our connecting flight from Shanghai to Abu Dhabi was cancelled by the airline, and we were sent back to Melbourne.

From that day, I was in constant contact with Webjet for over a week. Initially, they claimed they couldn’t make changes because their system wasn’t updated. Later, they said cancellation wasn’t possible and only rescheduling could be done. Despite repeated follow-ups, no clear answer was given until less than 48 hours before my return flight from Cairo.

At that point, they quoted a ridiculous $7000 to change the ticket — while the same flight could be purchased online for $700. This is completely unreasonable and shows a lack of transparency and support.

On top of that, every call or chat involves waiting for at least 1–2 hours.

Very poor customer service. Once they have your money, you are completely on your own. I would not recommend Webjet to anyone.

to board our flight at Seattle they said the ticket had not been marked as having been paid so we were not allowed to board the flight. We had to buy more tickets to connect with our flight from LA to Fiji but Webjet subsequently refused to compensate us thorough our travel insurance. Seems if we pay Webjet for the tickets and travel insurance that either way they should fix the problem. We are now out of pocket by $1000 (the exorbitant cost of catching a last minute flight even though we had a paid seat on the flight already).
