Another Good JS Board for Small 1-4 foot waves – I had the 5'7 x 19 x 2 1/4 - 25L. At 5'7 and 63Kg it was a bit big for me but It surfed very well. Smooth and would transition between turns without… Read more
a problem. Easy to cutback without catching rail. It would work as a groveller and in the wind affected mush. Due to the wider tail and outline and fuller rail it was more suited to 5 feet and below waves. One of the best boards I have owned but I think the AL Merrick 4 is slightly better. I had the 5'6 Utility.
JS Pier Pony 4'10 – Good Board. Takes a few surfs to get used to as it was so small length wise. I have the 4'10" and am 5'7 62kg. Good planing speed and easy to turn.… Read more
It seems to work better in fuller cleaner waves which break out the back then you can cruise and cutback all the way to the shoreline. On suckier or even mushier heavier sections it might struggle to fit in the pocket. You may even slide, losing speed on take off, but you will regain that speed once you are on the face going across the wave. It is flat like a ironing board and sometimes you will bury the nose after a critical manoeuvre. It cutbacks well and can get above the lip when required. I give it 4 stars. Planing Speed. Manoeuvrable Due to it's width and doesn't fit in the pocket like a shortboard Groveller. As such you might lose speed on take off
Weak board – I also found mine to easily ding too. And after owning the board for about 2 years was in soft 3-4 foot surf, deep water at south curly - when it… Read more
clean snapped in half. I contacted JS to see if they would investigate whether the board was structurally weak, but no love back from them. Not buying another JS.
I bought a board from Magic Carpet Surfboards that uses JS Industries customer service for customer support and sales. I'm so so upset with these… Read more
guys, honestly I cannot cope with the lack of communication and professionalism. I ended up with a different board that what I bought and agreed later on. I bought a white board, suddenly it wasn't a 4week wait as mentioned online, it was a 6week wait, mind you that i had to be the one reaching out to find out about it.
I was told there was a coloured one onsite. Again i had to call to find out which color they had, to speed things up. I specifically ask if its the one on the website, same model. I was told yes. The board arrived with a different color and design. Made in Thailand instead made in Australia, so probably a different construction.
It was literally dumped on my doorstep, and arrived with a ding. Waiting for collection, to be sent back to the east coast, to then get my refund. ZERO trust that this process will run smoothly.
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM THESE GUYS Buy it in person.
