completely non serviceable. You can’t even replace the hose! Therefore a $300 hose reel will now go into landfill for the sake of a broken hose connection. Nice one Gardena!

Very good timer despite hopeless instoffructions – Once I understood HOW to use it, I found this timer very reliable and easy to programme. Left it on while we went away for a week midsummer- did the… Read more
job beautifully. But the instruction book was atrocious, something which is far too common these days. They would have been better off simply giving a website address (which they didn't). Fortunately it was easy enough to do a general search and find the vid on youtube. Good video, good instructions, which is more than can be said for the book which came with the product.
Gardena no longer offers quality but its still pricey – I have used these for years. Some of my old ones still work, especially as I protect them from the sun. But the new ones do not outlast their… Read more
guarantees any more. Whats happend to german made stuff. Its getting as bad as rubbish from china. From now on I will be keeping my receipt and making a note of it ON the product so I know for sure its the timer that relates to that receipt. I have no receipt so cant take it back.
2 months ago (Nov 2024)I bought another gardena tap timer. They persuaded me they were still the… Read more
A great little sprinkler. I like things that work well and do a great job. Lightweight, easy to set up and use. Quiet in operation. The range… Read more
adjusting levers are easy to move with infinite adjustment. This is the smallest in the range but for our small block is more than adequate. Will do the 12m width in one go. But can be adjusted down to do the thin strips beside the house. By playing with the pressure and the range adjusters, the spray width can be 2 to 13m, and the length (arc) can be 3 to 17m. (There are 5 other models in the range - the biggest would do a huge area). On the downside, it is very lightly built, and I would not expect it to last too many years (made in Germany so might get a pleasant surprise on its longevity). But at $25 from Home Hardware I won't mind replacing it after 2 - 3 years. The spray pattern is very even and rectangular, making it great for a typical lawn or verge without wasting water on the road..... waters right into the corners without watering the house). I'll never go back to a round sprinkler again. The only improvement I can think of would be a smoother/rounder shape under the nozzle end so that it can be pull forward to change its position, without it catching on the lawn.
Similar experience to others here. Very poor customer support. The app is terrible. You have to be standing over the top of the lawnmower for the… Read more
lawnmower to connect to the app. The lawnmower doesn’t seem to charge when left at the charging station. It can be at the charging station for days without running and then when you manually try to start it, it tells you it has to charge. This is a truly hopeless product. Not a time saver at all. I would like this thing just run automatically every day, but by the time you’ve fiddled around with it to try to get it to start it’s a less than weekly exercise. I just don’t have the kind of time that it takes to use this kind of shoddy product. Buyer beware.
Rubbish sprinkler, poorly made and does not provide a good spray area. Very disappointing for the price. Returned to Bunnings for a refund
Poor component/great customer service – Hey guys I thought that I had finally found a quality click-on hose connector . Unfortunately, like most things produced, one component of the… Read more
product usually fails. This expensive connector is no different! Three tiny pieces of (plastic?) hold the female part (pictured) to the male part. These have been failing after very little use, and zero abuse!! These are not available for purchase as a spare part ! Contacted gardena on 1300 804213 and spoke with a lovely lady called [Name Removed], who was most helpful and obliging! Sent replacements to me promptly , free of charge! (Service without charge, unheard of these days!! Wow) thank you [Name Removed]!! And sorry, you’ll probably be inundated with requests! Surely with today’s advances in materials, a better fit could be supplied!! Cheap part letting down an otherwise great connector
Gardena sprinkler Highly over rated – Purchased 5 of these Gardena Aqua Zoom M Sprinklers 3 years ago - supposedly with a 5 year warranty. "Warranty in years - 5YR" shown on web site. 4… Read more
have jammed up and ceased to function some at 2 years and the rest at 3 years. All different faults. They don't respond to the orange levers that set the distance and direction to water. They just oscillate a few times - stop and click at the one place, or don't oscillate at all. I have dismantled one and found the plastic cogs inside all jammed up. The cogs don't appear damaged but they wouldn't rock from one direction to the other and one cog doesn't even move - see cog photo. Still trying to claim on the 5 year warranty without much luck, even with the receipt as enclosed. Paid for by Paypal so have receipt for $243. Would love to find a rep who would honor the guarantee. You can decide about quality and reliability. Update:- The company where purchased liaised with Gardena who honoured its warranty. Well done - Thanks for the great service. I dismantled one unit - which destroys it- and found the faulty component cog that slips. However you cant reassemble the unit successfully. Replace is the only way. When working these are great units.
Very disappointing indeed! I have been buying Gardena products for many many years, and what I have seen particularly over the last 15-20 years is a… Read more
noticeable decline in both quality and design. This Gardena Aquazoom Compact sprinkler cost me $56 at Bunnings and as always, the promo video looks great, but what you get is something far less inspiring. Being from Gardena and paying that price for a sprinkler, I expected it to perform perfectly, and just as shown in their advertising video. Let's start with the base which looks like there is a big piece missing from the bottom. There are several holes in the moulding which appear to be mounting points to attach something, perhaps like a smooth baseplate. I have looked on their website and there is no such "optional extra" available. So, the base is dead flat with a sharp edge right around the perimeter which digs into the lawn as you are trying to pull it from one spot to the next. It digs into the grass and jumps around and changes direction continuously as you pull it along. I'm going to buy a frisbee and screw it upside down to the base (using the mounting points mentioned) giving me a base with rounded edges which will slide easily across the grass. Since submitting this review, I have done what I said and purchased a frisbee for $11 from Big W and the problem is solved with the aid of some plumbers' outdoor type silicone. (see the last pictures). Next, the unique idea of being able to change the width of the spray pattern is great in theory, but it doesn't work very well at all in practice. After you slide the control on the side of the head unit to widen the spray pattern, you then have to move the little blue nozzles by hand to move them all the way to the outside (giving a wider pattern). It seems to work better when you go from a wide pattern to a narrow pattern which moves the nozzles inwards. Both of these issues are quite annoying but by far the most unexpected and disappointing thing is the uneven spray. The height of the spray from each nozzle is different which has the effect of a very uneven watering pattern on the ground. It has a fairly fine filter inside and it had no debris in it to restrict the flow, or allow obstructions to reach the little nozzles. Not too long ago I purchased the Gardena soaker hose which had such a random spray pattern it looked like a child had made the holes. It was so bad I returned it. It is very surprising to see that this expensive sprinkler has the same problem. No more Gardena for me, if I pay a high price for something I expect it to be fault free.
I found a quick fix for this problem, I removed the threaded cap and placed it down on a flat piece… Read more
