This hose is over rated and still kinks a lot. More than my older hoses – this hose is not nearly as kink proof as my older hoses and yet Gardena tout is as so kink resistant. Also, you are not supposed to drag it around. What gardener will ever roll up a hose and pick it up to move it? We all have to drag hoses around the garden and they should be strong enough to endure that. What an unreasonalby requirement.

I have a few of these one about 13 years – I have a few of these, one about 13 years another 10 years and I’m sure they’ll last a lot more! I purchased the first one as I was sick of replacing hoses every year or so with cheaper ones and these have a warranty. I’m amazed they survive for so long in the sun. I even use them linked together in the sun on trickle to raise the temperature of… Read more

the kids pool. Yes they still kink but not as easily, and they do hold their shape better when hung on a hook. I now buy Gardena products as even though their more expensive, you have them for a long time. But most of all I don’t feel so bad throwing hoses in the bin year after year.

Gardena Skintech Hose Warranty not worth the paper it is written on – purchased a Gardena Skintech Hose 8 years ago with a 20 year warranty. It appears they think you keep receipts for 20 years? How ludicrous. They state even though your hose become sticky and ridged without the receipt your warranty is null and void. seems to me photos pf the faulty product should be good enough though not for this penny pinching… Read more

Worst hose I have ever owned – Went to Bunnings and was looking for a Non Kink Hose so when I saw this hose had a kink resistance of 9 I bought it even though it was quite more expensive than most other hoses on the shelf. Big mistake . Obviously the rating scale work the opposite way as one would expect .It was rated at 9 for kink resistance . More like a 1 !!!!! I have never… Read more

used the hose without it kinking and usual it has several kinks. Don't waste your money . Typical Gardena advertising !!

No Good – This hose was bought in good faith of Gardena quality, so paid more for it expecting a better product than a cheap alternate brand hose. It was labelled kink resistant, will not burst etc. I have owned this hose for just on over two years. IT is the worst hoes that I have ever own. The only, only thing that did not do comparing it to the host it… Read more

replaced is stiffen to a point where it cracked. It kinks and twists worse that any other hose I have used. While it has not burst, it keeps slipping out of host fittings enough to spray water every where, and that is using Gardena host fittings. I end up shortening that ends every few weeks and the host simply shrinks away from the the fitting grips and slips out. And yes, we do not leave it under pressure for any more that a few minutes. Sorry Gardena, you miss-fire on that product. (I did buy it a Bunnings so.....)

Worst hose I’ve owned in 25 years – Sadly by the time you read this you, would own one of these and are now wondering why it kinks soo much, why it balloons and bursts if you accidentally left it under pressure. If you have the receipt, take it back. Gardena’s aftersales service is responsive but unhelpful. It is easily the worst hose I have ever owned, the cheapest of hoses you can buy will be as good if not better. Don’t waste your money.  Show details

Expensive, very low grade product! – Purchased the Gardena 'original flex' from our local hardware store. Payed top dollar for the product. Worst hose I've ever owned. Every hose kinks, I get that. But it's only a couple months old and it's bubbled and sprung more leaks than my old el-cheapo crappy hoses from the past. Please do not waste your money on this product. I give it 0 out… Read more

of 10! No stars given! Unfortunately I don't have the receipt to make a claim on their wonderful three hundred year warranty crap..... Very disappointed!

Excellent – I can’t understand all the negative reviews on this hose. Purchased my third Gardena hose yesterday from Bunnings. I use these hoses mainly with my pressure washer I can’t fault them. They are robust well made if you follow manufacturers instructions before you use it you won’t have problems with it kinking. Bunnings only sold one brand that was… Read more

made in Australia & from looking at it I had my doubts it would last. Nylex & pope made in Taiwan & China, Gardena made in Italy. I’d prefer to support Aussie made but it’s no good if it can’t cut the mustard. $76 20 meter hose is on the pricey side but well worth it you’ll have this hose for years. Sometimes there is like a plastic water saving bit inside the nozzle pop it out with a small screwdriver you’ll increase water flow almost double it!

Pretty happy – Purchased to replace a hose I had named Mr. Stinky. A prime selling point was the highlighted lack of toxic leachings, and I have confidence in watering food with this hose. No smell in the water whatsoever, even when misted. The kink resistance is Okay if you take a bit of care; the coloured striping means you can see if you're giving it a hard… Read more

time when reeling it up. It will kink, but if it is not given several rotations of twist to deal with - which you can see - it's not been a problem. I would rate the kink resistance maybe a 7.

The textured exterior means the fittings stay on superbly.

I'm quite happy with its higher price tag for what it is (around $57 I think for 30m) and would buy another in a heartbeat if my other hoses fail.

