We also have two little kids who love playing with stuff but this heater is very safe for someone who is worried about the kids burning themselves.
We are very happy with our purchase well worth the money.

Dimplex Oil Column Heater OCR Range
Poorly assembled faulty product – I purchased an 8-bar 2.4KW Oil Heater. On unpacking from the carton I found that one side of the heater is detached and cannot be connected. It would… Read more
appear that the product has been poorly assembled at the factory. Calls to the online supplier have met with no response. I would visit a service centre except there is no address online. I cannot find anyone willing to rectify this problem. What am I supposed to do ,throw it out? Very poor service. Subsequent to this review a response was received from Dimplex ignoring most of the content of my review and telling me to contact the retailer. READ MY REVIEW DIMPLEX. I HAVE ALREADY DONE THAT . This product should never have left their factory. Personally I will never again purchase a dimplex product.
Dimplex Huxley Revillusion HXY20-AU (2kW)
Love it as a fireplace – Looks so realistic and makes the room feel cosy. The only trouble is that the heater is VERY noisy so we don’t use the heating function at all. We use our air conditioning for heat and switch on the flames for ambiance. Show details
Dimplex Lee Silver
Simple, good looking and easy to use electric fan – I had used one of these previously and liked it, so I decided to upgrade to a Dimplex Revillusion fireplace, which was a fail as the unit was too… Read more
noisy and I returned it. I bought another 'Lee Silver' as an interim replacement and it's really good - the flame effect looks okay, nice and cosy, and the 2KW heater isn't particularly loud. It is super easy to use, with 2 heat settings and a thermostat so you can leave it on a particular setting. For under $400 (I think I paid $384 from Appliances Online, delivered) it's a great deal.
Dimplex 1.5kW Mini Cube
My Dimplex cube caught fire on bottom – My dimplex Cube also burnt a foot of the base I then called them and they said you should not put it on carpet. Most people have carpet. How… Read more
ludicrous.
They said it says no carpet on the box. I dont have the box so i cant say but why isn't it saying this on the actual heater???
I have 2 of these too scared to use the other at $160 they aren't a toy.
I would not buy anything dimplex again.
To be fair they kindly replaced the heater i can not use on carpet.

effect add a cozy ambiance to my living space. The mantle's craftsmanship is impressive, providing a touch of sophistication. The convenience of adjustable heat settings and a remote control enhances the overall experience. The electric fireplace has become the focal point of my home, offering warmth, style, and a hassle-free alternative to traditional fireplaces. I highly recommend the 2KW Eltham Mantle Electric Fireplace for those seeking both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Great looking, affordable electric fireplace and mantel – This is an excellent mid-range ornamental electric fireplace. Great looking unit, at a very reasonable price, especially considering it includes the… Read more
mantel and there are no installation costs! Unlike some electric fireplaces, it looks great when it is off, which is very important since you will have it turned off more than you will have it on! Some cheaper products look terrible when they are off (e.g. Early Settler Rochdale). The flames are surprisingly realistic when on, and they can be operated without the heating function, which is great if you have another more efficient form of heating, or if you want the ambience even when it isn't cold enough to turn a heater on. The flame speed and colour is adjustable too. It was not easy to find the product in Melbourne though. Harvey Norman sell it, but no stores had it on display. They only had the cheaper models and the most expensive ones on display. I picked it up on eBay at a cheaper price than Harvey Norman, from 247 Deals (aka KG electronics). I bought is sight-unseen, but no regrets, it looks fantastic.
Dimplex Convector Heater
Huge Fire Risk – A very cheaply made heater of poor quality. This heater lacks basic safety features found on even $30 heaters such as a tip over switch and overheat… Read more
protection. The body of the heater gets hot enough to burn anyone who touches it (as is noted in the manual and Choice's review). The heater is less effective at heating a closed 4m x 4m room than a cheap and nasty $30 fan heater from K-mart. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this heater. There are safer and more efficient options for less money.

Dimplex Riley RLY20-AU

sit 1.5 metres from the heater and can't feel any heat at all. There is no difference between the 1000 and 2000 settings that I can see/feel. It has a thermostat but even on high setting it never reaches a temperature where the thermostat cuts in.
I wrote to dimplex and this is their reply -
"This heater is designed for supplemental heating only and is more for aesthetics. The heater only gives out about a meter or so of radius heat and will not heat a large room".
So if you are after warmth, save your money. No-one wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a heater that doesn't heat and just looks pretty.
May 2025 - update on my review. Dimplex has been in contact with me and has assisted me with the purchase. Not to say the product has changed but at least they were willing to make amends even after 12 months, kudos to Dimplex.
