Yokohama G900

Geolander G902 tyres – Our new Pajero came with Yokohama Geolander G902 tyres and we have had no issues with them. We have been off-road and towed our van to Adelaide and Central Queensland gemfields on these tyres. We are now looking at replacing three tyres after 53,000 km and using best of the old tyres as a spare. We were very happy with the Yokohama tyres and will probably get the same again Show details
Average – Subaru Forester 2.0X. Used 35000km on dry and wet paved and gravel. On snow only for test. Grip on dry 4/5 Grip on wet 3/5 Grip on snow 2/5 Grip on gravel 3/5 Aquaplaning 4/5 Cornering 3/5 Steering response 4/5 Confort 2/5 Noise 2/5 Fuel saver 2/5 Wear 3/5
Less than 30k wear – Geolander G902/R17 were supplied fitted to my new Pajero June 2012. Less than 30k travelled predominantly standard road / highway use and we now have to replace 2 rear tyres as worn below legal limits. Very poor in my view. Wont be replacing with Yokohama tyres.
Terrible – For their price they are poor value. They do not like dirt or rough roads. Of the 6 I have used on my MY03 Forester only 1 has actually worn out. The rest have suffered damage to the sidewalls and the tread rendering them unrepairable. Bitumen performance ok. These tyres do not like dirt or rough roads.
Bad – Original equiped tyres lasted 50,000klm. Next set went a similar distance. Third set only lasted 25,000klm before the mechanic said they were running low. Not even a year old yet! Emailed Yokohama for a reason without response. Well they have lost me as a customer. Do yourself a favour and try the Brigstone Dueler H/L D683. They make a size for Forestors now. Dont have any Pro's Low Milage
Good – Basic tire, not that noisy, squells a bit on moderate cornering. Reasonable suburban - highway tire. Softer ride then Coopers A/T. Long lasting on 50% plus highway use. 55,500kms and 2 tires still have 8-10K left on them. Sadly have to replace all 4 due to uneven wear. Uneven wear when used on 2005 Forester from new.
Terrible – As these are standard equipment on a Forrester XT, they are real disappointment. Yokohama do make descent tyres, however these are not one of them. I will be replacing these tyres with a Silca based tyre, even though I still have 75% tread left. Hard wearing Road noise, lack of grip, understearing, no confidence in tyre
