technician. Technician tells us that the Control board had a small cockroach inside it and so isn't covered by warranty! There re very few cockroaches in the kitchen but I get kitchen treated for cockroaches anyway. I contact Bosch again with the part number for the control board and ask for someone to come an replace it (at my cost) They send out another service technician who tells me that part that needs to be replaced (I'd already told them this$%^!) and sends me a quote to replace and a bill for the call out charge! The quote is almost the same cost as the dishwasher I ask then to go ahead anyway. They call me and say they don't want to do it. And even if they do do it they can't warrant the work.

So I'm left with a useless piece of junk I can't use or sell because of one cockroach.

Suggest you buy from a brand that provides a more meaningful warranty.

they get washed. What this review is about is the RUST SPOTS on the front panel that appeared within months of buying it. I contacted Appliances Online who put me onto Bosch who said they would arrange a service call. I supplied photos. After 4 weeks having NOT been contacted to arrange a service call, I contacted Bosch again. I spent 35 minutes on the phone while they tried t work out what their response was which they decided was that the rust spot is not their problem. There was no apology for not contacting me. No explanation for the total lack of communication. I requested their response in writing. Here it is:

"Based on the information provided our tech team advised that Tea stains on stainless steel are primarily caused by surface oxidation due to chlorides, tannins, and environmental factors, leading to cosmetic brown discoloration.

Environmental Factors

Tea staining is most common in coastal areas where salt from ocean spray settles on stainless steel surfaces. The salt retains moisture, especially in high humidity, creating a corrosive environment that breaks down the protective chromium oxide layer on the steel, resulting in brown discoloration. Other environmental contributors include pollution, dust, industrial fumes, and temperature fluctuations, which can accelerate the staining process."

Okay, so we live nowhere near the ocean so I'm not sue why they think their 'out' is salt spray! But this is a stainless steel panel we are talking about so early rusting is, in fact, your responsibility Bosch under warranty!! It's weird how our much larger double-door stainless steel Samsung fridge has absolutely no rusting on it after 3 years but the Bosch dishwasher that was only 6 months old when I made a warranty claim does. It's not 'Environmental', Bosch. It's the poor quality of your product.

Bosch account and the last purchase I had was a 6 series back in 2016 replaced in 2024 with a .well let's say, a dishwasher that is no longer with us thankfully.

Now, originally I ordered a free standing unit , which was out of stock , and then swapped it for another which was out of stock and then this one , which according to Bosch is also out of stock.

I went with the six series for a good reason , this one is made in Germany,the 2 and 4 series have plastic composite tubs with stainless steel sides , plus they are made in Turkiye , and owing to my last dishwasher , I am shy of Turkiye .

I should mention, that there is more than one model in the 6 series ,so be careful when making your choice as a 6 series in one retailer is not always the same as a six series with another retailer . Another point I should mention is that, if you are replacing a dishwasher check out that the retailer will take your old machine away, some charge for this and some just don't offer that service unless you pay for their install service, along with charging for delivery it soon adds up to anything from $45.00 to $139.00 .

Now, the under bench has that nice flat and very cool touch panel where as the free standing has a different facia treatment more akin to my old 6 series.

This model has the extra zone cleaning on the top rack but does not come with the cutlery draw, which to me doesn't matter I also remove it any way .

Best to check your model side by side with the rest of the 6 series to make sure you get what you want and what you can do without.

The first thing I did was connect the wifi to my app, I might mention the wife does not want that on her phone , so it's up to me to track everything , which showed me ,while I was still in bed , that the machine was on and running through a cycle , so the wife did not take long to commandeer this beast.

The next thing that happened when I hooked up the wifi ,was , a software download , and a pre rinse cycle appeared which is not on the machine as an option. After much fumbling with out the how to manual I managed to send it to the favourites setting on the machine and then told the wife about it just in case. Strangely I had to switch off the machine at the app before the on button on the machine would work .

Now that brings me back to operating the machine from the app and how this stuffs up operating programs from the machine..

This morning it happened again , the app for some reason had started a program which I had added to my favourites.

