Zwilling J.A. Henckels Professional S

Fantastic knife – Good, solid cooking knife that can stand up to hours in the kitchen. The full bolster on this model as opposed to the partial bolster on a similar one prevents the knife from rubbing painfully against the forefinger in the same way after a lot of cooking. Personally, in all honesty, I think I slightly prefer Wusthof as a brand. However, this is still a very good solid knife that would make a worthwhile gift or investment for any seriously interested cook, and even a less seriously interested one who needs to have the job made a bit easier.
Purchased in for $157.
Fantastic set of knives – I love cooking and was looking to get a decent set of knives for my new house. I looked around the shops and got a few cooking magazines and noted the high reviews the Henckels got. I was torn really between the Global knives and the Professional 'S' 7 piece knife block set. After viewing them in the shop, I really wanted the Zwilling as they looked more traditional and felt very balanced. Only thing was they were a bit expensive! However, thought I'd have a look on eBay and managed to save myself a $240.
This set is great for a beginner as it has all the knifes you could need and I think good value. Although more expensive than some others, these should last me a lifetime. Great high quality set of knives

I have a 'Sizable' collection of many top quality Chefs' Knives and the two that I use most are my 10 inch ZWILLING Professional "S" (Solingen 'German' steel) and my 8 inch French made SABATIER 4Star( a much lighter well balanced knife). Paying the big money on the "Solingen" J A Henckels blades is simply an investment in quality and longevity.
