Not happy – We bought this dryer around 4 years ago and use it for two people approx 3 times a week. The inside plastic around the door is breaking down badly and catching our clothes as they turn around. It has been making a screeching noise occasionally after no use for a week. Would not recommend it

I recommend this – I've had this dryer nearly a year and I haven't had any problems with it. It was easy to install/hang on the wall. It dries a large load of washing in less than an hour, saving on power. Show details

Gone the distance – I bought my Simpson 4kg Ezi loader in 2008 at Good guys for around $250. Up until the last few days where I had to replace the belt and pulley, I’m totally amazed how it’s lasted. It’s survived the drying of clothes for just my wife and I to having two kids, a move to NT for a number of years (laundry in the open weather), survived a cyclone and… Read more

another move interstate. It’s simple to use even my 6yr old daughter can use. Parts are cheap and uses simple mechanisms. I can’t rate this little machine enough.

Perfect little machine – Bought this new Simpson Clothes Dryer 2 months ago on special at $275 from Harvey Norman It has a capacity of 4 Kg and it was mount it on the wall. It comes with an option of both front and rear venting and could be mounted upside down. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to purchase compact dryer particularly people living in units where space is always an issue in laundry room. Show details

Recommended for common laundry in strata complex – Simpson SDV401 4kg Vented Dryer. Great choice for common laundry in strata apartment block. Looks good, simple, easy to use, manual rotary dial. 4kg capacity is perfect. Great low price. Didn't need any fancy features or electronics, just needed something low cost, low maintenance and repairs. Purchased two dryers from Appliances online $593,… Read more

Reliable, quiet, quick drying and good price – Bought this new Simpson Clothes Dryer six months ago on special at $295.00. It has a capacity of 4 Kg. Very easy to mount on the wall. It has been very reliable with no fault so far. It has a front lint filter which is very handy to remove for cleaning. The internal drum tumbles clockwise and counter clockwise evenly through that helps the… Read more

Bigger than I thought – I dry everything, from my work clothes to sheets. I originally bought the dryer as I only had a couple of uniforms and when I have a night shift I needed to sleep not spend time doing laundry. But we discovered that it gets all the dog and cat fur off everything. For any delicates I use the cooler function setting so that it doesn't get damaged. I… Read more

love how the dryer stops and turns the other way, sheets no longer get balled up and dry quicker saving money.

Pretty good so far – Pretty good so far as I’ve had it for a month. It is 4kg and slightly longer to dry clothes compared to a smaller clothes dryer I’m use to. Although, these vented dryers are cheap, great for apartments and not too noisy. Very easy to get flint out which is in the machine unlike previous dryer which was on the outside. Dryer goes both ways which is… Read more

fantastic so clothes will dryer well. Usually use higher temp and 90mins for a load of washing towels.

Reliable family dryer – We have had this for many years and it has never failed us! Its only the 4KG version but its all we need. I try to air dry at least a little bit, even in winter and this gets used to finish off. Always arts up and gets nice and warm and its never needed a service after four years. Great Product – Quite, easy to use and mounting it on the wall was a breeze. Clothes dry within a reasonable time, lint filter is easy to clean. Great price, no complaints at all. Good dryer – First dryer we’ve ever owned, but it does the job. Dries the clothes in a reasonable amount of time. Quite light so easy to mount on the wall. Lint filter is easy to clean. Reasonably quite with the door closed. Good price, no complaints. Give it a try if you are looking for a new dryer.  Show details

Does its job – Im not a fan of drying clothes with an electric dryer, its an expensive way to do it. So I use them when absolutely needed and try to hang clothes out first to take out as much moisture from them. The machine does its job and considering it has only been used infrequently , I guess mine does not suffer as much stress each year. Had it since… Read more

2015 , no problems developed but it had one issue. I inverted the unit to hang it up on a wall and this put the door out of sync a bit. Gravity made the hinges lower the door a bit so it needed to to be lifted up to merge with the door lock mechanism. This is a fault with the door bushing in my opinion, In the oriignal mounting or floor standing not an issue , only when turned upside down.

It has not made an issue with operation but seems to me they could have designed or tested it out better.

This is an appliance that gets used as least as possible , so from my opinion while I rate it well for what it does , it does not suffer the loading of other appliances

In fairness to the review and using it, the machine has worked ok for the time it has been used.

