Worked well, but broke too soon – An awesome cleaner until it stopped after 6 years. That seems a lot, but for this price... it really needed to last longer. $1000 estimate to repair also too much. Show details
Zodiac V3 - a BIG fail from me the Family Guy – This robotic pool cleaner does the job - besides the ongoing annoying tangling of the cord on every use (i have to untangle 3-4 times every use), there is no doubt that it cleans the pool as advertised - what isn't advertised is the failure rate of cleaner 3+ years old. The ongoing cost of replacing the canistar, the wheels and brushes all add… Read more
up. My motor stopped working, had it bench tested, and failure was the relay on the control board in the motor block! Every other part tested working. So now i need to purchase a whole new motor ($450.00) because of the relay failure on the motor's control board. In my research and discussions with retailers i note an upgrade to this hardware - so there you have it. Warranty might be for 2 yrs, but life expectancy 3-4 years. My cleaner was used for 3 mths (15hrs) a season and stored indoors safely the rest. I can't believe that customers are still having similiar problems with newer models....
Zodiac V3 - buyer beware - don't buy unreliable cleaner – Purchased in 7/2014 for $1250. New motor required 27/9/18 foor $636 (although not used massively and stored out of water) 11/19 failed again and told by Zodiac (via poolshop) needs new motor block kit for $624. All because of ERROR 10. So 5 years of pool cleaning is to cost $2510 or $502 per year! Useless. I will not pay this but will change… Read more

Of course, couldn't even get Zodiac AU to answer the phone after 20 minutes on hold and no call back.
Do not waste your money on Zodiac – Many problems over the 4 years. The same problems as those that other reviewers have listed, over and over again. I rang and spoke to Zodiac directly to get their input and they stated that their robotic products have a life of 4-5 years due to the environment they are used (yep, cleaning pools). I suggested that they put that on the brochure and… Read more
their website. No one that spends $1000+ for a Zodiac cleaner expects the product to only last 4 years. They don't tell you that but that is what they know and it is the facts - ring them and ask them yourself, before you buy. My view is that it is deception by omission (by the Zodiac company) - buyer beware. My opinion is that the product is not fit for purpose.
Thank you for your review and feedback. Sorry that you have been unhappy with your unit and dealings with us.
Me 2 Drive Motor FAIL – Lightly used in open clean pool, left side stopped working. Contacted Zodiac told by tech staff told take to repairer, they knew straight away what the problem was. Checked costs of machine parts $450. Checked reviews and found this is more than a common problem and costs to fix are very expensive. Will never purchase a Zodiac product again.2nd… Read more

Worst products and service. Don't even buy any product says Zodiac – I have bought this robot cleaner V3 2WD MKII SN: BC10010L14330128. end of 2015. 2 years of warranty elapsed Product stopped working. In 2 years period I hardly used never left in the pool for overnight. Kept in perfect condition. For repair Zodiac Service asked for $490 repair of some Wheel Bearing and some electrical bits. (for the product I… Read more
have bought $1000. Never buy any Zodiac product. If I arrange someone to clean my pool every 2 weeks during 2 years it will be cheaper and will do much better.
Hi Hugo. Sorry to hear that you had these issues. We will pass your feedback onto the relevant people.
Drive Motor Fail - Zodiac V3 – Great when its working! One wheel not turning now and it looks like the motor block has failed. Removed the motor block from the cover and found one of the plastic gears in the gearbox stripped. Spares nil! Zodiac only supply the motor block complete at $450 - $480 quoted from the supplier with no fitting charges included in that price. The cleaner cost $1000 - approx. $330 per year running costs. Its now back to the old method for me! Show details
Hi Col. Sorry to hear that had these issues. Are you able to confirm your purchase date? Thanks.
Wy would we buy a Zodiac – I have a Z3 and it has been in and out of their work shop several times. I think they have replaced every part except the power unit. I put it in the pool the other day to find it didn't won't to go. When I turn the power on both lights flash then I select the floor cleaning mode the light comes on then in about 3 seconds the light turns of. The… Read more

Didn't get 3 years – I too bought a Zodiac V3 approximately 2 years and 9 months ago. Had no problems up until now ....the machine is out of warranty and the right side has seized completely. Wondering if this is a motor issue? I am extremely disappointed in the product as we all know they are not cheap and was not banking on buying another pool cleaner so soon. Show details

Great product when its working – I too purchased a Zodiac V3 in September 2013 it ran great until it failed under warranty in 2015 ! Zodiac came and replaced the motor block and it was back up and running..... until now the replacement motor block has now failed also with only one side working, it now spins in circles winding up the cable. After purchasing a expensive Branded… Read more
pool cleaner I assumed that I would be in for many many years of trouble free pool cleaning. Unfortunately for me this is not the case.
Now to have the same part fail with almost the same time frame as the original, leads me to believe there is an inherent fault with this motor block. I now read here that I am not alone with issues regarding the V3 4wd.
I hope Zodiac stands behind there product and will make the effort to repair this item. As a consumer I believe that we all expect much more longevity out of an item that is from a trusted brand with such a high purchase price.
I have emailed Zodiac Today and I would expect a response from them soon.

