Never buy this!! It will burn the heck out of your lawn and kill it. And yes, I followed directions. I usually have the best lawn in the street but thanks to Scott's, it will take me 2 years to recover. Show details

Few months now and it's been great for my indoor plants. The mix feels rich and well-draining, and the built-in slow-release fertilizer means I don't… Read more

I have found plastic in my very compacted bag and am very upset. Also there is way too much wood chips, this photo shows some of the many bigger chips in this bag Show details

We purchased a very healthy Azelia about 2 months ago. New growth, flowers, very healthy. Since we put it in a pot and used Osmocote potting mix, the… Read more

Azelia has gone backwards. Stunted growth, only one flower, leaves turning from deep green to a brown colour now. What a terrible product.

The product used to be great however the last 3 bags of granules is like buying a block of rock. Takes a long time to try and break it up and unless… Read more

you completely break it apart it continually blocks the dispenser. This never happened in the past so they have changed something. For the record, 5 minutes from Bunnings so no I did not open the bag and store it, like most corporates they blame the customer. Get your act together Scotts as I will no longer purchase your brand. What should take 10 minutes takes 45 minutes trying to ensure the lumps are completely gone.

Trying is to believe – At this time of year I feed all of my plants what I have found to be a great boost for Summer, Scott’s Osmocote, and I follow-up at the end of Summer… Read more

with the same fertiliser. I also spread a good handful of Potassium Nitrate in a broad area around the base of the plant or tree at the same time. It is fully soluble and should be well watered in. Depending on your requirements, Enfield Pet and Garden will supply it quantities from 1kg upwards.

My mother gave this product to my wife for Christmas last year. We had a very unhealthy indoor plant that had been looking worse for wear for about a… Read more

year. It had lost almost all of its leaves. So we decided to pour a capful of Osmocote Pour+Feed around the base and, I kid you not, it completely transformed in about two weeks. I don't know what they put in this liquid, but the results are extraordinary. It's supposed to be for indoor plants, but I broke the rules and poured a capful on two of my outdoor pot plants and had exactly the same phenomenal result.

advertised or designed. Waste of money, pick a different one or better still Osmocote FIX YOUR PRODUCT! As obviously a systematic problem.

Used this product. Basically killed my seedlings. It is a disgrace calling this a premium potting mix and recording it suitable for vegetables and… Read more

herbs is dispicable. I note many of the reviews on PRODUCT REVIEW. COM.AU say the same from a number of years ago. Scotts have learnt nothing. Major companies lIke Bunnings should give them the flick. This year on recommendation I went to Mitre 10 and purchased Searles Premium Potting mix retails at $14.55. Brilliant. You live and learn. Always check the reputable reviw sites. I didnt.

This is a very poor product. It has lots of large woody bits and is not suitable at all. Don’t buy it. Try another brand or mix your own. Show details

All rye, no couch – Once again I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing the product. I'm familiar with seed mixes containing rye and know that the rye sprouts… Read more

quickly to create the right conditions for the desired seed in the mix, but with this product there was just rye. Not a single blade of couch has sprouted and it has been a couple of months, with loads of rain and/or watering.

Edit: I spoke to the people at Scotts and they said it was because the weather was cool and couch only grows in warm weather (despite the fact that I seeded my lawn in February). Well, it is now December, 10 months later and back into summer. Update on the lawn? Not a single blade of couch. All rye (which is now dying off).

Disastrous! – Do not use this product if you want strong, healthy plants. It burns and kills your healthy indoor plants contrary to what it says on the label. The composted chicken manure pellets WILL burn your plants.

Not suitable for Buffalo – My buffalo lawn was patchy, despite fertilising it, so I tried Scotts Lawn Builder 1.4kg Lawn Thickener Lawn Seed. It says it's suitable for Buffalo… Read more

lawns, but it looked terrible, the leaves were thin and grow like weed, not even close to being suitable to Buffalo. I had to manually pull them out by root to undo my mistake of believing the marketing on the box. Do yourself a favour and avoid it if you have Buffalo lawn.

through. I brought a second unit as I blamed myself for the demise of the first but that turned out to be a mistake as a couple of months later it too was in the bin.

This thing is not built to spread larger diameter prilled product as it causes the driving wheel, which operates the spreader shaft, to skid and hence miss patches unless you constantly pull it backwards and retrace your steps. The handle/cable mechanism that regulates the product flow is painful/fatiguing to operate and its lower cable fixing point on the metering gate rips out.

I've only got 120m2 of lawn and this thing is not fun to operate. Don't buy one!