Excellent product – WE have had our Simpson clothes dryer for a couple of years. It is ideal for what we need. We had our daughter and her family staying with us and it was able to dry all the clothes and towels for 5 people. It is very economical too as it takes a shorter time than our old one. Love it. 10/10  Show details

Easy to operate, good value, dries clothes – Had thie dryer for about 8 years. Cost about $300. Actually dried things -full load of clothes within 1hr, towels/sheets 90min, baby clothes 45min. Used for multiple loads per week for its whole life. Finally died this week. Bought one exactly the same. Have used sensor dryers while on holidays and waited 6h plud for things to dry.  Show details

Very effective dryer – My dad got us this and its brilliant. Perhaps the best thing about it is that its reverses as it tumbles - it means that towels do not end up wrapped in a hot ball after two hours! Its actually pretty quick as far as dryers go. It's a little smaller size so this may have something to do with it (less space to heat) controls are very simple and Simpsons are a reliable brand so i am very happy!  Show details

Best dryer I have ever owned – Dries the cloths in a shorter time than any other drier I have used. Doesn’t seem to cause as much condensation as others and I like the dial control. Simple to use and effective. I use it to dry a lot of large towels daily and it never skips a beat. Strongly recommend  Show details

Excellent Value – This Simpson dryer was great value for money. It's quieter than my old dryer and it dries a lot faster than my old dryer. It is very easy to use and you just set how long you want it to run for so you can partially dry your towels then air dry them to finish off.  Show details

Simple, fast and quiet – We are very happy with the Simpson SDV401 dryer. We wanted something that was very easy to use, and something was quiet as well. Compared to our last dryer - this one is so quiet! The dryer has two temperature settings - warm and hot. That's it. Just turn it on and it drys quickly. The dryer also reverse spins so that clothes and sheets don't… Read more

Reliable and good value – We don’t use our dryer often, only through winter, so we didn’t want to spend a lot of money. But our Simpson 401 is perfect for my husband and I. It has been reliable and even though quite basic we didn’t need all the fancy bits and pieces with the extra price. I researched dryers before we bought this one and it had good reviews and it has been a good buy.  Show details

Working well for 2 years now – I use this a lot and now don't know how I lived without it! I use the low heat for clothes and high heat for sheets and towels. It is a fairly cheap and small product, I learnt from reviews not to overload it and we have been rewarded with years of reliable service. Here's hoping we get many more!  Show details

love it!!! – I love this dryer..we use it everyday as we have limited clothes drying space in our apartment. It's so easy to use and makes laundry a breeze. I actually don't mind doing it. The half heat setting is really helpful also with your delicate fabrics. I highly recommend this product.  Show details

Perfect little dryer – Purchased from Harvey Norman after my old one (like 20 year old Simpson dryer) died. Just wanted a no frills dryer that does the business of drying. 4kg model, big enough to take king size sheets and some towels at the same time. Two settings, cool and hot. Dries quickly, and isn't noisy. Easy to remove lint filter. Great purchase.  Show details

Great basic dryer – Purchased this 4kg,dryer to replace a Fisher and Paykel we had for 14 years. The dryer is great. Nothing fancy but dies the job well and clothes are dried really fast, even on the cool drying cycle. Having the small vent to the side of the dryer door is great and it can be angled whichever way you prefer. Dryer is gentle on clothes and does everything I need it to do.  Show details

Well designed and excellent dryer – The best thing about this dryer is that it does not have an exhaust louvre on the door. Instead, the exhaust louvre is at the corner of the unit (or you can block the front and have it exhaust from the rear of the unit). Good and effective cheap dryer – Honestly I was quite surprised at how effective this cheap dryer is at drying clothe. Although you do not have any functionality to speak of, the dryer does an amazing job at drying your laundry. So much so I would recommend it above the typical Miele dryer which often results in half dried laundry  Show details

Excellent value for a simple dryer that just works – Got the Simpsons SDV401 to replace an old Simpsons dryer that has lasted me about 12 years. The price of this dryer is second to none and it is so easy and simple to operate. The only downside is being 4kg, you won't be able to dry lots in there but for the occasional use it is fantastic value!  Show details

Simple and dries well – If you're after a reliable dryer and don't need all the bells and whistles, definitely give this machine a go. It does its job well and is super easy to use. Great Dryer – Great machine. Very easy to use and quiet. A batch of wet clothes usually take about 30-45 minutes to completely dry, depending on fabric of course. It's very light to carry and doesn't take much space in the laundry. vent circle direction can be changed to angle the heat. Very reliable, easy to clean lint filter. Would recommend great value for money.  Show details

Good value dryer – This is my second Simpson dryer from this range - the first lasted about 8 years of heavy use. The dryer is inexpensive, sturdy and easy to use - I also prefer the simpler controls, as less likely to break down. Overall, very happy with the purchase - although energy consumption is high.  Show details

Cheap and solid machine, so far so good – I guess a dryer doesn't need to be too fancy, simpson does the job and well priced, had the same brand for different places over the years and so far does not have any faulty one yet, hope this is the case for the latest one we bought, energy saving is not so good though.  Show details

Great little dryer – Being a 4kg dryer l don't recommend buying if you want it to dry blankets and other large items as it isn't built for that. It is a great little dryer, perfect for singles, couples, small families or those who don't use them very often. I've not had any issues with this dryer and it's gotten quite a workout in the time I have owned it. Price point is great, very affordable.  Show details
