Denied Refund for Coles Exclusive ION Laundry Liquid Concentrate – Today 21st April I attempted to return 2 x ION Laundry Liquid Concentrate to Coles Southport Park Qld. I explained that my dermatologist has instructed me to stop using this product as I have started to develop skin issues since changing to this laundry liquid. I did not have my receipts - I do not keep supermarket receipts. I found the lady on the desk to be surprisingly aggressive toward me. She said I had to know the date it was purchased and how much was paid. I explained to her that my husband purchased them probably last month, and I don't know the exact date and I do not know exactly how much he paid. She looked who knows where on her computer screen and said she cannot find a receipt so I cannot have a refund. She told me I should look for my receipt on line. I said I would not have a clue how to do that - or even if I can. I asked to see the manager who also told me no receipt - no refund. My understanding is that this is a product sold exclusively by Coles. As an aged pensioner being denied a refund of $48 for a products that I have been advised by a medical professional to stop using is difficult for me to understand - and is quite a hardship. I asked the Manager if Coles had a Charity box - she said yes - so I asked her to put them into that. I am a retired professional - well into my 70's. I do not look like a bum, or a thief - and I resent strongly that I have been made to feel like one. So I am out of pocket $48 - but maybe those less fortunate than me will be able to use it - if the nasty staff on the desk bother to put it in the charity bin. I will be avoiding shopping at Coles in future.
