Zip tap service is atrocious. The company provides a service date, ie the consumer must remain locked up at home for the whole working day. Trying to pin down a morning or afternoon block is difficult. I tried to find out arrival time the night… Read more
before the visit and was told to phone the following morning after 8am. I phoned at 815am. I was told the technician may not have started so phone back after 8.30a. I phoned for the third time at 9.10am. After a 10 minute delay as the receptionist attempted to contact the technician while I was on hold, I was told that the technician is sick so reappoint after destroying my work day. No apology- that's our way. My advise- be careful with the service of Zip products as their service is disgraceful.
Follow-up · The problem related to the CO2 for sparkling water. The company continued to baulk at servicing. I discovered myself, the problem was a faulty bottle. I replaced the (full) faulty CO2 bottle and it now works perfectly. I remain dissatisfied with the response from ZIP. They have service problems is my assessment. 2 entire days wasted due to their incompetence.
We installed 3 Zip hydrotaps for our new home. For years we used a different brand but were convinced to buy Zip. The good points are the hot water pressure is good and it looks good. The bad are that it stupidly warms the room temp water as it goes through so you can’t use it for normal drinking water without filling a jug and putting it in the… Read more
fridge. Also I agree with the cutoff for the hot water but it also cuts off the room temp water so you can’t fill anything of a decent size. I also find the security cut out is too awkward and the lack of a moveable spout are disadvantages. So results are mixed. Next time I would probably research other Brands.
Product is good in theory and very good when it works. Our tap keeps getting ruined - all the water keeps getting mixed with in tap, cold, hot, chilled and sparkling - very frustrating. Been through 2 taps and getting our 3rd one soon, closing on 4 years since first install. Show details

Luv my zip hydro all in one tap – Love the zip hydro all in one ta, convenient boiling water, perfect cold drinking water, perfect sparkling water, no more lugging bottled still & sparkling water from the shops plus no more expence of buying water
Does what you expect but takes a lot of under counter space and slow flow rate – Purchased zip Hydrotap G5 in 2022 as part of a kitchen renovation. No issues with unit - have changed a few filters and co2 cylinders now which are easy enough to do. However it does take a lot of under bench space when installed per zip recommendation. I.e. if you have a large double sink with a double cupboard underneath you will use the entire… Read more
space. We didn’t have the room recommended and got creative by moving co2 cylinders to the cupboard that backs onto the sink and have a couple of fans and vents installed for airflow under the sink area because it does run fairly warm at times. No issues with sparkling water or intermittent boiling water to date as many complain about but hesitant to say it’s well built based on only owning for a few years. Only real criticism is the flow rate for normal hot/cold unfiltered water - it is painfully slow so there is a tendency to turn the tap on and leave it. therefore make sure your sink design is such that overflow is considered. You can run the boiling water and unfiltered hot simultaneously same as cold filtered and unfiltered which helps a little but if the sink is large then its still a long wait. With hindsight we should have put the tap in the battlers pantry where the sink is used less and had a regular tap in the kitchen. But it is nice to just have one tap and less appliances on the counter - would definitely purchase again.
Plentiful & Reliable – Very reliable, always have plenty of chilled, filtered water to provide jugs of water for daily meetings, as well as for over 30 staff. Plus plenty of boiling water for cups of tea and cups of soup, and a bonus the taps being touch free wave technology. Show details

Fantastic Product. This is my 4th unit(only from moving houses) and it is great. No boiling a jug 5 times for a cuppa and lovely chilled filtered water when I want it. Great for the Kids too as the water jug in the fridge was never refilled either. Show details
Quick and efficient repair – When I booked the call there was a little mix up with the date of someone coming out to repair our zip tap. When I rang to see what the problem was a lovely young man by the name of Leo took down my details and reassured me that he would try his best to get a technician out asap. And asap it was. The technician that attended our home was a… Read more
lovely man by the name of Paul. He was very efficient and got on with the repair of the unit without any hesitations. Excellent service. Thank you
Great experience a cut above – Great product. No cheap but quality never is. The best customer service I have experienced. From the customer service team to the service people. Highly recommended.

AVOID ZIP PRODUCTS. Installed in March 25 resulting in flooding our kitchen, living and dining rooms. The floor needs to be replaced due to water damage and mould. Now 8 month later and Zip still fail to return calls or do anything to repair the damage they caused. We have now had to claim through our insurance as Zip ignore us. Company secretary… Read more
[Name Removed] has been completely useless despite being their claims legal counsel and company contact. We recently replaced a Zip Hydro Tap with a Billi. Better service, better product, better value for money. I completely recommend the Billi Hot Water dispenser.

