chocolate has a velvety, creamy melt in mouth feel. You can taste the milk/cream content. It also is a nice cocoa flavour, quite delicious taste. It's kind of a European or Swiss chocolate type of flavour. Very nice real chocolate flavour, milky and not too sweet, not oily. I honestly much prefer it to Cadbury! It is a little expensive so I wait until it's on sale. Big W sometimes on sale. Definitely worth trying! Show details

Excellent chocolate – Can’t for the life of me understand why a couple of reviewers have panned this chocolate - one quite abusively btw. In my opinion it is excellent and as its name suggests, creamy. I tried some Cadbury’s later and it just tasted of sugar. Please keep making this!

REAL CHOCOLATE!! – This really is real chocolate the way it should be - not just a sugary overly sweet mess like Cadbury. I was ONCE a Cadbury fan, but now I have tried the best (Whittikars) why bother with the rest, I love their retro packaging and the tremendous quality of the product! As I said it really is REAL chocolate, try it and see if you can challenge my… Read more

One of the best chocolate but the packaging need improvement – This chocolate get the best balance of flavors of coco, milk and sugar. But the resealable packaging of Cadbury chocolate is much better. Show details

Ugh just disgusting top to bottom – By far one of the most putrid tasting things I have ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. Do not buy this it is chalky, dry, with almost a malitol liquorice taste not sure if it’s due to where its processed. Just putrid do not buy this dog tripe! Show details

Best chocolate ever – As a Brit living in Canada I keep trying to tell my Canadian friends that Cadbury s was the best chocolate. So when someone gave me a bar of Whittaker's I was duly skeptical, but after a few bites I was converted. You can really taste the quality. I even liked the Dark Rum & Raisen and I usually hate dark chocolate. Try it, of course not… Read more

everyone will like it.... Some people prefer Nestle over Cadbury s after all.... But if you see it on sale, give it a whirl.

Hands down best Milk Chocolate I've eaten – Whittaker's Chocolate from New Zealand is the best Milk Chocolate I've ever eaten (taste-wise) . I have eaten a few different Organic /Fair Trade Brands, Greens is a very good chocolate all round, but i think Whittaker's has more of a cocoa flavor as opposed to an outright sugar Taste (like other leading brands from Australia). Kate from… Read more

Wellington makes points about emulsifiers and hard to digest, but I'm not educated enough on this area to post an informed opinion. As far as Taste goes - I don't think you can get much better for plain chocolate.

Perfect – Love this chocolate. So rich and creamy. Although it can be a little expensive, but other than that its a perfect chocolate.

Best choc – After living in the UK thought Cadburys was the best ever and could never find an equal here in Oz, that is until by chance I bought some creamy milk, wow! It melts in your mouth! There is the hint of coffee in it that makes it amazing, my opinion, if you don't like it.......more for me!!!

This is one of the worse Fairtrade Milk Chocolates I have ever ate – This is not the best milk chocolate- the worse. It taste like mainstream milk chocolate- Cadburys. I actually got sick from eating this milk chocolate for 2 days- only a small section was consumed. There is something in this chocolate that is not healthy and I had a bad reaction. Sometimes there is stuff that is not even required legally to placed… Read more

on label. This chocolate is hard to digest and also has some emulsifiers or something that makes it hard to break down after eaten. I would never buy it again and gave the rest of it away. I do not recommend it unless you are used to mainstream commercial chocolate and have cheap taste. If you have a stomach made of iron then fine- eat it as you can eat anything anyway and it is cheap! Truly is even the flavour. Nothing- thought because it was FairTrade it might be good hard to digest and taste was very mainstream commercial- nothing great at all.
