Poor Quality – Bought a Yamaha YAS 209B on May 2020. From the early stages of ownership the unit kept turning itself off without warning and sometimes whilst watching TV. Never thought much about it just kept switching it back on. Today Oct 20 2023 I called Yamaha support only to be told it’s not under warranty and the sound bar needs to be serviced. As the unit… Read more
is just out of warranty I stated I might as well throw it out and replace it. The Yamaha service representative agreed with me. Tells you everything you need to know about Yamaha product quality and Yamaha after sales service. I do not recommend Yamaha and will never buy a Yamaha product again. Buyer beware when dealing with Yamaha.
Quality long gone – I have a dozen or so yamaha instruments, mixers and outboard gear. Their best products that still work are ALL dating back to the 1990ties. Everything else has a lifespan of no more than 3 years. It's absolute complete and utter trash, cheap quality and sloppy manufacturing. The dtx drum kit lasted exactly 2 months past warranty. Then the hihat… Read more
controller stoped working. The kick started fluttering. The headphone connector started dropping out on ear. The PA had been fixed twice and lasted less than 6 weeks each time. The piano keys started making mechanical noises getting lose. Etc. Disillusioned and forever off the brand

PS the most reliable. Yamaha gear I have is a dmp11 from 1992.
Product warranty registration – Unfortunately your service does not match the product I purchased.
what's gone wrong with this company in the last 5 years? – you would think trying to purchase a quality Japanese musical instrument wouldn't be a mine field of dealing with clown after clown in local music shops! how Yamaha Australia puts up with these people selling items for there company has me scratching my head. yet when I rang Better Music in Canberra these clowns just disappeared? fancy that, the… Read more
fact 2 Adelaide Yamaha dealers told me I couldn't play the guitar I wanted to buy or choose the guitar I wanted to buy from the in store stock was shocking! one even said "we don't have time to be pulling guitars out of stock for you to try!" then the "sorry mate but you get the guitar hanging on the wall and the next guy gets the next one hanging on the wall!!" funny thing is when I purchased Yamaha motorcycles and outboard motors and home entertainment products I never had to put up with lip from salesmen half my age! if i was Yamaha id seriously be cold calling these Adelaide music sellers and taking names and kicking bums
Absolutely appalling lack or customer care – Yamaha have good products...but the Yamaha main branch and the staff are absolutely hopeless , I ordered a Vox Go 10 waiting 8 weeks still not even on the way talked to most unhelpful staff ..who saw my order and refused to help just using the excuse that they were getting a new computer system.. and did not know when I would get it maybe by… Read more
Chistmas ..in the end after 2 months I received not 1 but 2 then , after having no interest in helping me previously they keep ringing me asking for my help to get the 2nd vox sent back to them ...
Yamaha Music Australia appears to be NON-Contactable at the moment. WHERE IS THE PRODUCT SUPPORT? – I have a Yamaha Stereo PA Mixer / Amplifier which needs some spare parts as it is needed for a gig. Yamaha Australia and or their spare parts department does not seem to be contactable. I tried ringing the number and selecting the different options 'spare parts' for example. All you get is difficult to understand, distorted and garbled options.… Read more
The irony is that they are audio specialists! If you select the 'spare parts' option -- nothing happens, the phone is just silent.
I have also filled in the required online form and had no reply.
Ironically I did get an answer FAST, when I selected the 'accounts receivable' option!
What is Yamaha doing, I am sure that I am not the only one who needs some spare parts?
