controls when turned on are so small, I needed my reading glasses to use them. I enjoy my cooking and could foresee the stresses of having glasses next to me for cooking not to mention the other complex settings on the panel. That was the deal breaker even though I was offered a replacement for the faulty one. Then there would be the additional cost of reinstalling by a certified electrician. I have a Bosch pyrolytic oven and wanted a Bosch induction cook top to kind of match up. Sadly that wont be happening as they all seem to have the same controls layout. I have since purchased an IKEA unit that is so simple to use, no complexities with easy to read controls and half the price !!

swap over the unit, meaning I would need to remove, pick up a new unit and pay for another installation. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the cooktop, the steel is very thin and marks easily; I expected better quality from Bosch.

use both types of pots.. Cleaning it is ok, maybe leaves some marks but you have to be scrupulous and live in a display home if you want it perfect.. I'm more concerned that the glass broke after my bro put a shopping bag on the kitchen bench and it was on the stove top and it broke! One wouldn't have thought that be impact enough to do that...!? So not very durable and now have to be careful not to cut myself when using it. Ekk..

unit rather than the glowing red/ electric, and nothing like solid hotplates. I can control temperatures better than gas and it will slow cook very well. I reheat frozen/ leftovers on this rather than microwave. AND cleaning is so easy- just wipe the flat glass sheet (no knobs). Nothing burns into the surface as it doesnt get hot enough (heat is in pan).
May not be suitable for a large family, as it really only has 3 cooking zones but the wattage of the unit meant I didnt have to rewire an older stove power circuit.
Heats cookware rapidly and is easy to control- simple to use (some can be nightmares to operate).
Very pleased so far, and will be interested to see how long the markings for the controls and plate locations last (or if they rub off).

strength and durability, given the quality of their industrial kitchens, but unfortunately the only 5 hob electrical induction cooktop available was Bosche. As I wanted 5 hobs I bought it. Five years later, a few months after the warranty expires - voila! Cracked glass cooktop. To replace the whole appliance for the same one would cost $1899 new at HN plus finding an electrician to install it. To have the glass replaced by a service technician will cost $975 + $158 call out fee including 20 minutes of labour + $25 for every 15 minutes after that. It's daylight robbery and such a bad environmental policy. So cost prohibitive. Everything I buy lasts for years. I will never ever buy Bosch again. They're relying on their name. A friend bought a cheap glass cooktop brand 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

purchasing, so you’re aware of exactly what you’re getting. We purchased the above Bosch Gas Cooktop in 2021 ... and are very sorry we bought it! Having renovated 5 homes/kitchens, most of our cooktops have been tempered glass, which we’ve found very easy to clean/maintain. Unfortunately we didn’t look closely enough at this one, because although it looks as though it would be relatively easy to clean, once we removed the pan supports/pot stands, we realised there is a step up (another level) for each hob, which is enameled metal! We thought we'd be able to clean right up to the jet, however this makes the cleaning process both fiddly very challenging and time consuming. Not only is it far harder to clean, we’ve found the enameled metal chips fairly easily. We’ve since learned a friend also purchased this cooktop and goes to huge lengths to keep it clean to prevent the challenging cleaning job (she covers what she’s not using in foil) !!!! The cooktop works ok, just looks streaky and dirty most of the time! Take a good look when purchasing, by removing the removable parts, to see how easy or challenging it will be to clean.

If I had one thing I didn't like it would be the position of the controls. I'm a short round person and when I lean over to stir things, especially the large one, I find my tops and me changing the controls. I put temperatures up or down. I'm trying to stop myself from doing it. Will learn one day.
Other than that I love it. I've been using it for a few months now and find cooking so much more fun.

Even though its been hardly used and of course, it's outside their "warranty period", Bosch have held that against us even though the product supplied is clearly faulty and not due to negligence on our behalf.
I would be happy to pay a technician to sort it out if it was due to a fault of my own but to pay for a fault that Bosch clearly was aware of since releasing the product (just read the many online complaints alone)..No, I dont have the extra $$$$ laying around to pay your technician to view the faulty item you already sold me. I've already paid you over $2000 for your faulty item, isn't that enough?

good eye sight because of the almost invisible writing that you don't notice in the shop. Press start and the only thing that lights up are crosses for the various pot sites. The temperature icons don't light up!!!!! let alone any of the other features you might need like 'boost'. An expensive mistake and it should not be sold.

