Wave Gaurd caught on fire after 3 months – We brought this microwave last year with the expensive trim kit ($275) that goes with it so the cabinet maker could fit it snug. Trim kit fitted snug but microwave would still fall forward with any weight placed on it. We moved into our new house at Easter and 3 weeks ago the WaveGaurd caught on fire while heating up some custard. I took it to Panasonic service centre in Perth and they took a photo of it and sent it to Sydney office. They determined by a photo that there was a build up of grease on wave Gaurd and wouldn't cover it under warranty as they said I haven't kept it clean enough. What a load of bull as always agave it a good wipe out inside.
My last microwave was a Simpson that we have used for 20years without a hitch and that was through the reckless years in my 20's and now 48 and a proud new home owner that is spotless.
Would not buy another especially after hearing about door trouble as well.
Customerare management at Panasonic won't even give you the curtesy to return your call when they said they would.
Checkout the Wave Gaurd inside as though it is made out of cardboard, so take care, Panasonic won't. Inexpensive Wave Gaurd caught on fire, warranty non existence, door closing tilted it forward and off balance in Panasonic trim kit and Panasonic Customercare. trim kit,and Cust
