Happy with these – Pretty decent tyres so far as noise and grip, and we got 112,000km out of this last set. Almost exclusively country bitumen and freeway travel, but my wife is a pretty aggressive driver at times. They were pretty hard worn at the finish, but that's good wear. Show details
Lovely and quiet, but dreadful lifespan – I loved how quiet these tyres were on my Mazda CX-5 (19"), and they handled beautifully. But I only managed two years of life from them, and 40,000kms. Very disappointed since I paid $1,200 for a set of four. UPDATE: I was wrong. It turns out the alignment on one wheel was so out I had to have a camber pin fitted to one of my back wheels by a tyre place to correct it. Next set of tyres I bought lasted me a much better. A BIT OF PERSPECTIVE – More than 40,000 km on a tyre ? why? tyres are the primary safety system of a car. 4mm is minimum legal tread, certainly not an adequate amount of tread for safe handling and braking. noise - it is very quiet for a M&S tyre, quieter go with a H/T tyre Squealing -primarily alignment related, most tyre places only have the competence for toe… Read more
adjustment. Inadequate, needs to be a thrust or 4 wheel alignment. All cars have inherent alignment problems that can be remedied, for my Mercedes that was camber and caster correction to stop it destroying the outside edge in 5000km. Generally a well balanced tyre , very good wet traction, stable under heavy braking swerve and recover (wombats lol) and quiet. Durabilty, 60% highway and gravel is hard on tyre so if they avoid sharp rocks they will be replaced around the 6-8mm tread depth.
Noisy – Tyres purchased July 2017 yoko go55 suv noisy after 20 thou, now 44 thou very noise still 4mm of tread considering changing tyres, even 15 thou still on tyres (even wear on all tyres) very noisy 90- 110 kilo per/h 40 thou two punchers on dirt road, will not buy again (yoko 91f original Briliant). Performance OK - Life expectancy SHORT – How can Yokohama can claim "longer life" for this tyre when everyone here is telling the same opposite story from their user experiences. And that's me too with my Trailhawk fitted new with them lasting just 42,000 km after very easy driving. I followed the tyre pressure & rotating rules but won't get caught again. So I'll just repeat from… Read more
below... " I'd give them 1 star but gave 2 stars because they have been good tyres (e.g. in the rain and quiet)."
Awesome – Love this tyres. I have them in my Toyota Kluger 2008 absolutely awesome. with First set of them tyres i did about 70000 km with no issues. I got the new tyres about a week ago from tyrepower berwick. They were on sale 239 fitted and balanced. Very cheap for yakohama. Show details
Tyres good but longevity extremely poor – I bought these tyres mainly for their advertised longevity. They were supposed to be extremely long wearing. I got 65,000 from my Captiva 5 OEM tyres (Hankook Dynapros) and they had about 5000 still left on them. I only got 40,000 from these Yoko GO55s and they need to be replaced. Completely worn down. Same road conditions. I mainly drive on nice… Read more
80km straight roads in CBR. I rotated them four times as well. And always kept inflated. Sure there are a couple of round abouts in CBR, but not enough to wear down tyres. Really disappointing, particularly because I paid a premium. Also I submitted this review directly to the Yokohama website and they are refusing to put it up. So their 5 star rating is bogus. I'd give them 1 star but gave 2 stars because they have been good tyres (e.g. in the rain and quiet) for the 40,000km that I have used them.
Newly fitted no problems – Saw mixed reviews for this tyre, but have now had it for 1week and have been happy. Initial Grip is great, noise is quiet. Very comparable to my previous Ecopia P850s. Will update review once i've had some wear on them. Purchased at Bob Jane via buy 3 get 4 deal. Was advertised at $199 per tyre, but managed to get for $189 Show details
Fragile – Had to replace one tyre just weeks after purchase! Wall damage whilst driving on Council road 12mths ago. Wear and handling reasonable since, but just had another failure on country (gravel) road. Sudden deflation resulted in wall damage, therefore a second replacement! 4 for price of 3 good value at the time, but not now!! Show details
Very average – OK in the dry & reasonably quiet, but very average in the wet on a 2015 Forester (225 60/17) - front washes out on roundabouts. And speaking of roundabouts, these things squeal on them badly after about 8000 k's. Found this to also be the case on a RAV4 I hired not long ago which was fitted with these Yokohama's & 8000 k's on them.. Only got 22k… Read more
out of them (mainly city driving) & now heading back Michelin to try the new Primacy 3. Bye bye Yokohama, I wont be back.
Good grip and quiet – Bought these to replace the Dunlop Grandtek ST30 on my Toyota Kluger AWD. Got them more for the price and seems to have good review in the UK. Cost $860 total at BobJane due to their promo get 3 and 1 free. Kumho and Dunlop tires cost more at Kmart, costing about $1k and 1.2k respectively. Still early days to have definite say about the… Read more
performance of these tires. But so far the Yokohama seem to grip and handle well at least on dry roads, quiet and don't squeal around roundabouts.

After two months using these tyres, I can't fault them. Very good performance. Good grip on wet and dry roads, and quiet too.
