My bank card has been stolen from my car, I haven’t had a new card to pay my weekly membership. Now I’ve been charged $75 cause I haven’t been issued a new card from my bank! How do they sleep at night praying on people when they are down and out
I don't recommend this gym at all, I now understand the reason for their lower prices as this is the worst gym I have ever been a member of.I left my $250+ earbuds at the gym, then after a short time of realising I had left them there, I got back to pick them up. However, I couldn't find them any more! I asked the staff to check the cameras the next day. The only thing I have been told was 'permission is needed from the managers for this' and 'they are working on it'. I asked the staff a couple of more times but my request has been ignored ever...y single time. Then, I called the provided support number on their website. They said 'you should have called the police to get the permission for reviewing cameras' (after 10 days!!!). I then asked to cancel my contract as I feel unsafe and neglected, but have been told 'as per contract to pay $295 to cancel your my membership' after all I have been through! This is so unprofessional, rude, and unfair! They just want your money and nothing else matters! I feel robbed, neglected, and disappointed!
Poor local gym management - Glenelg SA
Only 2 sanitising towel wipe bins in gym and 1 or both are generally empty consequently equipment can not be cleaned by any user .
Poor equipment maintenance . Airconditioning not working correctly from last Friday to today (Monday) .

Zap was contacted as no confirmation of membership cancellation had been received. Other ProductReview posts regarding Zap's debt collection incidents made me cautious. In a follow-up phone call, the new consultant to whom I spoke agreed to waive the 30-day notice period as one-off action considering this specific situation. I ruminated as to whether that makes this a two-star review, but the original situation combined with the first consultant not choosing a higher path mean I shall keep it as a one-star review. Crap gym - upkeep of facilities is a disgrace and customer service even worse!
I contacted Zap back in December 2020, then again in March 2021 to express how disappointed I was that the projector in the Virtual Spin room had been out of action for at least three months. (Kingston, Tas gym)
It took 3 months even to just get a response!!
However, sometime around June (or it may have even been earlier) the projector was removed from the spin room all together and I was informed it was being sent off to be ‘fixed.’
Even with Covid and lockdowns on and off around the country for the last couple of years I find it hard to be...lieve that it should take 2-3 months to have a projector fixed and put back in place. I am feeling beyond fed up by now. I decided to join back up with Zap instead of another gym purely because of the virtual spin room - in which I have only been able to use for approx 1-2 months over the last 9 months.

Had a trial no lock in membership for 6 months just to be safe. At the end of the 6 months this rolled over and continued charging me.
Attempted to cancel but couldn't seem to get through to anyone.
Eventually cancelled my card, next minute zap has sent debt collectors to collect $324.85 in overdue fees.
Untrustworthy and insidious is the the only thing I can say about this company. I know multiple people who've been through the same thing.
Just go to your local gym, the facilities are probation better anyway.
Terrible Gyms, Terrible Service
Gyms small, crowded and unhygienic.
Paused memberships during covid, but now wont let me cancel membership despite having met minimum terms because they havent made enough money out of me.
Money hungry organization with no care for the product and service they provide.
Couldn't speak more lowly of them.
This company refused to cancel membership during covid. Almost impossible to speak to customer service. Then rude and disrespectful on every question or query about your account. Never told me how much I owed and was charged a greater amount for cancellation than I owed on membership. There are more honest and reliable companies out there.
Refused to cancel my membership.
Tried to cancel my membership during Covid to which they replied they were unable to cancel memberships. After waiting until the gym re-opened I tried to cancel again to which they replied they had no record of our conversation. Took threatening of legal action for them to cancel.
They will fleece you at every turn. Even after the membership period has finished they require 30 days of payments before you quit. Really dodgy. Don’t be fooled by their ‘cheap’ weekly rate. You will end up paying,

I cancelled my Gym membership in June 2020 due to going into Lockdown in Melbourne again, and also moving relocating homes as a result from COVID. I changed banks so I did not notice, but payments began in November 2020 through to now. I've only been notified my bank now that my account is $300.00+ in overdraft due to these ongoing payments and now overdraft fees.
You can't contact them on their phone lines - their shut. You just have to email. And once they call you, it's on a private number so you can't bother them for an update.
I've now s...poken with several representatives at Zap customer service, all who exempt themselves from any responsibility, and resfuse to try and resolve the issue. You get a 'Not our problem, and we don't care if you're unhappy' resonse. I'll be taking this through Consumber affaris as I've never experienced such appaling customer service ever before. 0/10
Disgusting service and greedy
I am utterly disgusted by them. I called them and emailed them 9 months ago to cancel and I thought they did. Today I get a message saying that my account is overdue. Basically my membership was put on hold and not cancelled. My contract was older than one year but I still had to pay 195$ to cancel because the account was on hold throughout the pandemic so basically they do not count from the day you joined but it depends from how long the membership was on hold. Do not join, there are much more better gyms than this one and the staff is so unfriendly and disgusting. If I could I would give 0 stars
ZAP more like CRAP
Burnside - Rundle Street and Currie Street all have lazy, unfriendly staff and each gym has missing pieces of equipment that the other gym has?
These clubs have a negative vibe with a dull atmosphere to train.

Absolutely greedy business, do not sign up unless you are 100% committed and can guarantee you won’t suffer any financial hardship. They a bunch of greedy “people”. Seriously go for a run or seek out a local independent business.
Bad Service...Go Somewhere Else
I have been to the Balaclava and Carlton branches. Neither are as clean as they should be. They don’t have enough room or equipment for the amount of patrons using it at peak times. Change rooms and bathrooms are worn out. Very hard to get in contact with by email or phone.