HYDROTAP G5 Do not buy! – Do not buy! Plagued with problems and the worst part is the follow up customer service. The carbonation or soda feature is never consistent. Very rarely it has OK carbonation and most often it is well sub par, like flat water. The cold component is cold. That’s the only thing that works consistently. Terrible waste of money. Currently in Victoria… Read more
it’s expected someone must be home for a 6 hour period for Zip service person to attend. How ridiculous. 2-3 hour window should be more than enough.
Rip Off – had two different people from the company come out on two different occasions first time paid $300 second time $270 just to be told the zip is old, doesn't work Show details

Multiple failures EXPENCIVE Service contract – Was part of the house when we bought it. Has broken down multiple times, failed vales, leaking pipes, hot water failed, leaks internally... We had the 'gold' service plan. at about $700 a year. after multiple repairs, they offered to swap for a refurbished unit. And this stopped working after a few months. I could fix it my self ... but now a year later it's dead again, just not worth it. Show details
Swapped our Zip out for Billi - Australian Made – Had a Zip in our office for 2 years and it was continuously breaking down, always a couple of weeks to get a service tech out. The flow rate was super slow and not easy to change the filter. We ended up having it removed and purchased a Billi which has been fabulous - bonus Billi is Australian made , I believe Zip is made in China
Steer clear unless you are a large business ok with wasting other people's money – Purchased this tap new for the office in 2019 and it has had VERY light use of a few cups of tea on office days. Price was over $6,500 plus installation. Have replaced the filter twice since installation. Recently the filter light came on and stopped dispensing hot water. I powered the unit off to try to reset it and it would not turn on. Called… Read more
for a $300 service call and had the guy tell me that the 'board was gone' and he would send a quote. The company then sent me a quote for their 'Platinum' service plan when I had asked for a quote to repair it. The Platinum plan was more than $2,000. I then asked for the actual quote to fix it and then they sent me their 'Gold' plan, which was $1700 odd. Again I asked for the quote to repair it and two weeks after the initial call I received the repair quote and surprise surprise- its $1750! So they want me to pay essentially $2k for a year to dispense hot water from a machine that I already paid $6,500 for a few years ago. It's a complete stitch up and when the guy called me today to follow up on his latest quote I let him know that Im taking the unit to the tip. Unless you are a bank, a large law firm or a mining company - I would steer very clear of this company for your small office. Right now my morning cup of tea cost me approximately $8.46 for each day at the office.
No Sparkle with Zip Sparking Taps – Buyer beware - we spent $9000 on a Zip tap that produces Hot, Cold and Sparking water - seemingly. The Sparking doesn’t work very well. We have been told that it’s the dishwasher tablets that coats the glasses and this leads to low bubbles in the sparkling water. That sort of makes the sparking investment null and void - thus don’t build up your hopes on fresh, sparking, bubble water for this tap if you dishwash your glasses. Show details
An Amazing Product, ZIP – The Zip Hydrotap is a must for home. After having this in our kitchen for the last 2 years, I wouldn't go back. The water is just different our of a ZIP, let alone with sparkling and the hot, I havent boiled a jug for the last two years, way to go! Show details
A bad and cheating service! – 1. I called service last year as the machine stopped working when there was a leakage inside the unit. But the serviceman told me it stopped working because of the dead pump. I didn't believe and he took out a multimeter and tried to show me why it did be dead. But he didn't use the correct measurement and wanted to cheat me. I told him he used… Read more
wrong measurement and showed him the correct operation and proved the pump was in good condition. 2. I called service again last month for the tap, including boiling water and cold water, was randomly not working and randomly working. The same man came and worked like a salesman. He did nothing upon my tap but tried to persuade me to buy a new one. After I refused to buy a new one from him, he said I must pay him calling fee and labour fee. I said when I was booking online your webpage didn't say I should still pay fees even if you can't fix the issue and just want to sale me new unit. The man agreed I could refuse to pay and left my home. 3. A few days later I received an email titled "PROOF OF SERVICE" which contained a document with “my signature”, which was obviously not mine, and "I xxxxx hereby confirm acceptance of the works as detailed above and that I have authority to sign for these works on behalf of xxxxx". Why could he do so!!!??? I didn't confirm and accept his work and never authorized him to sign on behalf of me!!!
Fantastic experience from purchasing through to installation – A thoroughly enjoyable experience from purchasing on the showroom floor, through to organising an installation date, and finally the installation itself! Show details

Worst appliance I've ever purchased – EDIT: Zip Taps do stand by their product and did everything in their power to resolve the issue. 2 years after the initially purchase, we now have a working Zip tap that hasn't broken down in at least 1 month. During that time, we had 10 callouts, 2 brand new replacement units and 1 brand new replacement tap. From my discussions with the many… Read more
techs who have been out, the issue appears isolated to the cold water only versions, but appears to have been fixed in the current generation cold water only version. It was thought the previous unit had issues detecting when the tank was full and would continue to fill beyond the full mark.
Original Review: Had a Zip HydroTap G5 (cold water only) professionally installed by a plumber 14 months ago as part of our new kitchen. It worked without a hitch for 12 months, but I've since had to call a technician out 3 times due to the unit complaining about a water leak. On the first visit, the technician fully leak tested the unit and couldn't locate any actual leak. He came out for a second visit when the issue reoccurred 2 months later. This time, he had been made aware of an internal memo that suggested the water refill sensor was faulty as paint on the contact point was making it give inaccurate readings. He scratched off the paint that was causing this issue and the unit then worked well for another 2 weeks. Now, the unit has shut itself off again complaining of a water leak. This time, there is in fact a water leak, so I've shut the unit down and called Zip.
If I had my time over again, I would not have bought a Zip tap. The support technician has been great, however, I think he is supporting a poorly built product.
### Updated 23/07/2024. After the third callout, Zip replaced the unit with a brand new one on 12/06/2024. The new unit has now failed with the very same “water leak detected” error even though there isn’t a leak to be found. A technician has come out to investigate.

