Solid product, good value – Bought this off Amazon and as it was only $12 thought it would be flimsy, it’s not and it is solid and great value for money. Just chuck in the battery’s and use straight away. Show details
Remington HC70 Personal Haircut Kit
New Clippers are a big disappointment – I'm a long term user of Remington shavers and hair clippers and usually expect to get at least two years use out of them. This product was purchased… Read more
in 2023 from BigW. On opening the box, I noticed that they are much lighter than traditional clippers. This is because they are primarily plastic construction with a cheap rotating motor and offset spindle to move the blades.
On first use I noticed the motor slowing considerably when applied to short hair. The motor often took a long time to get up to speed.
With less than 10 uses, the clippers have now stopped altogether. Remington weren't much interested, saying that they would pass my feedback on; sorry, that's it. So I dismantled the unit to have a look. Hair from the blades can go straight into the drive mechanism, where it is caught by the lubricant and promptly gums up the works. But even after carefully removing all hair, the motor is very slow and stops if you even breathe on it. This is not a product which is well designed or intended to last any length of time. I reckon you would be lucky for it to last out the warranty.
Remington Rapid Cut Ultimate HC4400AU
Effective quick hair trimming – I've had the Remington rapid cut ultimate for a month, I've used it a couple of times with the wide 1.5mm guide. I like that it has a wide range of… Read more
wide and narrow guides, something some manufacturers or models don't have, though I haven't used the narrow trimmers yet. The trimmers are all dedicated, rather than the less useful single trimmer with adjustable length.
I find the trimmer comfortable to hold and effective to cut hair. Because of its width it's much quicker than narrower trimmers I've used in the past. I don't have an opinion on battery life yet, but my other Remington trimmers last a long time between charges, I'll update this review if I find anything different.
I also have the Conair Crew Cut, a circular hair trimmer. The Remington has completely replaced that product. The Crew Cut is fine, probably a similar time to do a hair cut, but the Remington is more versatile. You have more control with the Remington, you can do sideburns more easily. and it produces a more even cut.
All in all I think this was a good purchase, and I'd buy it again.
Great Little Trimmer – Works well and cuts short. No comfort problems experienced with its use although the head gets warm. Great for dealing with nose and ear hairs. Very good value for money! Show details

Yes. I have one – I've probably used it 4 or 5 times in 12 months. Only for a touch up trim, though. I live alone & find it too hard to do a full, haircut. It works… Read more
OK. But one needs someone else to use it on yourself & the back. So I go to the barber for a proper cut. I'm sure that if one could get someone else to use it on myself, it would, work fine.
Remington RX7 Head Shaver HC7500AU
Does the job but at a cost – I got one of these after dropping and breaking my Pitbull skull shaver (after 3 years of great service before that) and having some credit at Harvey… Read more
Norman to use. Has some great features and does do a good job. Nice close shave. The only problem is it gives me horrible razor rash. Never once had razor rash from the Pitbull skull shaver and I used to dry shave with it sometimes. I've tried multiple shaving creams and after shave balms etc and no difference. My head just doesn't agree with the Remington shaving foils. So I still give it 3 stars because it does do a good job but personally just doesn't do it for me.

Ok, blunt it is. Overall: as useless as udders on a bull. I use it infrequently, usually while traveling, which is why I allowed 12 months before… Read more
writing this review. It performs so poorly that, even then, I end up visiting a barber. The foil shaving attachment performs just as poorly—if not worse. There's no power, no cutting, and it even seizes on my stubble.
Before I even used it, I noticed the slide-on comb had a tooth missing, so that was that. The nose hair trimmer seems adequate, but I've only used it once or twice, so I can't say much about it.
I sometimes wonder if it actually cuts at all. It seems to lack the power to do anything other than buzz. I held onto it for about twelve months because I like to give products a fair go, but now it's found its way into my electronics recycle bin.
I know it's relatively cheap to buy, but if you end up needing to replace it with another brand, it becomes expensive in the long run. Cheap doesn't have to mean poor quality—I used to have a Woolworths off-the-shelf cheapie, and it performed great. Sure, it went through batteries like they were going out of fashion, so I opted for this rechargeable unit.
I bought it on Amazon at full price ($29) and assumed it would be okay—but it wasn't. Do yourself a favor: do NOT buy this. At best, it's useless.

This is now the third unit and is still unreliable (Returned for alternative competitors item) Battery performance is low and fails to recharge fully in stated time (16 hrs) Item is light weight and feels flimsy most likely due to battery and motor weight This item was only recharged when battery was completely discharged so no memory issues but fails to hold charge for any longer than 8-10 minutes each charge Suggest u purchase an alternative brand that is more reliable and robust