Works fine – Installed 11 months ago to replace an old 75cm LPG cooktop. Comes with LPG jets in the box. The bad: The 5 burner layout on 75cm is too crowded,… Read more
should have got the 90cm version. Can only put small pots at front as front burners are near edge of trivets, the trivets should have gone to the edge of cooktop. The black tops on burners stained in a weeks use. Don't spill anthing on wok burner its a very hard to clean out. Tight spacing between control knobs and hard edges of the knobs makes it harder to clean them. The good: Stainless steel cleans up realy easy. Originaly found that the lowest 3 settings on dial were all the same flame size and quite high, then it was adjusted. Now low settings are great for simmering. Wok burner not great, but still good and we use it a lot to get big pots to the boil. I like how the trivets cover all the cooking area, lets me slide pots and pans across the cooktop safely. Good flame control but you get that without the stepped control dial anyway. The raised burners and outer edge will contain small spills within cooktop.
There aren't a lot of quality 75cm cooktops to pick from and it fitted easily into existing hole in our bench. Is it worth $1100? I dont think so. Made in Spain not Germany. Spain OEM build for a few brands. Summing up it works ok, hope it lasts. Got it as it was easier and cheaper than getting an induction cooker installed.
Update: This cook top not easy to clean, if spills get baked on cooktop they are very hard to remove.

safety required. It is much faster to switch on or boot up than the previous models and brands I have owned. Favourite function is perfect fry. You can set a temperature and time for a variety of food types. It will notify you when the pot or pan is preheated on the display, audibly and also by message on the phone app, time to add food & cook to perfection. It will notify again on the app that the food has finished cooking and turn the specific hob off. This feature is dedicated to one large hob. The unit comes with a small A5 sized chart to show different foods types, the power level to be used and the cooking times. There is also an audible notification from the cooktop by default, however that feature's loudness can be adjusted or turned off. It has an impressive 17 levels of power adjustment which is important when making sauces, melting butter & chocolate and reducing food & oil splattering. If you prefer not to use the perfect fry feature or the app, the unit can be used just like any other stove top. The touch control panel is responsive. Other features like pause, favourite and the ability to turn on the matching Smart Bosch range hood automatically. The LED display is absolutely clear and fine. A great cooktop for safety and cooking a large scope of foods that many other induction tops cannot do. Easy to clean. Definitely recommended this product. Price paid was inclusive of 24 month extended warranty.

We have the Bosch oven and a Bosch ClassiXX washing machine. Front loader washing machine is great with the 15 minute washing cycle and that is all we use.
There are cheap and dear pots and pans for the induction and some cheap ones would be good but we had to buy the expensive ones. Just make sure the induction pot and pans are not too heavy for you to lift and probably better to get ones with a glass lid.
Can not say much more about the Bosch Induction Cooktop except just buy it.

March 2024 and installed in May 2024. Within two months of installation, it suffered an electronic control failure that required replacement of the control board by Bosch. Now, less than a year later, the cooktop has developed another electronic malfunction, where the controls repeatedly enter lock/contamination mode (hand and key symbols) and the appliance becomes unusable.
Despite this being a second electronic failure well within the expected lifespan of a premium appliance, Bosch’s response has been frustrating and obstructive. Even though the product was registered with Bosch at purchase, and Bosch previously authorised and carried out a repair using my proof of purchase, I was repeatedly asked to provide documentation again before the issue would even be escalated.
At this point, I have lost confidence in the reliability of this product. A cooktop that repeatedly disables itself due to electronic control issues is not fit for purpose. Even more disappointing is being pushed through repeated administrative hoops instead of Bosch taking responsibility for a product that has clearly demonstrated durability issues.
I would strongly caution anyone considering this model. Based on my experience, the touch controls are overly sensitive and unreliable, and Bosch’s customer support has been unwilling to take ownership of a repeat electronic failure without unnecessary delays. Disappointing for a company that prides itself on German engineering and premium quality standards.

The cooktop keeps working though.
I'm now looking at getting a replacement cooktop from Bosch, same model. To check our installation, I called Bosch Customer Support, and asked what is the vertical clearance needed, between the cooktop and the rangehood above.
I explained that the rangehood itself has a clearance requirement, and I was asking what clearance does the cooktop itself require.
To my surprise, Bosch refused to answer my question. Customer Support also refused to to put me in touch with a technical person with more product knowledge.
So I drafted a review, here, outlining the above, and put it into mediation. Bosch emailed me with an answer, and confirmed my understanding when I asked for clarification. My thanks to Bosch. This is the updated review.
For the benefit of other customers, this is what Bosch explicitly confirmed about this cooktop:
*- the PKM875DP1A cooktop itself does not specify a particular vertical clearance; *- the vertical clearance needed for the PKM875DP1A is set by what the rangehood specifies; *- if the rangehood does not specify that clearance, then it is set by Australian standards.

knobs just don’t look the part these days.
It takes quite a while for the plates to come up to temperature so you end up turning them to maximum and hopefully remember to turn them down again.
The controls themselves are easy to use but in hindsight I’d go with the model up which has touch slide temperature control as the touch press buttons are slow and cumbersome.
I do like Bosch products and It’s pretty cheap for the name but I wish I’d gone induction and got some new pots.
