I HATE IT – How well does it clean and rinse your clothes? Not well at all. No matter how much prep work you put in, it won't wash out basic stains. Double… Read more
bed sheets are wrapped up like twist ties by the time the longest wash cycle is completed.
Does it wear-out your clothes?
Yes. I'm left with tears, shredding, thread removal, button removal, jeans snap removal ... I no longer put delicates in it for obvious reasons. The internal agitator blades are just that, thin flexible blades for chopping and dicing your clothes.
It constantly blocks up. I have lint on my clothes constantly but it blocks up all the time. To unblock, one must become a washing machine mechanic and remove 90% of the inards of the machine to access and even then it still refuses to spin again until you lost your cool, and removed the inards two or three times in a day.
I do not recommend this machine at all to people who like lint free, untorn clothes.

about the lack of lint filter buy one from ebay for about $25 that will solve the lint problem. Don't use fabric softener as this will build up under the aggitator and will eventually cause the drain hose and water pump to fail.

I could handle poor automatic water level sensing and the spin going out of balance too easily, but not the planned obsolescence. I requested a… Read more
service in 2026 on a 2020 WA8560P1 washing machine that was noisy at high spin speeds. The service technician did not correctly diagnose the cause of the noise and provided an expensive quote for unrelated pump and suspension parts that were not cost-effective to replace, which I declined. Within a couple of weeks of the service call, spin mode stopped completely. By simply removing the agitator, I could easily see that the screws securing the spline drive to the bowl hub had sheared off, evidently failing progressively over time rather than all at once. Upon installing new screws myself, the machine is now working properly again. The $220 service call fee was therefore a waste of money. I tried complaining to F&P but would have incurred another $220 fee for them to look at it again.
But this is worse than poor customer service. This is also clear evidence of planned obsolescence. The bowl hub has provision for 6 screws to secure the spline drive to it. Only 3 screws were installed in the factory, which obviously couldn't handle the forces because they sheared clean off in only 5 years. That wouldn't have happened with 6 screws. Unfortunately since it isn't possible to remove sheared-off metal screw threads from a plastic bowl hub, it therefore isn't possible to install 6 new screws after the failure has occurred, hence the best I could do was install 3 new screws in the alternate holes. I presume that they too will shear off in due course. Naturally the bowl hub is not available as a separate part so the whole bowl will need to be replaced next time at great expense. I wont be looking at F&P products when that day comes.
F&P used to be a good brand when it was a New Zealand company before the Haier China takeover. It's something much less now.

clothes come out dirtier than went into wash. Most dissatisfied with tangled clothes with white scum on them. Unfortunately a replacement machine of another brand (Westinghouse)with a vertical agitator has a lower energy & water , but at least I should get clean untangled clothes. As an ageing population, it is ironic that there is a trend to front loading washing machines.

and unboxed the item and set up the machine ready to go. We did 2 cold wash loads on Friday afternoon. Machine worked well. With no complaints. However on Saturday afternoon when we wanted to do another load.... the machine was DEAD. No lights... nothing. Tried plugging into another powerpoint to check ....still nothing. Checked powerpoint and found no issues there. After spending $1086 on this machine to say we were disappointed to only get 2 washes out of it is an understatement. HOWEVER, I got in contact with AOL straight away and spoke to [Name Removed]. I explained my problem with him and he then conferred with his manager and came back on line to say "Our guys will be putting a new machine on the truck for you to be delivered asap. We will check to make sure it was installed by us correctly and if so, we will remove and install a new machine for you".... which they did. Come Tuesday midday new machine had been installed and happy to say at this point it is still working well. Excellent service by Appliances On Line. Not happy however with getting a lemon from Fisher and Paykel.

to get maximum sun on it in winter will be a problem because early, the sun isn't on the solar panels. And there will be no two washes in a day, (if I want to dry my clothing on the line,) which I could happily do in my old washer which took 40 minutes. Why technology has to go backwards, I'll never know. To justify the massive price? Strangely enough, it has a 4 star water and electricity rating. How that can be, I don't know, when it goes for so long, emptying and filling about 4 or 5 times from what I noticed. I've done small loads which still took well over an hour and used the sheets setting - it washed everything well. It's quiet. One thing to think of if buying a new washer - this top loader is very high and very deep. I'm 5'4.5" and can barely get things out of the bottom of it - so consider that if you're a shortie.
Follow up. Well, it stopped working. It turned on but nothing happened. None of the buttons… Read more

7 (12kg) WL1264P1 (without agitator). Not happy Jan! Although the new Series 7 looks pretty, with its' multitude of functions (most never used) and no agitator, and flash asthetics such as a silver/grey lid, I'm not impressed as I consider this latest model by far INFERIOR to the 2018 Washmart Eco, for the following reasons 1. It takes 5-10 minutes longer to complete a wash, or even a Rinse. 2. It takes longer to spin, yet it lacks the ability to spin all the water out, leaving washing wetter than the Washsmart. 3. The functions on the Dashboard panel indicator are difficult to see in daylight, as they rely on a backlight which doesn't stand out in daylight, so you need to put your hand over the dial, to see which function you're trying to select. If I'm looking for any merits, I suppose the Series 7 couldn't damage clothing, as it has no agitator. Then again, I never had a complaint about the old Washmart Eco damaging my washing either. I would give the Series 7, a 7/10 rating.
