My experience with Tefal Cook4Me New Model CY9128 – I bought this top of the range model specifically for the supposed WiFi connection capability, which should provide many hundreds of extra recipes… Read more

via WiFi. If the item hadn’t been spruiked as having that capacity, I would have bought a cheaper model. Wishing I had done this now, as I have wasted 3 full days trying to connect it via WiFi. The WiFi part is working fine, but there is nowhere on the Tefal App or their website where to insert the Association Code generated by the Cook4Me to give me access to the hundreds of recipes online. So, just wondering if anyone out there has bought this model and successfully paired it online??? If not, perhaps this part of the item is faulty/inoperable. I would like to provide the manufacturer with an accurate review, especially if this part of the item is a dud. I think this item only went to market in February of this year. Many thanks for any help provided. Tefal Customer Service was very reluctant to help, and only sent irrelevant information, assuming I was in the wrong. I bought the original Cook4Me many years ago, so am fairly familiar with it.

Tefal have contacted me, saying they will address the connectivity issue with relevant personnel and the App. Good on you Tefal.

Terrible – The pre heat function takes forever, when set to "slow cook mode" had 2 hours left on the timer however when I opened the lid to check the food i kid… Read more

you not STONE COLD and food was still raw ended up having to bin the food because of how long it sat there, there are different lid locks for certain cook methods which is stupid considering it has a valve for pressure release, the appliance has just recreated the wheel into an over complicated and not useful space waister returning after 1 use, teefal needs to reconsider their products before launch this could honestly just be a faulty product but I'm not willing to throw out more food just for the sake of retrying this product

I would have expected better from this brand – Not happy with my recent purchase of this item. The electrical cord that plugs into the unit itself is very loose and doesn’t stay in especially if… Read more

you push the buttons to start or stop it the whole unit will slide across your kitchen bench top and the plug will fall out of the unit, it doesn’t matter how hard you push it in the cord is loose, I was told that’s normal but I dislike it greatly. Then there’s the issue of not being alerted to when the cooking process has finished, the unit will NOT make a beeping sound so if you walk away from cooking and come back in say a hour the unit could have finished cooking 40 minutes ago but you didn’t know that due to lack of a buzzer or bell. The lack of recipes for this is none existent and you have to guesstimate water ratios and tweaking recipes, who has time for that. The rubber seal around the lid is atrocious in it’s design because it gathers water in the rim and when you open the lid the water spills out all over the place and once you lift the bowl out after cooking the residual water in the rubber seal will spill onto the ‍cooking element at the bottom of the cooker, fire hazard as well as burning out the element before 12 months warranty is up. I put some mince and veg in my cooker and just had to (wing it) with the program I chose to cook it on and also had to guess how much water to use so I went for quick cook and steam function and just had to check it every 20 minutes to see when it had finished cooking, it doesn’t even show you a time after you select a program I absolutely hate that, this so poorly designed because when the water spills out from under the rim when you open the lid and then your loose cord attachment comes out and could be sitting in the spilled water without you knowing and the power is still on !!! Well put it this way I would not go to bed or leave the house if this was cooking anything just in case a fire started, we all know water and electricity doesn’t mix, the slow cook function is preset for 8 hours only it’s the only time guide available for this item apart from the porridge soup buts only written in the booklet not on the machine I can’t tweak it for like 4 hours but I guess if you wanted 4 hours then set a timer on your phone for the 4 hours and go and check the food but then I’d be wondering if it’s cooked properly, but again it’s a lot of guess work and I’m not at all happy.

I'm so disappointed in this Smart Cooker, it's anything but Smart. The first time I used it on low for slow cooking after 8 hrs I had to then finish… Read more

the meal on pressure to fully cook it. I asked a question on a Forum as to the "Heating up light" never changed from heating up, I was told this is normal on low slow cooking. Today I used it again on slow cooking low, it was on for 8 hours and most of it was not cooked. I tried to use the pressure cooking however again it would not change from Heating up and the steam was coming out of the small heat, there was NO build up of pressure in the unit, so after over 9.5 hours of total cooking time, this meal was only just edible, the veggies were still crunchy. I am so disappointed I will be returning it to the store of purchase and do NOT want a replacement unit.
