Do we have to heat it before we use

I don't drink milk on its own as a rule but I use it for coffee several times a day and I've noticed it seems really watery over the last few weeks and it doesn't froth. Usually I have to clean the bottom of my frother every few uses as the milk sticks a little despite rinsing after every use but lately it washes away totally clean, nothing sticks at all so I'm sure the milk is much thinner and more watery. Has any one else noticed this in Perth WA?
