Zelmer Solaris Twix V5500.0HT

Fantastic Performance and Well Designed – This vacuum cleaner outperforms anything else I have ever used. The suction power is excellent, and there is a selection of five levels of power. It came with three heads: an air-driven turbo brush (for carpet), and two different hard floor brushes. In addition, there are three accessories stored in a handy compartment inside the body of the vacuum cleaner. It has a very solid telescopic rod which makes for easy storage, and I do adjust the length for vacuuming different parts of the house. I can use the accessories on the telescopic rod to get to dust and cobwebs on the ceiling and on the cornices, etc. There is a powered turbo head that is available separately, which I thought I might need (because of the dogs), but it turns out that the air-driven one that is standard issue is more than enough.
You can choose to use bags or go bagless. I use it with the bagless system, as we have dogs, and we need to empty the vacuum frequently. The bagless canister is extremely easy to access, empty and replace. Despite the fact that I have an allergic response to dust, this vacuum has never caused me any problems, so the filters must be effective.
The controls are easy to access, and the retactable power cord is long enough for me to cover a lot of ground. There is also a feature called “parking auto-start” which means if you park the rod into the groove on the rear of the machine, the power automatically switches off, then back on again when you remove the rod. This machine is substantially quieter than my previous vacuum cleaners.
This vacuum cleaner doesn’t look fancy like some of the machines on the market, but I reckon it could outperform them, and it appears to be solidly built. I did have to look online to find the Zelmer, but it meant I got a good price as it was on special offer ($284), and I also got free postage.

Excellent performance at sensible price – When our 14 year old Wertheim (made by Electrolux in Sweden & cost us circa $1000 with a power-head) finally died, we decided to follow the recommendation from Choice Magazine that rated the Zelmer Solaris 5000 in No.2 position behind the much more expensive Sauber.. The Zelmer ( which is smaller & more manoeuvrable than the Wertheim) has very powerful suction & cleans the carpet just great. The Zelmer came with a power-head but we found that we have no need to use it because the turbo-head does the job so well. We do not bother using the bags because the filtration cartridge collects all the dirt & dust perfectly.
Only negative is that the Zelmer's plastic construction is a little flimsy in comparison to the old Wertheim, but then it was only 1/3 the price 14 years later!

top of the range in all vacum cleaners – we have a inbuilt vacuums system that is what I thought efficient But after using this powerhead cleaner, the old hoses are put away for good we have cats and this is a breeze to pick up white cats hear on a burgundy lounge carpet ' the suction is so strong it cant be used at the top level as it tends to lift the carpet Zelmer Solaris Twix 2200 Watt Bag and Bagless with power head there is non better regardless of the high prices brands on the Australian market
winner so far ahead of anything\g I have used before

this would be even better if someone would modify it to run easily on carpet as it drags a bit
