Stopped working after a year!!! – We have a tiny apartment with a 16m2 bedroom that is the only room that needs vacuuming, so we got a light weight vacuum as it use would be limited. The battery life for this product rapidly declined after purchase, and just after a year it stopped working all together. Unless you want a limited vacuum to use for a short period, id spend more money and go with something else. Show details

Very handy to have for small area – We have bought this vacuum cleaner because the old one we had was so heavy to move around and the cord keeps on getting tangle up. We only have a small carpet area and thought its handy to have a stick vacuum. We bought this at the Godfrey's while they had promotion, and thought its worth trying a different brand (since we are not willing to… Read more

pay so much for a Dyson vacuum, even though we know Dyson is a good brand)

Points as follow:

1) handy especially if you only have a small area to quickly vacuum

2) see through glass to see when it needs to be emptied

3) its not too noisy when you use it

4) easy to handle due to its light weight

down side:

1) the battery runs out very quickly, so its not ideal if you have a large area to vacuum

2) It takes a LONG time to get it fully charged, so ideally its better to leave it on charge once you have used it, to avoid flat battery when you want to use it next time (it would be handy if they have a battery indicator to show how much power is left)

but overall, we are happy with it and would recommend others to try it

A good handy efficient time saver – Having never thought battery operated vacuum cleaners are efficient, I have now changed my mind and realise how good the Hoover Ultralight is, I bought this on a special which was the incentive to try one, I do find the task of dragging the big cleaner and power cord out at times a bit of a chore, then the cord gets too short, so now use… Read more

another power point. The Ultralight with the 3 attachments and easy to clean filters and catch reservoir is used frequently, the big vacuum cleaner only comes out occasionally, Having a large dog who drops hair it's so easy to grab the Ultralight to do this job and many other jobs, . Now you can use this Ultralight as a handheld, or attach the long extension handle and use it as a conventional vacuum cleaner, the three attachments and long handle supplied all have their purpose, and well thought out they are, I do suggest as the manufacturer states in the instructions, and that is, even if you only use it for a few minutes, put it back on the supplied charger, this ensures a better battery life.

Wonderfully Light Weight and Compact – I've had a barrel vacuum cleaner for many years and also had one of those Black and Decker Dust Busters that I had mounted on the wall in my laundry. However, I noticed that the power supply to the dust buster was getting black and was always very hot when I touched it and I didn't feel that the barrel vacuum cleaner was working as good as it… Read more

used to, so I thought best to buy a stick vacuum cleaner that also doubled as a dust buster component. Went to Godfreys and the Hoover stick vacuum was recommended to me by a woman who really knew exactly what I was after and so offered to show me the benefits of such. I had 5 requirements: 1. needed to be light weight to use, 2. needed to work on hard surface floors, 3. needed to work on carpets, 4. needed to work with pet hair (I had a dog) and lastly 5. was easy to store. The Hoover ticked all the boxes and was even reduced at the time I bought as part of a store promotion. Could not be happier. It's quick to use, convenient to store away, get out at the drop of a hat and use on any surface. Also has a trigger that when pushed to the side will keep the unit going without you having to keep your finger on the trigger. Thanks Hoover upright and goodbye Miele barrel.

Best vacuum ever – I love my new Hoover vacuum. I have 2 indoor cats and this machine is powerful enough to remove hair from carpet and vinyl. You can manoeuvre it under furniture with ease. Battery operated so no need to keep changing power points. Battery is long lasting and machine is easy to use and clean.  Show details ·  1

Denied common fault – I worked for Godfreys for the past 1.5 years and I have used the machine in the office where I worked. We get 100s of complaints about this item. Godfreys and Hoover who are the same thing in Australia and NZ will deny there is a common fault with the battery however this is not the case. The battery begins to fail at the 13th or 14th mark, even… Read more

in the office the one we have failed. From someone who was dealing with these issues on a daily basis, I will recommend that you do not purchase this item. They also sell it without a swivel head to avoid a patent issue with Dyson.

Keeps cutting out!! Don't bother with this Vac – After waiting for ages for it to come in then it doesn't work all the time~ You can have it fully charged and start using it, but if you turn it off after a few minutes it won't start again! Usually have to wait a few hours for it to start working again!!  Show details

OK for what I wanted it for – I bought this to vacuum the car, it has been doing an OK job. It's fairly light and being cordless it makes the job easier to do, then with a conventional vacuum cleaner. Wouldn't recommend as a replacement for something to do thick carpets etc. Got it half price, and see it advertised regularly. So wouldn't pay full price.  Show details

Best thing I've Ever Bought! – I use this every day on wood and carpet! I have the cleanest floors in town! Lol!!!! Excellent. And I also sew, so lots of threads all over carpet - no problem. Need to empty frequently but no problem. I would not hesitate to buy one and I bought from Godfreys on payment plan! Easy Peasy!!!  Show details

Great lightweight cleaner – It is light and manouverable, easy to set up and use. I have used it on carpet and tile floors and it has powerful enough suction to clean both well. Battery carries a good charge and does all ares comfortably. Probably one of the best purchases I have made. Would recommend this to others.  Show details

So handy!! – The best thing about this, is that I don't have to lug around a big vacuum or worry about where the next power point is. Can clean my little unit, and the small compartment does hold a fair amount. Happy with the way it performs, not quiet but not loud. The only thing I don't like is that it can't stand by itself, but that isn't a major issue. It easily cleans my carpet, and tiled areas.  Show details

Great Little Vaccum – I quite like this vacuum for quick easy cleaning jobs. It's easy to use and seems to suck up things very nicely. My only drawback is it doesn't take much for it to need emptying, the compartment is quite small but maybe my house is horribly dirty. Very easy to manoeuvre and the head detached to help reach any of those hard crevices, not too noisy… Read more

about average for a little vacuum. In the past I have been cursed with stick vacuums but I've been pleasantly surprised by this one. So far so good.