Major Failure After 3.5 Years and just 480 hours – I purchased this machine in late 2013, and it has now stopped working. The cost of the machine was $1,350, and the quote for repair is $650 - almost half the machine cost. The failure is the motor block, which is the main component of the machine. I can appreciate having to replace bearings, or rollers, etc as these things can fail/wear over time.… Read more
However, I find it unacceptable that for a machine that costs so much to begin with seems to have a major component with a life span of approx 3-4 years (going by other reviews). I would not recommend buying this machine as it seems to lack any sort of longevity. I do recommend reading the various reviews on all Zodiac robotic pool cleaners before making your purchasing decision.
Disappointing product - will not purchase another Zodiac – The motor needs replacing - quoted $450. The cleaner was an expensive purchase at almost $1500 to last only 3 years. It did work well as a pool cleaner but poor value for money. I am disinclined to spend $450 on a motor which may only last another 3 years. Show details
Waste of money – Have owned this V3 Zodiac since March 2013, was wonderful while it worked! Had it in for repair under warranty less than 12 months after purchase and it took 7 weeks to get it back. It has never worked properly since, finally put it in for repair on Oct 7, 15 and after waiting till today, more thN 2 months, finally got a quote for $541! What a… Read more
waste of time and money. Do not purchase Any Zodiac product, they are expensive and there is NO after care protocol. It is unacceptable to wait so long and hear NOTHING from a company and have NO power to do more than complain. I cannot stress loudly enough to steer clear of this company and their products!
Would give minus stars if I could!

Great product – I recently purchased a zodiac v3 to replace my broken down kreepy krauly. It is an excellent cleaner that does a great job cleaning a fair amount of leaves and debris from my pool ( I have shrubs and trees around my pool). I would definately recommend to others considering an automatic cleaner. Show reply
Works well but it did break down – At 6 months the unit failed. I used it quite a bit however I am meticulous about cleaning after each use. However I cannot fault the service, I called them up, the repair person came over and it was fixed. The pool is 50,000 litres with a massive gum tree that just drops leaves during the summer. I have to admit if I did not have the zodiac their is simply no way I could keep the pool clean.
Zodiac Polaris Pool Robot is Rubbish – Stay clear of this robot or you will be sorry! I had a Dolphin Pool Robot in my last home, it was great and never gave us any trouble at all. When arriving in Darwin NT, we couldn't find another Dolphin so we went for the Zodiac (Polaris) V3. Worst decision ever and two trouble filled years later I have just dumped it after the unit stopped… Read more
working again. We have now bought a new Dolphin and couldn't be happier! The Zodiac Dealer was really disinterested, wanted to send our Polaris to Melbourne for repair. What! The wheels actually fell off, the control unit had to be replaced twice, the filtration cassette needed replacing every few months, the plastic body deteriorated - OMG it was rubbish!!! JUST DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF!

Lousy cutomer service and repairs – I have been waiting almost 2 months to get my cleaner back from repairs. The unit was about 2 to 3 weeks old. I have rung several times an was guaranteed that it would be sent and I rang and the cleaner was has not been sent. I have rung the company about 5 times in regards to this. SO THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS>
Zodiac terrible customer service – Dear prospective pool cleaner buyers, I bought a Zodiac V4 4WD in October 2013. I used it less than 10 times. In December 2013 (less than two months after purchase!!) it started reporting an Error-10 message (a problem between robot and control box). Thinking this would be a fairly simple fix (loose cable connection etc...), I got approval… Read more
from Zodiac to have the unit repaired and I dropped it off at the repair place only to be told that the "parts" were on backorder and so far I've been waiting 7 (SEVEN) weeks and have heard nothing!! I rang Zodiac a number of times, also wrote them a letter of complaint and to my amazement, they didn't even bother to call me or write back. Most times I rang, they promised to ring me the next day with an update - never heard a thing from them.
THIS COMPANY HAS AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL ABOUT FIXING PROBLEMS OR SATISFYING THEIR CUSTOMERS LEGITIMATE CONCERNS...
Be warned. I wish I'd taken the warnings about the lousy customer service from Zodiac on a number of review sites seriously but I thought that since the unit I purchased is at the high end of the robot pool cleaning market, that this wouldn't happen..!
This failure has ruined my pool use for summer and I would never consider recommending this product to anyone. Cleaned ok but not really fine particles Broke after 8 weeks and had lousy customer service from Zodiac
Poor repair response – A very clever, effective and efficient machine. Easy to use, clean and store. The dual cycle for walls and floor works very well. However it broke down after about a year and Zodiac took almost 70 days to repair and return it. Apparently the needed spares were not held in Australia. It works well even on steps Poor warranty service
Great Pool Cleaner – Love this cleaner, I put it on it cleans all the pool, sides, steps, baby section. We always had some sort of algae in the pool, because of all the gum trees, I have not had to scrub the pool at all and no algae and the chlorine level is good. I put a thick stocking in the skimmer box and it catches the dust particles, I take it out and clean it and put it back, I hardly have to filter at all.
