Thank you, Josie. Blue is the scarcest colour in flowers, which is half the reason a blue-toned arrangement catches people the way it does. Most of what we call blue in a garden is really violet or lilac when you look closely, so a florist reaching for those cooler tones is working with a smaller palette than usual, and it shows when they get it right. Bendigo is old goldfields country, and it's deep in the cold at the moment, which suits an arrangement better than most people realise. Stems hold longer once the heat is out of the air.
