control is a small circular screen in the middle of the panel. To operate the oven, you need to navigate through 3 levels. The first level is for function, and you need to scroll up and down, but because the area is so small it's easy to mis-click and then you must start again.

The settings for heat and duration are designed to look like a dial. You must drag a thin line in a circular motion. It's quite difficult to be accurate and I think it would be very difficult for someone with arthritis or a disability.

My son has literacy problems, and this oven is very difficult for him to use. I feel that it would also be problematic for those without good English or multi-lingual households. Even I find it frustrating to use and I am typically an early adopter of new technology.

The lack of easily accessible controls makes it way more complicated than it needs to be. Unfortunately, these issues were not on my radar while I was looking for a new oven, and it has been an expensive mistake.

You can also operate the oven from the app. This is a somewhat better experience as you have the awkward physical interface, and the selections are better. For example, there are common temperatures to select. However, the app has a lot and extra stuff and again isn’t really a good interface. The included Cooking Assistant is missing a lot of common Australian dishes and not very helpful.

The included grill trays became discoloured after the first use. I have so far been unable to remove this. I haven’t tried the pyrolytic setting on it yet. I shouldn't need to run this every time or just to clean the tray. The oven and the trays were pre-washed as recommended.

A lot of steam and/or smoke is released when you open the oven door. My old oven didn't do this.

I tried to submit a review, first through the Good Guys website and then the Bosch website. The Bosch website said the review was submitted but 3 weeks later it is still not visible.

In conclusion:

I have removed points for the following:

- Very poor user interface.

- Difficulty cleaning the grill trays.

- Bloated app and Cooking Assistant not very helpful.

- Difficulty in submitting a review (1 point removed).

On the plus side:

- The oven looks good.

- It works OK, though given the difficulty with controls, I have not mastered it.

fully expecting the same outstanding quality we've experienced with our Bosch/Siemens dishwasher and Siemens fridge (both five-star products). Unfortunately, the microwave has been a real letdown. The maximum power output of 900W — even on the boost setting — feels completely outdated. For context, entry-level microwaves from budget retailers offer comparable or better wattage. For a premium appliance at this price point, it's simply not good enough.

To be clear, we're passionate home cooks and invested in the full stack: two ovens, an air fryer, and a plate warming drawer. Every other appliance performs brilliantly. The microwave, however, feels like an afterthought.

Visually, the stack looks stunning. But aesthetics only go so far. We're now seriously considering having the microwave removed and either replacing it with a quality black glass unit to replace it or relocating our 1200W portable microwave to the butler's pantry.

For those entering retirement and wanting the best — as we are — I'd strongly recommend researching the microwave wattage carefully before committing to this setup.

Would not recommend the microwave at over $2,600. The rest of the Bosch range is excellent.