BOIL YOUR KETTLE INSTEAD – JAN 2025 MACHINE TAKEN AWAY AND FIXED YET AGAIN IN NOVEMBER 2024 FOR SAME PROBLEM. THIRD UPDATE ON THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY...... DECEMBER 2024 YES, the machine has been taken away YET AGAIN for repair. The only positive thing I can say is that we no longer use Zip for (non) service but a local Company who are brilliant at customer service and fast at repair. The machine is rubbish and should have been replaced under warranty. DO NOT waste your time even thinking about getting a Zip tap.
FURTHER UPDATE TO MY TWO REVIEWS......... Finally I recieved a call from Zip. Not because I e-mailed the CEO and the COO of the Company and the CEO of their USA Company (without answer from anyone) but because I put negative comments on their FB page posts. So it seems the only way to get customer "service" is to go on social media. Zip obviously spend more time worrying about their social image and looking at FB than dealing with disgruntled customers who have problems with a faulty tap. The caller offered me a free twelve month service agreement which is of no use to me as I will be selling my house. He then offered me a discount on a new machine in my next house which I refused as I told him nothing would induce me to buy another Zip product. When I asked him if he would pay the outstanding bill of $1,200 to the Company that fixed it of course he refused. He did say I could have gone to Zip for service BUT I said to him "it was Zip who put me on to this Company for service in the first place" . It is obvious that nobody in the Company knows what they are doing. My advice would be to go on their FB page to get some attention. A COMPANY THAT GETS 52% NEGATIVE REVIEWS SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS. Once we sell this house we will NEVER buy another Zip product. Worst product I have ever bought in 60 years. If I could give it a DOUBLE Zero I would. ONCE AGAIN the machine has been in a work shop for two and a half weeks since my last review. SECOND time it has been in this work shop in the last few weeks. SAME PROBLEM since it was new but do you think ZIP will cover the cost? Another cost of over $1,000 for this repair. I could have bought a new machine with just the maintenance costs in the last 4 years. We have had the Zip tap with sparkling water for 6.5 years and at least every few months it breaks down. We live 1.5 hrs from Brisbane and they come here twice a week so we cannot get a servcice call for weeks ahead. Our plumber had it in his work shop for 6 weeks 4 years ago while he had to fight with Zip to cover the costs. He finally got on to a manager with some common sense who covered the warranty. The machine keeps stopping due to "water leak" but there is no leak. A few weeks ago Zip recommended a local Company who were really good but had to take the machine away. Their customer service is excellent and leaves Zip for dead. We have just returned from 5 weeks away after having used the machine for a couple of weeks before we left. We have been home for three days and Lo! and behold same old problem. I am ready to throw the whole machine to the tip and stop spending any more money. I could have bought a new machine twice over for what we have spent. Zip needs to stop selling these machines until they work out what is wrong with the construction of it. Back to boiling the kettle again and bottled soda water. We got the soda water tap so we could save on buying plastic bottles and the cost. I could have bought thousands of bottles for what this machine has cost. My advice to anyone considering a Zip tap is DO NOT BUY. YOU WILL BE SORRY
Sparkling water: The best! – We have always used Zip Hydrotap for our boiling water needs as well as filtered cool drinking water but now our new Hydrotap delivering sparkling water as well we have moved into a new level. We are saving a lot of money by not buying bottled sparkling water anymore. Show details

What a bad decision – We are a large national company, on one of sites alone we have 9 zip units only as old as 4 years old. We have had multiple warranty calls and now we can't even get them out to repair a unit unless we pay upfront with a credit card, which the company does not do as we have an accounts receivable dept. Only other option is pay a ridiculous amount… Read more
of money to go on their hydro care plan. Was quoted $900 per unit which includes a filter change annually..thats an expensive filter.
Very poor after sales service - I won't recommend any Zip products – Ever since I installed I had numerous issues with this product. Every time I called for service, they book for a date 3 weeks away (including the routine yearly filter changes). Last time, I had to rebook any issue with the tap 3 times. Every time they charged and the issue is still not fixed. Really disappointed spending so much money and getting such a poor service despite purchasing their Bronze care plan. Show details
Terrible product and hopeless staff – I recently had an experience with ZIP Water that I feel compelled to share. I believe there's significant room for improvement in customer service and technical support. It would be beneficial for ZIP Water to invest in more comprehensive training for their staff to enhance customer experience.
What an awesome device – I bought a G4 Zip Tap some time back having used one in the workplace. I opted for a home based one, smaller in size rather than the commercial units. It is awesome. extend I have bought another when Appliances Online had a sale. The first older G4 unit will be moved into the social area of the house that has a little bar, so I can make up hard and soft drinks, and my newer G5 unit (which apparently has an even better user interface) will be installed into my new kitchen once the house renos are complete.. Cannot wait.