Nylex 12mm x 20m Flextreme Garden Hose 12Mmx15M – This hose is quite expensive and still kinks. The most frustrating hose ever. I have tried everything to stop the hose from kinking but nil joy. Why would you manufacture a hose that kinks! If the hose kinks, it becomes useless Look elsewhere. Show details

More kinks and knots than my back – I brought a Gardena hose last year,as I was sick of bending down getting the tangles out of a cheap hose I had ( bad back) . I paid $90 for it. What a disappointment,it’s worse than the cheap one. I’ve left it out in the sun to soften it, it still tangles. I wish I could get a refund but I’ve lost the receipt. I brought it at I guess I’m stuck with it. Show details

Worse hose ever for kinks – I purchased 2 x 30 meter rated 10 anti kink hoses. The packaging is blatant false advertising- the hose kinks in multiple spots with every single use. Virtually impossible to use without kinking. The worse hose I have ever bought. Plus after emailing Gardena - zero response. Avoid this hose at all costs - total waste of money Show details

Worst hose for kink resistance! – I have bought this hose, because it was rated 8 out of 10 kink resistant. ( Bear in mind that at Bunnings the best hose is rated 9 our of 10). I am so disappointed, because this hose kinks like the cheapest available garden hose. Show details

I've come to a point in my life where I'm reviewing hoses on the internet – That's how bad this hose is. Almost impossible to use do to it kinking all the time. The nozzle is bad as well, randomly going from a fine spray to a sharp stream. Do not buy it. Show details

This is worse than the cheapest hoses on the market – The hose kinks more than my cheapest hose. I generally buy very good hoses for our 8000m small holding. The old dull green ones with three stripes get dragged around all the time and hardly ever kink. This Gardena hose is so precious it has instructions not to drag it and the promise of no kinks. Who is ever going to pick up a 30 m hose and carry… Read more

it around? What a rubbish product. Gardena must be by China and is no longer German quality. AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

LOVE THIS HOSE – I must admit that I had strong reservations about the Highflex hose after bringing it home THEN reading the poor reviews on it . I am extremely happy with it. It has not kinked once so far (have had it for 1 month and it is used every day). Thank you  Show details

Definitely not as advertised! – I purchased the Gardena SuperFLEX 30 metre garden hose from Bunnings. This hose should be labelled as 2/10, not 10/10 for kink resistance. Virtually unusable, as even in our recent heat wave the hose continually kinked to the point of completely shutting off the flow. I have 2 Aldi soft hoses that for a third of the price have never kinked.  Show details

Very BAd Kinking – The product is the 30 meter hose, kink ratting is 8, which is 2 below 10, the max.. Previously I had 2 other brands, 15 meter hoses, kink rating 6/7. This hose kinks very easily, and is very hard to wind on a wall mounter plate. Based on previous hoses, the kink rating should be about 2, if 10 means that it will hardly ever kinks. returning it to Bunnings, since the published/stated kink is not better than what lower rated hoes are.

Run away. A drinking straw would kink less – Bunnings should be embarrassed selling this. I wouldn't even give it away. The 8/10 kink rating must mean an 80% chance you'll give up trying to get water from the hose and go back to a bucket. Amazingly bad. No really. It is that bad. An Aldi cheap knock off would be better.  Show details

Still kinks! – I have owned this hose for 2 years. Went through the unwind procedure, did everything the instructions advised. Still kincks, is hideous to wind up. I think the neighbours are probably sick of hearing me curse it. Meanwhile the cheap Aldi one on the other side of the house keeps trucking on. It does kink but is easy to shake out , the Gardena house mostly requires running back to the kink to undo. Not worth the money so far.  Show details

Worst hose I have ever owned – I have had a lot of hoses in my time being a builder. I've paid top dollar for this hose and honestly, I'd have been better off buying a cheap hose. Last Gardena product I'll ever purchase. This one's going in the bin!!

Dept of Fair Trading Should Ban Sale – I purchased the Gardena SuperFLEX 30 metre garden hose from Bunnings. Paid top dollar as the packaging advertised that the hose is rated 10 out of 10 for kink resistance. Problem is the hose kinks more that any other cheap hose I have ever owned. I have left it in the sun on very hot days to try and sort out the kinks but that hasn’t worked. I am… Read more

unable to wind the hose on the wall bracket as it just twists and turns. So back to Bunnings it goes. Department of Fair Trading should investigate and heavily fine Gardena for false and misleading advertising.

The worst water hose I have ever used!!! – Recently purchased a Gardena high flex 13mm garden water hose. Pretty orange and silver colour with a high rating against kinking. Big mistake! Gardena Flex Hose – Bought 30 metre hose 2weeks ago. $60. 8 out of 10 kink rating. It is the worst hose I have ever had . I am 76 and I have had a few hoses. The kinks were so bad it was unusable . Took it back to Bunnings and they were happy for a refund. Bought a Pope for $117. I will let you know how it goes.

A hose for those who like it kinky! – Wanting a hose that resists kinking, I purchased one with the highest kink resistance rating I could find. It was the Gardena Comfort FLEX Hose 13 mm, with a self rated kink resistance score of 8. After using it I was disappointed to find that it kinks more than any other hose that I have purchased in years. It kinks badly during use, shutting… Read more

off the water supply and causing stress damage to the hose wall where it kinks.

A complaint to Gardena resulted in the response that I should have carried out a 2 day procedure on the hose to train it not to kink! Reluctantly I carried out this procedure - which was very problematic - only to find that it made no difference at all. The hose is simply irreversibly kinky and would suit those who are blessed with extreme patience and a total lack of frustration who have money to waste.
