We believed that our old rangehood was ducted outside as it had an air vent on the outside brick wall and we believed our old range hood was ducted outside with a ducting hose but it was just being ducted into the wall cavity . according to our installer many of the houses have this very same problem.

We had our new Bosch rangehood ducted outside , we bought a ducting kit from Bunnings and had it installed to vent outside,. By doing this , we believe that we have greatly increased the removal of cooking smells.

The Bosch rangehood juts out from under our cupboards over the cook top but we don’t bump our heads on it. It has definitely made a difference to the air in the kitchen because it is extracting the cooking smells from the front of our cook top as well as the back of our cooktop, unlike the old pull out rangehood we had.

The controls are conveniently on the front of the rangehood.

it has two boost levels, which automatically run for a period of time and then drop down automatically from the boost level (according to their website the boost level drops down to the previous level after 6 minutes.)

I love the lighting , it has 3 x 1.5 Watt LED Lights, which can be dimmed

It has a Saturation display for filters on the front of the canopy which lights up when the filters need cleaning. Not sure whether this function works all that well. The app it connects to via wifi also tells us the saturation level, I would say that it would be very hard for the rangehood to monitor saturation levels and we are not bothered that this doesn't work as well as we expected it to.

3 Dishwasher safe metal grease filters, fits in easily into our dishwasher. To me, this is important as it was very hard to clean the filter on our old rangehood.

It looks really good with our dark timber cupboards and black granite splash back.

It has wifi capability, It can be app driven although I don’t use the app. You can turn it off and on, You can turn the lights on and off and it lets you know when the filters need cleaning. I don't really bother trying to control our rangehood via the app.

For our installer, it was an easy switch over from our old 90cm Technika pull out rangehood, it fitted in really well, I just lost the use of the inside of an overhead cupboard as the flue of the canopy rangehood now occupies it .

I almost discounted this model as it had wifi and an app, I knew I wouldn’t be using any of these functions and didn’t want to pay for functions I would never use, but I love the powerful extraction on this and it has made a significant difference in the kitchen.

together. While the extractor hood worked well enough during its time, I found it to be quite noisy. However, the most disappointing aspect is that it stopped functioning right after hitting the 5-year mark.

Given Bosch's reputation for producing well-built German products, I expected a much longer lifespan for their appliances. It’s disheartening to see this trend with multiple products failing around the same time.

Additionally, I’ve found the parts and repair service to be quite expensive. For anyone considering purchasing Bosch appliances, I would urge you to think carefully about whether paying a premium price is worth it, especially if you're only getting 4-5 years of functionality.

and fridge we were confident we would receive the same high quality product. Initially the noise level was low but has noticeably increased in 3 months of use, the halogen light has also blown in that time requiring a service call to replace and not void the warranty. Disappointedly Bosch had no record of the service call logged 2 weeks earlier by Appliances Online and a new service call was logged and again advised of a 2 week response time. Please note the units motor takes up the entire width of the overhead cupboard cavity to the point it was an extremely tight fit between the cupboard hinges, also as mentioned by other reviewer, you need to purchase the Recirculating Kit for non-ducted installation for an additional $59.00 Overall, the after sales service is very disappointing and the overall quality of the rangehood is good but not great,

very happy with a number of other Bosch kitchen products but have had this range hood installed to then notice that it has been slightly twisted in manufacture and so is slightly lower on one side than the other. (This is not due to the installation, but has been spot welded slightly out of square.)

other rangehood I have ever owned. I took this job on today and was disappointed to read in the manual that this was not something that I could change myself. A electrician must change the bulb. It’s sealed inside a housing with torx screws. A called the store I purchased from and the guy told me, incorrectly (well intended) to pull it out from the bottom as he had never heard of a rangehood that you needed an electrician to change the bulb on. As it stands now I have to pay an electrician $100 and Bosch $76 to get this working again. This is a $900 rangehood that needs another $100 every few year spent on it to keep the lights working. A terrible investment!
