Functional, effective and visually attractive – Purchased this stovetop kettle several weeks ago with some reservations due to several negative reviews. After several weeks use on our induction… Read more

cooktop my experience is that the kettle is simple to fill with the lid being a snug fit but not difficult to remove. The kettle happily heats on the "boost" setting on our induction cooktop and boils within several minutes. The section of the handle which is not covered by black insulated material does get warm during use but does not get that hot that it it cannot be touched whilst flipping up the spout whistle to allow pouring. The whistle itself has an insulated section to allow it to be flipped back for pouring which can easily be operated without any risk of touching heated parts of the whistle. Finally the visual appearance of the kettle is stunning and looks great when left on a wooden block near the cooktop.

Inside is rusty – I love the look of this kettle and it was my Christmas present last year. Within a few months it started getting spots inside despite my emptying it… Read more

and drying it. I feel I've been ripped off. I have just ordered a Judge stainless steel kettle for less than half the price. Noone wants to drink coffee with bits of enamel in the cup. Very disappointed.

Poor quality – The base has corroded from the inside to the outside and has now made a permanent mark on our induction cooktop. When I took it to Le Creuset they… Read more

implied it was my fault for using the boost setting. Ultimately they replaced it because of corrosion around the lid, so now I use a medium setting and it takes about 15 mins to boil. They also said you shouldn’t leave excess water in it - so basically you need to treat this kettle like a fragile commodity. I own a lot of Le creuset products and have always been so impressed by the quality but needless to say I’m pretty disappointed with the kettle. Looks good but that’s about it.

Cant fault it – I have been using this kettle on a daily basis on a gas stove, and despite other negative feedback, I cannot fault it. It appears to be well made from quality material. Recommended Show details

Baccarat Kettle Disappointing but Customer Service Great – My Baccarat Stovetop Kettle had rusted inside within 2 years. Very disappointing for an expensive kettle. However, I contacted the company with my complaint and receipt and a new one was sent, at no cost to me. Very happy with the customer service. Show details

completely rusted inside the kettle – My kettle has rusted completely, and apparently, Le Creuset rejected the warranty of the kettle, (this is through a third party). the kettle is supposed to be a warranty for 5 years and I certainly didn't expect rust to show up after a year. Show details

Good unless enamel is chipped – It was a great buy for the price, until I noted the enamel coating was chipping along the bottom seam. Shortly after I noticed (within 3 days) the… Read more

chipping had gotten worse and the metal underneath was already rusty. Within another few days the interior was also rusty. So it lasted a week, unfortunately.

Have since replaced it with a stainless steel whistling kettle.

Rust in kettle – I am sad to say that I wouldn’t buy any of Le creuset kettles or products. Their warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on. Show details