I noticed this when I went into the kitchen and saw the machine was going through a cycle, so I switched it off from the app, I mean I cancelled the progam.

Half an hour later the wife calls out whats wrong with the machine it won't work. Once again I dove into the app, switched the machine off, opened the dish washer door, checked the app again, pressed the on button for three seconds and got all lights flashing and then it defaulted to a pump out of one minute . Still nothing, I felt I was operating faster than the machine could respond . Switch it off again , looked at it for 5 minutes , came back opened the door , shut the door , pressed on and yeh, it worked and I selected the program on the machine and away it went.

Man, I am thinking this app stinks and Bosch need to fix this behaviour but I can't see this happening as they have had at least 2 years to do something, so be warned, switching from the app to the machine might cause you more pain then you can bare.

Also 2 more programs appeared on my app a Short 60 C at 1 hour and 29 minutes and a Super 60C at 2hours and 20 minutes . I will just keep these to myself on the app , I tried the Short 60C plus extra dry and I liked the results so this might be my go to for heavy soiled dishes and pots and pans.

After a few cycles and mucking about I think we will stick with the one hour quick cycle plus the xtra dry for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes which is just fine for most tasks. Those other programs are way too long on the machine , and I can only see myself using them if I have some really badly baked on pots and pans in the dishwasher.

Can't complain at this point , everything works as it should and lets hope I can get more than 8 years out of this.

A couple of things regarding fitting .

I found the dishwasher gave me more wriggle room that the free standing I was replacing , so I was able to set it more deeper into the cavity .

I was puzzled at first trying to work out how to stop this thing from tipping forward as I could not find any brackets to secure the washer , then realised I had to use two screws plus the plastic ferrals supplied, ( don't lose these ferrels as they will cost you over $26.00 as a part)

Ended up though having to use my own countersunk screws as the ones supplied were a bit on the short side to secure the dishwasher to the sides of my cavity .

Then , I had to recut some holes for the Aquastop valve as it will not work unless in the veritcal position, and also turn the fitting under my sink to that position,small things but worth noting , plus I had to replace the electrical plug with a flat one , because my power point is directly behind the dishwasher and the conventional plug sacrifices about 2 inches of depth.

Oh, and what appears to be dings in the photo is just the way the light is hitting the stainless steel surface. Anyway, highly recommended but as usual I shall return to this review if things start to go wrong.

I used to be a huge fan of Bosch dishwashers, but sadly the quality seems to have dropped significantly. I own two Bosch dishwashers and both broke down just over a year later.

Really disappointing experience overall. Save yourself the hassle and think twice before buying.

were great. This dishwasher had lots of excellent reviews on their web site so after reading the reviews I purchased it. This dishwasher is a cheaper one at $775 and it certainly is cheap. The buttons are terrible on the front display and its not good at cleaning the dishes contrary to all the good reviews. Won't be purchasing Bosch again. For some reason I was unable to leave a review on Appliance's online website. I wonder why.

Pretty good, except the shortest cycle seems to be 1h. When I press the "speed perfect" it displays codes like r001,d00,A00,101, 602 (with an ongoing beeeeeeep sound), rE in succession when I keep pressing it. ..but nothing seems to happen.

infestation was clearly the dishwasher. They are replacing only after I said I would go to the ombudsman, and acted like they are doing me a favour in all their correspondence - the sheer arrogance of their CS team was astonishing. Will never buy Bosch again, buy Miele or LG!

Bosch technician came and replaced the heater for $365. Worked fine for 3 weeks and now the heater has failed again. Service call has been lodged with Bosch. We will see if they warrant the original repair.

have chosen. There is no timer on it so no idea how long until its finished. The top tray is stiff to pull out, so you have to yank on it which makes everything fall over. The bottom tray is the absolute pits. The row of tines at the back are not big enough for dinner plates, only the front ones are. This means it's heavier at the front so when you pull the tray out, it drops down into the gap of the door hinge, making it all fall. I use the dishwasher every day and it drives me insane as you forget about it until everything comes crashing down.
