Yes, I am on one those people that used to think a regular household vacuum cleaner will suffice and that spending $600 on what is essentially a big orange plastic bucket with a motor is somewhat excessive. Well after the 3rd time de-clogging and cleaning my household vacuum cleaner convinced me to look for something better and the Fein Dustex 25 is what I found.

This is a superb and tough workshop vacuum. It's quiet with plenty of power. It comes with brush and crevice attachments, plus a flexible rubber end piece that easily attaches to most workshop tools. The dust mitigation is exemplary especially for sanding.

There is a substantial filtering (large surface area) system within the chassis that needs to be washed from time to time, but it does not clog easily. I grinded an entire concrete garage floor with very little concrete dust escaping. The bags are a little expensive, but well worth it as they are designed to allow maximum suction but also provide an additional filter barrier.

A really neat feature is an electrical socket for the tool you are working with. This allows the vacuum to sychronise it's on off with the tool. So you don;t have to manually turn the cleaner on/off.