Looove it! We bought 3 for family – Pros - so easy to use - so easy to charge - Cheap when it was half price! We bought Three - Actually makes me want to vacuum as it is so convenient - Storage can be a bit awkward if you don't use the sticking clip provided. We rent so we didn't bother. But perhaps having it in view helps remind us to vacuum. - Can be used for the car too. … Read more

Cons

- don't think the battery lasts as long as the manual says. Def did not get the 12h of initial use I remember reading we would get

- May not clean whole houses but works well in small apartments and granny flats.

- it's a bit difficult to clean hair out of the canister as it gets all tangled

The swivel head is available for sale for an extra fifty dollars but we didn't buy it. Seems to work well enough without it

Sooo helpful for a family with kids.

Perfect for those in between cleans – Great suction easy to use. Nice and light like a zippy little car. Perfect for those in between cleans and quick run arounds. Have found that the barrel is sometimes difficult to place back on. Easy to remove and clean the roller head. The kids use it to do their rooms. Hangs tidily on the wall.  Show details

Great little cleaner! – So happy with this little cleaner, it cleans much better than my barrel vacuum cleaner, so light and easy to use, amazing with dog hair! I would recommend the ultra light to anyone looking for a lightweight cleaner which does a good job. Customer service was great and it was delivered in about 8 days  Show details

Quick clean up – This Hoover is very light weight and easy to use. Perfect for quick clean ups but perhaps not powerful enough for a main vacuum. It works well on wood flooring and carpet. The battery life last long enough for me to clean my medium size 2 bed apartment. Easy to store, easy to use.  Show details

Disappointed – This vacuum is in 2 pieces that are clipped together with a small piece of moulded curved plastic. if this breaks then it will not work. My machine broke while I was vacuuming a hardwood floor where no undue stress was being placed on it. I am waiting for Godfreys to advise if they have a replacement part. It is a very poor design so i would not recommend this machine. The performance was satisfactory.  Show details

Inexpensive vacuum cleaner – My husband bought it for cleaning our house. I've already used it on the carpets, vinyl floors, couch, hard to reach areas, car - you name it! It's very handy and compact. Easy to clean, too! When cleaning, I would disassemble the rubber & filters and give it a wash. Then it's ready again!  Show details

Good for inbetwen Vacs but have to clean head or it ceases to function – Purchased from Godferys, Nov 2016. Works well but head needs to be dismantled & roller cleaned on regular basis or performance declines dramatically. Has tendency for dust to accumulate in wand so have to pull apart to clean. Is light, easy to maneuver but noisy. Works OK on timber & carpet when it isn't clogged up.  Show details

I'm quite smitten with this machine – This is the best vac I have ever used! It is light, compact and just amazing! It is powerful enough to vac up all the dust and dirt in the carpet, yet, miraculously does not pull up the rug when I vac it. I don't even understand how it does that! It's defying science! Great machine and only about a third of the price of a dyson.  Show details

Great for those quick clean-ups! – I purchased this after seeing a promotion on TV for half price at $149 over the weekend so I raced on down to Godfreys and bought one. Was so impressed with it I purchased another one the next day for my son and his wife. So much better than getting out the bigger vacuum and setting it up. Works really good. I have dogs and a mixture of hard floors and carpets.  Show details

Was good – Began with as being a great vacuum until the power head stopped working. The vacuum was great at clearing up all my dogs hair cleaning under furniture window sills and the car and all other hard to reach places. It it take a while to recharge after going flat. The power head stopped working and was covered under warranty dirt git into the electical connections which is a fault in the design.  Show details

Good kitty litter spreader – Terrible on timber floors. Flicks kitty litter all over the room instead of sucking it up. What it does suck up drops out when turned off. Not enough power to pull it into canister. So before turning off have to point it upwards so litter drops into canister. Works better on carpet but still not great.  Show details

Great and easy! – Firstly I should say thank you to everyone here for leaving reviews here. I purchased it after checking review here and tried at Godfrey. rooms. I can work on this every 2nd day as quick job. With this stick vacuum my little 6yo boy helps me whenever he drops crumbs of his biscuits or chips. So far I'm very happy to use even with half price!

Easy to get out the roller and scrap out hairs as my hairs are so long. Also the filter can be washed in watm water but should be totally dried out before putting back.

This is ok, it could have better suction – I bought this half price recently and had wanted a stick vac for some time but was put off by the weight of the Dyson (and price!). So I read some reviews, tried it out and bought it. It's ok, it does the job but it's not as good as I was expecting - if my kids drop mandarin seeds or small clumps of rice on the floor it tends to push them around… Read more

and I need to lift the vac up and run it backwards to suck it up. Anything wider then about 1.5cms stands no chance of making it up, this may be standard for this type of vac. If I lower my arm then I tend to get more In the vac. All in all it's better than seeping and I have managed to get my kids to do it a few times. I do still wonder if I should have just bought the new slim Dyson but at $300 it's twice what I paid. I would recommend people try this one and a Dyson to compare. All round it's fine and does the job for now.

Great cordless vacuum that punches above it's weight! – This is quite a powerful cordless vacuum that's great for quick clean ups around the house every few days. Works well on carpet, tile and wooden floors and the battery lasts longer than expected. Don't think it's worth the retail price of $300 as the quality of the plastic body feels a bit cheap but when it goes on sale for half price every now and then it's a bargain at $150 or less!  Show details
