Beware Of Renting From Harcourts Caloundra – I have found Harcourts Caloundra and its owner, to be incapable of ascertaining correct facts regarding a complaint made to them.



It started by the business manager being provided with a message on her mobile which requested further details and inspection, regarding a property rental in Caloundra, which as it turns out is owned by the business owner. 



The manager was also requested for this information via her online form facility.



Neither of the two contacts were responded to, and consequently I made a 1 star review on Google Reviews of Harcourts Caloundra for others to be aware of this bad business practise that I had encountered.



The Business owner responded to my review by essentially saying that no mobile message had been received and no online form inquiry had been received, and requested that I provide proof of the mobile and website contacts.



I did respond to the best of my ability bearing in mind that when the contacts were made, I did not anticipate that evidence of these contacts would be necessary. However I was able to provide a record of the 37 second message call to the manager, provided by my iinet telco.

The manager responded by saying no message was placed on her messaging service, and she did not respond to the website form issue at all.

The business owner has refused to amend his response on Google Review, which contains misinformation regarding the contacts to the manager, and which effectively denies that I had made any contact.



I again requested the business owner to correct the misinformation that he had published on Google Review as it can be interpreted that I was lying about the contacts to the manager and therefore possibly be defamatory of myself.



Instead of simply establishing the truth of this matter, the business owner has: 
• refused to amend his response on Google Review; and
 • refused to do business with me; and • retracted his offer of previous assistance; and • accused me of emailing the wrong business (which is not so); and • accused me of being incompetent; and • accused me of being a fool; and • accused me of defamation; and • accused me of extortion; and
 • ignoring that truth of what I was complaining about; and • threatened to engage his legal team to address this matter.

I put the above complaint on their Facebook page with the following comment: The ACCC says that businesses and review platforms that selectively remove or edit reviews, particularly negative reviews, for commercial or promotional reasons may be misleading consumers.

Because I dared to complain, the owner of Harcourt's Caloundra emailed this disturbing message to me at 8.13pm on 26 September 2019: "You are a pathetic individual and a bankrupt fool. You have nothing to offer the world other than your aggression and irrational argument you will die a lonely man. That itself is incredible satisfaction".
